It doesn’t appear to have ever been used. It was sitting in the attic. The finish is dark and aged to a lovely patina. I believe the seat is original. It has a dainty carved press back, multi-turn spindles, knuckle arms, multi-turn spindles on the platform base and original castors. This is a great find for those who love original finish antiques. The overall size is 23 inches wide across the arms, 17 inches wide on the seat, 19 inches deep, 40 inches high to the chair back, 26 inches high to the arm and 16 inches high to the seat. The platform has two coil springs that allows the rocking chair top to ride on the platform base.

These are unusual to find, and they appear to be in an older refinished ... morecondition. Someone had the chairs reupholstered in a fabric that, in our opinion, leaves a lot to be desired, and in a nice dark oak stain. Back to the upholstery, they heavily cushion these chairs upholstered them attached the upholstery, but then they didn’t put the gimp around the edge on the fabric bottom of the chairs to give it that nice finished look. But it’s very easy to do this yourself. There are a lot of videos online that show you how to upholster chairs and trim chairs like these. It’s very simple, and my daughter did this kind of upholstery for years here in the shop when she was a teenager. It’s a great, fun project.

This children’s ... moresolid oak high chair dates from the 1890s and is in refinished condition. Someone went right through this, refinished it, replaced the cane seat and stained it. It has the original tray, which is usually gone. Someone took the wheels off as they did not want to use it as a walker in the house. We do not have the wheels, but there were a 3- or 4-inch wheel that goes into the holes on the base, and they are not necessary for the chair to work. It still works as a high chair for half way down and down to the floor. You release the spring latch in the back to adjust the height.

A beautiful rare children's(small child) victorian chair. According to my reseach about it. This is an antique from around the 19th century. It has been restored and reapolstered with velvet material. The chair has hand carved flowers and other details on it and is made of mahogany wood. There is only one section at the top of the chair where the wood is damaged a bit. Victorian Batchelors Chair/Jefferson Chair - VERY RARE PIECE!!!
This is one cool chair! It transforms from a chair to a stepladder to a ironing board. No wonder they called them batchelor chairs! This is a very rarebeautiful piece with beartiful handpainted solid doevetailed wood construction from the late 1800's to early 1900's. I have not been able to find anything on the manufacture but there is a brass label on the chair noting King Specialties Manufacturing. Mayfield Kentucky. Chair is in great condition except for some scratches in the paint but no major gouges or dents whatsoever. Very good shape for over 100 years old and hand painted. The ironing board back does not have a cover on it so the fabric has been thru 100 years of sunlight and dust and could use a new cover but other than that this thing is tops! Good Luck!

Victorian Antique Wood Invalid Chair Wheelchair Civil War Era
Up for auction is a very nice antique invalid chair. I'm not an expert and I couldn't find a date but from the research I've done I believe it's from around the Civil War era. Chair is in wonderful condition. Solid and may be all original. I've tried to show many photos and I'll be more than happy to answer questions or take additional photos. Fabric is thicker, not sure what it's made of but it is a bit pricky in places, there is also a nice but worn flowered tapestry covered foot rest. I believe the chair has a silk lining which is a bit delicate due to age. Chair lays pretty flat and has a lever on the right side that you raise to adjust the position in various slots. Everything works easily, no broken parts or wood that I could find and has wonderful little brass wheels. A very nice chair and a wonderful piece ... moreof history! The whimsical card was printed by Gies and Company of Buffalo. New York. This adorable card features a child dressed in white sitting in a highchair who looks to be pouring himself a cocktail from a decanter! The card measures 3" x 4 3/8" and I have other cards listed that look to all be part of the same series. This Antique Victorian era child's high chair has a beautiful and ornate design pressed into the quarter sawn oak back. The chair can be adjusted to 3 different heights by releasing the lever underneath the seat. In the lowest position. The wheels allow the chair to be rolled across the floor. The condition is EXCELLENT. All of the original hardware is present including the piece that secures the tray to the chair. The tray locks in place when in the down position. There is also a small footrest sized just right for little feet. The high chair has been professionally restored and the worn caned seat has also been replaced. Even if you don't have a little one to feed. This is a great piece to display antique dolls or teddy bears! The chair stands 41 1/2" tall in the highest position.
