This antique china closet ... more/ buffet dates from the 1890s, and consists of a three-drawer double door base, fluted carved vases on the base doors, dainty detail carving across the crest of the shapely bevel glass mirror and a carved fruit basket crest on the very top. It has a couple of small holes above the bevel glass mirror on the right-hand side of the wood. I would guess it had a shelf there, but it doesn’t take away from the beauty of this antique sideboard. We used to get these all the time and they used to sell for thousands, but you can’t find them often anymore. Someone hung a mirror on the inside of the top section of the back which covered up the tiger sawn oak panel.

It has a great look with a deep dish lion face back, multi-turn spindles in front, reverse curved cross stretcher with dainty spindles and a cabriole front leg. The overall condition is in good condition. The saddle seat has a lamination seam crack that we can detail out for the buyer if they so desire. There is a small chip missing off the lion head crest. The overall size is 24 inches across the arms, 18 inches deep, 35 inches high to the top of the lion crest, 28 inches high to the arms and 18 inches high to the seat. It is in the dark oak stain finish from the 1890’s.

They must have been in a commercial institution as they have a circular hole drilled into both of them for what, I am guessing, must have been a wire for a lamp at one time. The holes can be disguised by using a wooden dowel, but we left them in case the next owner would like to use it for a lamp or some other electrical item(s). My first choice would be to display wooden horn phonographs on them, it would be perfect!! They have four legs with a circular shelf underneath that is approximately 24 inches round and is held up by four fancy fretwork shelf supports that join the legs. The skirt has egg and dart molding.

~ Beautiful Antique Tiger Oak 5 Leg Dining Table w/1 Leaf ~ Up for your viewing is an awesome tiger oak dining table that I purchased from an estate auction about a year ago. I actually purchased two tables. One was round(which I already sold) and this one. They both had been stored in I believe an attic, for they were very dusty and dirty due to being stored for many years. This table appears to have quite a few layers of varnish or stain on it and when they stored it I believe they put a vinyl table cloth on it, the kind with the cotton or felt like lining and through the years of heat and the layers of varnish it has on it the lining somewhat stuck to the top of the table. When I went to clean it up the fuzzy stuff would not come off no matter what I did so we thought we would try a spot with some paint stripper and it come off. That is ... morewhy the spot is on the top. My intentions then was to strip it off and restain it but never had the time to do it and hated to see this beautiful table sit around and need the space so I am selling it as it is. As you can see on the spot that we stripped under all the varnish that was on it the grain is beautiful and on the leaf, it is the natural color. This table is on wheels except for the center one is missing. But I should have one somewhere around here that I will put on it if I do. Also there is a piece of wood that is off on one of the legs as shown in the pictures. Other than that it is very nice. Once it is restained or whatever one wants to go about finishing the top it will look awesome. The table measures 42" square x 30" tall without the leaf and 25-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the table. The leaf is approx. 12" wide. I have provided several pictures to view. c1895 Large Victorian Tiger Oak Sideboard Buffet North Wind Rope Twist Paw Feet
Being offered for sale is this very Large Victorian Tiger Oak Sideboard/ Buffet with Carved North Wind Faces. Brass North Wind Pulls and Carved Paw Feet circa 1895. This outstanding 19th century sideboard features an abundance of detailed carvings from top to bottom and has three working keys, the original beveled mirrors and the original ornate brass hardware. This sideboard measures a total height from the floor to the top of the carved pediment at the back of 80 inches. With a height to the base at the front of 37 3/4 inches, total width of 59 1/2 inches and depth at the base portion of 24 inches and this massive sideboard weighs approximately 250 lbs and does disassemble into 2 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf measures 59 inches wide by 13 inches deep and is 21 1/2 inches in height from the ... moretop of the base. This tiger oak sideboard is very solid and tight and has a gorgeous presence. The three keys work the locks on the drawers(one key for each drawer) but neither of the keys work the locks on the cabinet doors. The top right drawer does have divided compartments for flatware with newer green felt lining. We believe the large beveled mirrors to be original or at least antique replacements and there is some light spotting and some mild silver loss as common in old mirrors. The top mirror does show a small fracture in the bottom right corner that appears to have been there for sometime and not a major issue in my opinion but there. I have a close up picture of this area. The very front right corner of the sideboard base shows some wear and scuffing please see picture and as common in antiques the top of the sideboard does show some age and usage marks one expects to see on pieces over 100 years old.This outstanding sideboard/ buffet offers a tremendous amount of storage space and is definitely a statement piece to add to your dining area. The entire piece is made of quarter sawn oak and the doors still retain the original wavy glass. The knob on the bottom door is slightly different than the other three. It is a mission arts/crafts style and has a beveled mirror on backsplash. This buffet sideboards measures 48" W x 38" H x 21" D- the backsplash adds another 12 1/2" H to the back of the buffet. This piece is in pretty good condition for its age. But does have some cracking/chipping in a couple of spots- particularly one door is cracked. There is also a wet ring stain(see picture) presumably from someone putting a glass down on the wood. Up for auction is a tiger oak motor board for an antique Victor Victrola windup phonograph. With the bracket that secures the tone arm when it is not in use. This board is in very nice condition, with no significant scratches, nicks or other flaws, and not much wear to the finish. It measures about 10 11/16 inches by 11 3/4 inches, with distances between the motor bolt holes of 4 11/16 inches, 4 13/16 inches and 5 5/8 inches, so it will work on various portable, suitcase-style Victor Victrolas. It would be ideal for someone who needs the motor board on their old portable Victrola or just likes to collect antique phono parts! I'm starting it at only $5.00, with $7.00 for shipping. DESCRIPTION: This Antique Dresser is lower than usual. Not massive it weights under one hundred pounds, although very sturdy in its construction. Mesurements are 25 1/2" High. 45" Long and 21" Front to Back. The thick QuarterSaw Tiger Oak Veneer comes from a mature tree evident from the mature oak grain pattern. This antique lowboy dresser is said to be from period 1880 to 1910. The four top drawers are bow front and the large bottom one has a flat front with a bow board below. The hardware handle/knobs may have been replaced. The curved Empire style front legs. Sides, the top and the drawers are all finished with the tiger oak veneer, the base for the veneer is solid oak. The darker drop spots viewed in the close-up pictures have been easely removed when gently cleaned. Antique 1899 Kimball Upright Piano w/ bench Tiger Oak Gorgeous Must See!
I am selling my antique Kimball upright piano as I need to make room for a home remodel. This is a stunning piano- gorgeous tiger oak with lovely patterns in the wood grain. And leafy wood carving designs on the front. All the keys are in nice shape. As soon as anyone walks in my front door, they comment how beautiful this piano is! The piano measures 59 1/4" high. 63" wide, and 27" deep. The previous owner had d o n e some restoration on the finish I am not an expert and didn't want to attempt any refinishing on my own. The wood is bare and natural; on the inside you can see the previous dark finish-probably from linseed oil. There is a small dark ring from a candle( on the top that could bee removed with wood lightener; there is some veneer on the ends of the body near the keyboard that has chipped off but could be replaced. ... moreAnd near the front feet. A couple of small trim pieces on the bench need to be replaced and could be found a t your local home improvement store. Overall a gorgeous piano- sounds nice- all of the keys are int act. I n nice shape- beautiful color with no stains. Ch ips cracks or d iscoloration and only one sticks slightly but could be easily taken care of when tuning(after a piano is moved it pretty much always needs tuning The foot pedals could use some polish but work fine. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this model of a tiger sawn oversized library table. ... moreYou can call it a conference table or a library table, but I call it one gorgeous table. It is so heavy. It comes apart in four pieces, the top is actually tiger sawn oak veneer over a laminated ash top that is 1-7/8 inches thick. There’s a seam down the middle where someone must have cut it and then re-glued it to put it into a home because it’s so heavy, without realizing that it’s manageable if you take it apart first. We brought it back from the estate from which we purchased it, stripped it, sanded and stained it, made sure that the seam in the middle was perfectly sound, reinforced the base and the top to make sure it was all good, then refinished it in a beautiful medium amber oak stain. The table dates from probably the 1890s– 1910s, and has a wicked thick round-cornered top, a double column pedestal platform shoe base that is 4 inches thick, big turned spindles in the center, and is joined together with a big cross member. The size of the table is 86 inches long, and it goes across 48 inches across, and is 31 inches high. I am a spread-out type person, myself, and I have a similar table in my office. This is a beautiful Victorian Tiger Oak Quartersawn Solid and Veneer 54" Round table that opens to accept a leaf. We were very attracted to its classic octagonal column resting on a simple curving pedestal base rather than the kind of creepy animal claw bases we saw when we were looking for an antique oak dining table 30 years ago. We lost the leaf having moved twice since we purchased the table at the time we owned a Victorian home. But it would be easy to replace or replicate. The table is 30" tall with skirt 4 1/4" high. The table had a couple of repaired chips to the top when we bought it and over time it has another chip- please see the pics; t here are also some chips on the base- please see the pics.
