This postmaster's desk was created by Standard Furniture Co. of Herkimer, NY. The chair was made by W.H. Gunlocke Chair Co. of Wayland, NY. Both are tiger oak, I believe. The desk is comprised of 4 sections: base. Top, cubbies and rolltop. There are some stains and scratches, but the desk is in incredible shape for its age. There are some pieces of veneer missing, but we have some of them. Two brass foot casings are missing in back, but we do have one of those, also. The desk has pullout panels left and right. The gorgeous cubby section has 6 drawers that are finished on top, also(see photo) It has a small door for which we do not have the key. All ... moreof the pulls, and the foot casings, are brass. Craftsman, Mission, late Victorian Tiger Oak Tall columned mantle with mirror
This mantle was in a house we are restoring and was added as part of a 1910 era remodel. The home is being restored and we have no use for it. It is a large tiger oak mantle. 82" x 60" Firebox 35.75" x 36. Nice square columns and just a nice mantle that would work well in almost any old or new home. I have added a second photo which shows the mantle as it was installed in the home. Obviously the'firebox' was a later addition. Look around on Ebay and you can see these typically are 900-1600.00. Tiger Oak Mission Style Drop Down Desk Quarter Sewn
This beautiful desk is made out of oak wood. Tiger oak wood, quarter sawn and is in solid, good original condition. This wonderful secretary style desk has a light/medium oak stain finish color, and it has a pull-down front with a drawer and shelving inside the top section, see pictures. Dove-tailed drawer with wood handles on the outside, see pictures, and the drawer is working properly. This is a high-quality piece with an elegant mission/arts and crafts style design. The condition is very good for it's age but there are some aging imperfections with a small dark spot on the top, and some on the bottom shelf and a couple inside. Also some sort of small circle outline near the top key hole. It looks like the front drop down is made in two pieces and there is a small separation of the two in an area. Really just part of the old character ... morebut I want to point out as much as I see so that you can decide if you are interested. Escutcheon needs re-attached but I do have that and both original keys. There is a key hole on the drop down part and on the drawer. This is local pick up only.

We were so fortunate to be able to purchase this quality dining room set from the third generation of the original family. We have the real provenance to who have been owners of this dining room set that was purchased in 1905. Originally purchased by a young couple in St Louis upon their wedding. It has been in their family ever since. They became prominent wealthy citizens owning a historic Funeral Parlor business in ST Louis. This dining room set was shipped to them by train from Chicago. This dining room set consists of 11 pieces.all solid quarter sawn tiger oak. The dining table is 54" round with a beaded edge and massive claw feet. The pedestal opens with a center leg. And will accommodate 4 solid oak table leaves that extend the table to 8 1/2 feet The table top is in good condition for the age, with only a couple of small scratches. ... moreThere are 6 T back clawfooted side chairs, and 1 clawfooted arm chair for the head of the house. Unfortunately, there are no makers marks or labels on this set other than a paper label inside the buffet drawer that states this set is made of the highest grade of solid quarter sawn oak, no veneers were used. It had to be a quality furniture maker because of the way this set is constructed. The silverware drawer is lined with velvet, and the drawers are dovetailed, plus we have the original keys to lock the drawers and china cabinet. The buffet sideboard measures 60" wide by 26" deep and 6 ft 5" tall. And is unusual because it can also double as a separate server by taking the top piece off the buffet and setting it on the floor. The server separately would measure 60" wide x 16" deep and 39 inches tall. The mirror measures 50" x 23" with a 1 1/2" bevel glass mirror, and just sits inside the frame of the server, and can be removed easily. Take a good look at the buffet pictures, and you will see that there are legs that sit up off the top of the buffet, those legs are on the ground when used as a server. Very unusual! Very solid and sturdy. These chairs boast of newer wide corduroy type fabric in a beautiful sea-foam green with matching gimp trim. The fabric is in excellent condition with only a very tiny spot or two on the fabric. This old fire place mantle comes from an old house in Washington DC build in late 1800's early 1900. Build with solid tiger oak. It has 2 rounded shelves at the top of 2 colums, decorative fleur de lys, nice wood carvings. The bivel mirror is in good condition and appears to be original. The beautifully rolled legs go all the way down the sides for a majestic appearance. Brass knobs match brass key holes on all three drawers that lock away your special things for just the right occasion. One key fits all three drawers and it IS included. That's right, we DO have the original Eagle Lock Co. key! The silverware drawer is divided into three sections ... moreand is lined with the original green velvet. The napkin and linen drawers are not lined. The linen drawers offers tons of space so you can be sure all of your treasured tablecloths will fit. Two doors open on the bottom to reveal a large storage space that is more than adequate for your finest china. On the sides of the buffet you will find more gorgeous Tiger Oak and straight back legs that go from the top to the bottom of the buffet for a strong support. The back is finished with standard plywood and is original to the piece. Originally there was a top for the buffet but I do not have that piece, and to be quite honest I think the piece works much better with today's decor without the top. As you can see in the photos, the finish overall is nice, but it does have some nicks and chips in a few places, as can be expected with a piece that is almost 200 years old. It was refinished at some point. The discoloration on the sides is far less noticeable than it appears in the photos. Structurally, the buffet is in great shape, very strong. This antique Arts& Crafts/mission-style card catalog is made of dark quartersawn oak and is sideboard height. With 36 drawers. It measures 41&3/4" wide, 16&7/8" deep, and 38" high. The wood has a beautiful grain pattern. I've cleaned other antique card catalogs with alcohol to remove the old shellac and then treated the wood with jojoba oil. But I never got around to doing so with this one, and I'm sure it will look even better once that's done. I did clean it with a natural spray cleaner when I first purchased it, but since then have only dusted it. As shown. It has typical scratches and wear, but considering its age I'd say this is in very good condition. All the drawers function properly, although as shown, four are replacements in a lighter-stained oak and of those two will need new hardware. ... moreThey fit perfectly, as they came from another antique card catalog from UNC's Wilson Library that was the same model and age. These lighter-stained drawers could of course be re-stained to match the others. Four brass divider knobs are missing. One of the drawers has an old inkstain at the back as shown in last photo. The price is firm. I really love this and have been saving it to use as a sideboard when I move to a larger space. Measuring about 21" high, 20-1/2" wide& 20" deep(plus handles) Drawers measure inside about 5-7/8" high, 8-3/4" wide& 18-3/4" deep(at the top, the fronts taper to a thicker bottom inside) This piece is absolutely beautiful. It's in excellent condition to my eye. The back panels do have a vertical separation of a small gap. But this is just a bit of shrinkage in the solid lumber& not really a flaw, in my opinion. Otherwise just age-appropriate small scuffs here& there, but altogether an excellent, gorgeously made, solid awesome cube with excellently useful drawers, that would make a perfect end-table. Would be best if this could be picked up here at our gallery in Great Barrington. MA. THIS IS A STUNNING RICH TIGER OAK DISPLAY CABINET WITH BLOWN SERPENTINE GLASS. IT WAS MADE IN ONE OF GRAND RAPIDS MICHIGAN'S VERY FIRST FACTORIES- SKINNER AND STEENMAN. THIS FACTORY BEGAN IT'S WORKS IN 1893 AND OPENED IN 1898 AND ONLY CREATED FINE FURNITURE UNTIL 1905. THE PIECE I HAVE WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD TO A LAW FIRM IN BUFFALO. NY AND WAS STILL A PART OF THIS SAME FAMILY'S COLLECTION UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO ACQUIRE IT FROM THE ESTATE. THIS PIECE IS DONE IN A VERY ELEGANT FRENCH STYLING. WHICH WAS THE STYLE THAT THIS ESTABLISHMENT WAS NOTED FOR) THE OAK IS GORGEOUS. THE BLOWN GLASS IS GORGEOUS. THE CARVINGS HAVE A LIGHT GOLD GILT.
