Old advertisements for this ... moretrunk can be found from the 1918s! This trunk is close to 100 years old! The hinges on the lid are still in good condition and workable. The flip-down locks on the front are stiff but open and close well. The center lock no longer works- looks like someone had to"break and enter" as it is slightly bent and the lock mechanism is missing. There are heavy leather handles on the side that are still in very good condition. Above these handles are eye hooks to attach and hold the trunk still. There are decorative rivets holding the steel in place on all the edges. It looks like a few of them have been replaced over the years. All the outside hardware has rust on it. The black outside material is canvas-leather like. Not sure what it is but there are some rips and showing underneath is wood.There are small holes on the sides and bottom. Maybe this was used for bootlegging at one time? It looks like the bottom could have been nailed down to something as there are small nails that stick up on the inside. Neat old black and white wallpaper type material on the inside of the lid and in the three cubby-holes on the right side. Very spacious measuring approx. 29" long x 15" high. The largest space on the inside measures 24" wide x 11" Each of the cubbyhole spaces measures approx. 4" x 3 1/4 to 3 3/4" with the center space being the smallest. The inside is lined in a canvas type material. I will say there is a very strong mildew smell on the inside. It is dirty inside too- this is definately in need of some TLC! It looks like someone added leather and snaps to the inside of the lid to hold things.the leather is light colored and newer looking. One of these straps is broken. The original leather strap that holds the lid open is scuffed and worn but still works for the purpose. Overall this is a nice vintage trunk with a condition commensurat

Pritchard& Likly.When Henry Likly and his brother in-law became the sole proprietors of the business the name was changed to Henry Likly& Company. This was the name from 1870 when A.R. Pritchard retired until 1925 when it simply became"Likly's"As far as I can tell the company was ran by his children after his death in 1897. In New York State the Henry Likly trunk company was the largest factory of its time. Located at 340 Lyell Ave in Rochester N.Y. the factory covered two acres of land. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Straps, Key, & Tray
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key, and Interior Tray Here is a real nice refinished dome top steamer trunk or travel trunk from the late 1800's. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 1/4 inches. From floor to top is approximately 21 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 16 1/2 inches. We have removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This lovely dome top appears to be made up of poplar base wood with ash or oak outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. Some of the boards are rough cut. lumber. These are boards that were used straight off the saw mill and still have the saw blade marks on them since they were not run through a planer. There ... moreare also some typical older character marks or distress marks on the wood which include older nicks and dings in various places along with some hairline stress cracks. Just about all of the trunks that we refinish have some form of distress marks including these that we have mentioned. This dome top comes with the original working lock. It appears that the key hole cover is missing, although we have still matched up a key that does activate this lock. The front latches are original and do work properly since the springs are still in good condition. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass and have therefore been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The fancy slat board cap metal that drapes down over thr front from the dome top has patent dates on it. It is hard to clearly make out the date. We have shown a picture of one of these patent dates. It looks to read, Patd Mar 15(or 16) 80" referring to 1880. The side handles were gone and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. This small antique steamer trunk has beautiful color and is in great shape for its age. It measures 26" long x 16" high x 13" wide. It weighs 26 lbs. All the metal plates are intact but one. And that I will send in a baggie and can be attached by the buyer. The inside is papered and has a beautiful decal of a lovely lady. The bottom has four rollers which all work. The oak wood slats are silky to the touch and have great patina; the tin is colored yellow on the back and sides as the photos reveal. The previous owner put dimes inside the front latches. Nice Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key, and Original Interior Tray Here is a really nice large refinished flat top steamer trunk that dates to around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 36 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 1/4 inches. This trunk is made up of pine base wood with ash or oak outer slat boards. The wood on this trunk has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The base wood on the top between the slat boards is rough cut wood. It is not smoothed out like the boards on the rest of the trunk. You might notice this in a close up picture that we have provided. There is a slight contrast in color on these top boards compared to the rest of the boards on the ... moretrunk. The wood is in pretty good condition throughout this trunk. There are some older typical distress marks in various places which include some older nicks and dings, mostly concentrated on to the outer slat boards. This is a true flat top trunk with no factory arch. This gorgeous trunk has a lot of fancy metal hardware. The metal components that make up this trunk are not brass and have therefore been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. This trunk comes with a signed working lock. It is signed, Eagle Lock Co Terryville Conn U.S.A. We have shown a picture of this signature and we have matched up a key that does work properly in this lock. The front latches are original and in good working condition since the springs are still intact. Vintage Military Officer's Footlocker/Steamer Trunk
This is a wonderful old steamer trunk/footlocker. I found it at an estate sale where there was a bunch of WWII memorabilia. However, the sale was run by an outside agent who knew little about the items so I was not able to learn much about the age or history of this item. It would make a nice coffee table with lots of storage room inside. It measures 31" X 16" X 13" and is constructed of wood and wrapped in thin. Dark green painted metal with brass-tone hardware/corner guards. From what information I have been able to gather, the date and manufacturer information are beneath the printed paper lining the inside of the trunk but I will not pull it up to check as it is original to the trunk. This item is used. The exterior has a nice patina of travel scuffs. Scratches and light dings but is still a sturdy piece with no structural ... moreissues. Both leather strap handles are intact and in good condition(all of the ones I found online were missing one, if not both, of the strap handles.The two outer latches work properly and keep the lid secure. Some of the hardware have rust spots. The interior paper has become brittle and is peeling in a few spots and there are some light stains here and there. There does appear to be some corrosion stains where the paper touches/touched the metal detailing. As for the lock, I do not know if it works. This trunk appears to have belonged to The Kaplan Hotel at one point in time and was most likely used for theatrical equipment. Trunk dates based on research to the 1890's. This is a beautiful Flat Top metal covered trunk. This trunk has been repainted in Red with Black accents and would look great if professionally restored. The interior is painted red also and has a musty smell. These trunks are hard to find in good condition as many have rusted over time and not survived well through the years. I've seen many metal covered trunks but this one is much nicer with its amazingly ornate metal work stamped"Patented 1895" The hardwood slats can be refinished to show a beautiful wood grain. There is a picture of a Victorian ... morewoman on the inside of the lid. One of the handles has a"Railway Express" tag from Brighton, and a faded"Railway Express Agency" sticker is on the bottom. The two side latches work properly and the center lock is a bit stiff and may not work. There is some writing undermeath the center lock that is hard to read but it looks like it says"Patented 1867, reissued Aug. and we cant't seem to make out the rest. We believe this is from the late 1800's to early 1900's but are unsure of the actual age. There is some very nice ornate designs on the riveted corners and the black metal on the tops and sides. There is some damaged wood and some damage to the metal on one corner, also some rust on the back hinges. The inside has some cracking in the wood but is still in good shape. This auction is for a beautiful trunk suitcase done by Macy's Associates Herald Square Luggage. The trunk is done in green with black accents. As you can see the trunk shows signs of age and use but frankly that is what I like about it. It has vestiges of travel labels as you can see in the pictures. You could probably clean it up pretty nicely if you wished. The paper inside the trunk could stand to be replaced. I don't have the keys. It measures 31" long 17" deep and stands 12 1/2" tall. This is a beautiful steamer trunk made in the late 1800s. A steamer trunk is a small trunk originally designed to fit under the bunk of a steamship cabin. This trunk is extremely sturdy. In great condition considering its age, and would be a great accessory for your home. It is detailed with a floral pattern all over the trunk, and all the embellishments are in tact. The trunk doesn't have a key, but still secures by snapping up the metal hooks. These 3 marble white faux leather on wood Samsonite Streamlite suitcases and trunk are in great shape from the 1950's and 1960’s! RARE TRUNK! These trunks are very hard to find. THrough research I have found that a lot of these were just made for display and very few were made. The largest trunk measures roughly 30L" x 16W" x 12.5H” The carry-on/wardrobe measures roughly 21L" x 9W" x 19H” The smaller train/make-up case measures close to 13L" x 8.5W" x 9H" You can see from the pics the color of the exterior and interiors as well as the various pouches and straps. These are all Samsonite and there is a key for the entire set. These cases could be used for a number of things besides luggage. A very popular use is for camera equipment or speciality tools. By installing foam packaging and cutting it to fit ... moreyour camera or tools is a stylish and less expensive way to protect and transport. These type of cases can also be used for decor such as end tables. Shipping includes insurance and a delivery confirmation. Delivery confirmation is not a tracking number. It is there to prove delivery. I usually ship suitcases by wrapping in shipping paper and taping. This cuts costs by not using boxes. These cases are sold as is. I will do my best to describe them as well as any imperfections and wear. These cases all have minor scuffs and wear on the inside and the outside. These are vintage and used so there will be minor stains and odors that come along with any old item. It is common for the fabric on the inside to come away from the outside hard shell due to time and heat breaking down the adhesive. Some cases can fit inside each other as some can't. Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps and Interior Tray
Charming Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps and Buckles and Interior Tray Here is a real primitive refinished steamer trunk or antique chest from the 1800's. This one is made up of pine base wood with poplar outer slat boards. It is probably from the Civil War era and has the original lock. The lock is there. But we could not find a key that works with it. So we are selling it in"As Is" condition as far as the lock goes. The trunk has the following dimension s: from left to right across the front is 27 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 12 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 14 inches. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. There are some typical older distress marks on the wood which include older nicks and dings in the wood along with some stress cracks. A small ... morepiece of one of the top outer slat boards has been chipped away, probably many years ago. We have run a pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top. These will secure the trunk's top to it's base when buckled. There were no front latches on this trunk. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with black leather straps. All of our leather products for these trunks are obtained from an Amish man near our home in Pennsylvania. You might want to use this trunk to store your Civil War items, coins, or other personal valuables inside. Our trunks have been used to display teddy bear and doll collections. Going to the inside, we have made a nice tray for the interior. The interior tray and interior wood have been given two coats of polyurethane. The interior wood is rough cut boards with the saw blade marks still on them. A nice picture of a Victorian girl posing has been added to the underside of the top. Going underneath the trunk to the exterior bottom, it is in decent shape and we have finished the bottom with a coat of polyurethane to make the trunk overall cleaner. This is a fantastic vintage cedar-lined brass trunk with wooden feet. It stands 18" high. Measurements of the trunk without feet are 30.5" x 16" x 16" The lock is no longer operational and stays closed with a magnet for convenience of use. It is heavy. Strong, sturdy and very usable. This is in used-vintage condition. The brass shows wear and use with scratches and tiny dings. Mostly concentrated on the top. The lock does work. Below is information on Taylor fibre company and there trunks. Vulcanized fibre Vulcanized fibre is a laminated plastic composed of only cellulose. The material is a tough. Resilient, hornlike material that is lighter than aluminium, tougher than leather, and stiffer than most thermoplastics. The newer wood-laminating grade of vulcanized fibre is used to strengthen wood laminations used in skis, skateboards, support beams and as a sub-laminate under thin wood veneers. Has the top compartment and the original label that refers to the James Dooley company that made high end trunks and luggage in downtown New York City from the Mid to Late 1800s. Additionally it is adorned with many stickers and customs tags from the various places it traveled. Please see all pictures for detail. This is a flat top. Low-profile, with vertical slat, antique cabin steamer trunk. It is French made; the words malles- sacs– valises mean trunks. Bags, cases. It was made in France, a center for travel luggage with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, Ay Depart, Moynat and Aux Etats-Unis wer all selling luxury travel goods. Express’ Voyage is a lesser known and likely short-lived business venture, as there are no accessible records of the company. Most travel goods companies were pushed out by the aforementioned top 5 maisons– especially when the 5 banded together and bought their raw materials in bulk. The size. This trunk is an unusual size and shape measuring 36.5 x 21.5 x 26 with a top that is not quite flat but not quite domed either. The trunk is in un-restored condition(see condition details for more information) and a nice find with a large amount of decorative embossed tin on the outside. Wood slats going vertically and almost all of the original hardware and latches. Be sure to view all the photos because the detail pictures will show what the larger pics do not- the embossing is detailed and in good condition, the corner clamps and bindings are very fancy and also in good condition- with a little TLC this will be a treasure for a bidder with a little ... morepatience and care! Purchased in France at the Marche aux Puces de la Port De Vanves. This Vellum-Colored Cabin Trunk has magnificent European styling. Measuring 29" long, 17 1/2" wide, and 12" deep, it has beautiful maple banding around the entire exterior with metal fittings for added protection. This French Cabin Trunk features 3 original sturdy leather handles, one on either of the 2 sides and one in front. The original metal latches have a wonderful aged patina. Circa 1940's.
