I'm not suggesting that this particular one is old enough to have ever been somebody's property on a wooden frigate. However. It does have just enough weight and just enough of a rough feel to it, just enough rough hardware to it to reasonably place it mid to early last century. A knock-off in today's world would be a lot lighter. This one would actually work on a ship. It's not Captain's Cabin quality, but it's nice. A 10" blade will protrude 1 1/4" above the surface. Underneath there is over 2" one either end of the slot before a reinforcing rib would be encountered. IT DOES NOT GET MUCH BETTER.a Victorian gaming table with two drawers.the top drawer has closed and open compartments. The middle front serpentine shaped compartment unfolds to show a sewing pin cushion. As well as two sliding compartments, one on each side. A second drawer holds the chess pieces but this would also be. And appears to have been used as a nice sewing cabinet. Great well done marquetry and clean cut design show work by a superior cabinet maker. Probably a custom request. The chess pawns are all hand carved and have different expressions. This auction is for a super neat and pretty Painted Insert or Panel on a Mahogany Table with beautiful carved legs from Scotland. Painted furniture is new to me. We seldom buy or even try to get it. But this table just caught my eye and I had to get it. The legs are beautifully carved on two quarters on each leg and each have wonderful"victorian" style feet. The apron under tha table top is Solid Mahogany with a very pretty wavy cut on all four side. The stretcher base has the"wishbone" design on each end and is connected with a solid mahogany stretcher and Get This, each"wishbone" and the stretcher are all"beveled" The top is"beveled" all the way around. It's one of not only the prettiest tables I have seen in a while, but it's extremely well made, Solid& Stable to boot. Everybody ... moretells me'painted" antique& vintage furniture are"IN" so I guess I will find out first hand. It would make a Great smaller coffee table and would also Look Superb in your sun room or covered porch. It could also serve as a side or end table and would look good with a sectional type couch. For Sure, you would want it to be seen by everyone. The table is solid mahogany except for the painted area. It is a veneer that has been inset into the top. The painted area is what I would call slightly distressed, not over done to where the wood shows through, but enough to give it a nice look. My wife said, if she were to keep it, she would have a glass top cut to cover the top. Any local glass shop could do this and it would surprise you at how little it would cost. One thing is for sure, It's the Only One Like It, It's a True One-Of-The-Kind. The table is 28 7/8" X 19 1/4" and 21 3/4" tall. It will have some light blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) nicks. Every night someone stops by to have their picture taken in front of it. I put this together(with a great deal of professional help) Years ago I went to Disney to see a 70's group Paul Revere + The Raiders. Paul's keyboards were fitted into a real Edsel front end with the headlight blinking. That was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. But he has roadies to move it and set it up- I didn't. Many years later I built this and it can be carried in with one hand and you don't need roadies to set it up. It serves so many great functions. It has blinking lights in the grill and it has 2 Chavet headlamps(one on each end) that serve ... moreas lights and they strobe. Also. The blinker section has 2 fog machines there that are remote controlled. With all of that going the whole thing comes to life with very little attention from you. Another big feature is that it stands about 14" tall and covers up computers and wiring that can be so cluttered looking. You get a clean good look on your DJ table. Let me tell you how this came about. I first bought the fiberglass front end on the internet. IT'S A REAL JEEP(1992 model) FRONT END. It's lightweight as it's made out of fiberglass not steel. It was rough so I had the grill. Lights, wiring and other crap taken out. I had the fiberglass structure painted at an auto body shop. I bought a new chrome and had it installed. Then I had a local music store install a pair of large Chauvet LED lights in the headlight spots and a pair of CHAVET DJ Bank lights on the inside of the grill that flash thru. I bought a Chauvet Obey 3 to run the outer headlights. I bought a pair of Chauvet Hurricane1100 foggers with remote controls. Let me try and explain by the picture numbers. Up for bids is a unique looking 1936 Airline radio model 62-436 in a large table model cabinet. This set was manufactured by Wells-Gardner for Montgomery-Ward and sold through their mail order catalog as one of their"Airline" house brand of radios. During the 1930's. Montgomery-Ward's"Airline" radio sales were second only to the Sears"Silvertone" brand in mail order radio sales volume. The Airline 62-436 is an 6 tube. 2 band set covering the AM broadcast band and Short Wave. This unique. Oversized cabinet has its original finish that shows some wear on the right side and on the front to the left of the dial. I'm not sure if the grille cloth ... moreis original or not but after removing the speaker from the cabinet for inspection, it appears to have been factory installed. The knobs are reproductions. The multi-colored oval dial is in good condition as are the d ial glass and bezel. The Airline 62-436 is a battery powered set designed for use in rural locations without household electrical power. In the 1930's. A large percentage of homes in the United States were still not wired for AC power, a convenience most of us take for granted today. As this radio is battery powered(2 volts) it has not been electronically tested or restored and is completely original. The chrome chassis shows minor pitting and a couple of scratches but overall. The chrome is in remarkably good condition. The dial string is broken easily repairable. A replacement is also more than likely available on the web. All battery terminals and their correct metal tag connection hook-ups are intact but most of the external battery cable wiring would need to be replaced it this set is restored to working condition. Hi this auction is for a pretty embroidered vintage table mat. This is rectangular in shape measuring approx 39cm wide by 50cm long. Made of soft lovely quality fabric and delicately embroidered in purples. Green and brown in in a vintage floral daisy motif. Could use under vases. Trays etc on a sideboard or as a centre placemat on a vintage table. This is in very good clean condition. Came out of my granny's sideboard and is creased but apart from that looks unused, the colour and fabric have been kept out of light so are still lovely and bright. I am selling this Hermle clock from Germany having a WESTMINSTER chime! The appearance of this clock is very solid yet in balance. The size and shape make this piece a jewel in your home. It has a NUT wooden. High gloss body with a frontdoor made of(real) glass. The wood is in a good condition and comes in red/brown. The HERMLE movement is very reliable. Runs ON TIME and will tell you the time for 8 days on one winding session. The chime is surprisingly clear and warm and works by means of 5 BARS and 5 HAMMERS. The chime finds its way out of the clock through 9 holes in the backdoor. It'll telll you each 15 minutes what time it is by playing a part of the Westminster chime. On full hour it plays the whole chime. Being followed by an amount of strikes of 3 hammers, corresponding with the time at that moment. An extra feature is that the ... morechime can be switched of by means of a seperate handle inside the clock. It comes with a white metal/ brass dial(marked with"Made in Germany" which has Roman numbers telling you the time. The makers name is also on the dial"HERMLE" On top of the clock there is a carriage handle which is FULLY GILT! Regarding the weight of this clock there can be stated that it is heavy: 3081 grams! The metal hands and numbers on the dial come in black metal. Which give this clock the perfect balance. Symmetry and the use of High Quality materials make this clock a real eyecatcher! The movement is marked"Franz Hermle" TWO(2) jewels unadjusted" Made in Germany" and the numbers"340-021A" The fact that the movement is jeweled says it all.
