Unique antique settee/fainting couch
This is a beautiful and unique piece of furniture. It has a dark oak frame. With some simple carving on the feet. The couch itself was reupholstered about 12 years ago in high quality fabric and has seen minimal use. The unique thing about this settee is that both arms go down to provide a long chaise or bed. The back also lifts off. I have only seen one other like this in over thirty years of collecting. I must be honest and tell you that this settee is not particularly comfortable to sit on for any length of time, but it is lovely to look at. The photos do not reflect the deep colors of the fabric. I will try to take some better ones and send them if you are interested.

I believe this piece is made of walnut and has detailed pressed wood designs as well as carvings in the crown. Crest, central panel, handgrips and the seat rail. The backrest has divided button-tufted cushions and is trimmed with a beautiful gold welt, or trim! There are beautiful burled wood accent strips on the crest rail and flanking the back cushions. The front legs are turned. The Green& Gold upholstery appears to be original. As the seat is showing some very slight signs of wear in the knap of the fabric. Overall this piece is in good condition. It's a Civil war era settee and has a golden oak frame, but.the golden oak has been updated with a an off white paint color and a contemporary French toile with an eyelash trim. MOHR& MCPHERSON MOROCCAN IMPORT BENCH SETTEE CARVED WOOD BENCH. Purchased almost 5 years ago and kept in impeccable condition is this Moroccan Bench Seat. Ornately carved wood and red velvet upholstery. Measures 51 inches long. And has a tall, scalloped back that measures 46 inches at its tallest and 38 inches at its shortest. The seating is 24 inches deep by 17 inches high off the ground. Strong and sturdy and very heavy. Big solid feet. It also has little glass panels that are supposed to be a window into the cultural past with photos behind them. Very unique piece. Must pick up. Bring large truck. I paid $1450 for it. From an estate. This antique loveseat or settee is in very good sturdy condition. It can be used as is with a good steam cleaning if so desired. It is smaller than a couch. Measurements are: approx 47 inches across the front and about 42 inches high in the back. Two people can sit comfortably on this chair. And maybe three children. The actual seat area is about 40 inches by 19. Front to back width 21 inches. The part you lean against measures 38 inches across. Seems to be in original condition. The back top edge has some blue rub marks. Not sure if they are paint. I have not tried to get them out. The springs feel great! Fabric is intact. And button type nails are holding the fabric around the legs leading me to believe it's from 1940's early 50's? Pick up is preferred. Antique Heywood Brothers Wakefield Victorian Wicker Settee VGC Ornate 1880-90's Here is a wonderful piece from the late 1800's by the Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company. This piece features some of the most desireable design elements from that era. The vertical side supports for the back of the piece have a triple"Birdcage" design. Lots of curliques and a bead and stick pattern in the center back. The piece is really in terrific condition considering it is probably at least 110 years old. Here are the stats: 39" high and wide to the edge of the armrests. The seat is 34.5" wide and 20" deep. The brass capped feet look to have been wrapped in masking tape at some point and the tape was painted white. The wrap on one leg has been repaired and needs a little more material to completed the repair. One piece ... moreof wrap is loose and the large curlique on one side is damaged(looks like it was chewed) There are one or two other places where on piece of the wrap has been broken or damaged- but. For the most part, this piece is in excellent, undamaged condition. It has been well cared for and belonged to a couple who were antique dealers for years, it was not kept outside.
