This austere work from the workshop of Gustav Stickley is an impressive object. The solid oak and oak veneers glow under years of waxing, the finish is soft and velvety with warm mellowed hues and a deep patina from the oxidized charm of use. The back leg retains the decal of the Stickley shop used during the years of 1905-12. It is in every way a very fine investment grade selection. Measurements: 55 13/16" wide x 22 5/8" deep x 29 5/8" high; 18" high to top of cushion Condition Report: Oak veneer cracking and loss throughout. Particularly to the edges of the feet and along the posts. Surface is early, probably not original, well preserved with wax. Scratches, gouges and abrasions throughout, as expected with an antique, these well represented in the photos. Core of feet have typical dry-rot, not causing any issues or weakness. Appears to be the original seat frame(though we have not removed the leather upholstery to examine) reupholstered in a carmel-chocolate leather, this with light abrasions and use indicators. very old sofa. a classic design with a timeless beauty about it. sofa is strong. But not perfect. it deserves expert care and skill. i don't think the fabric is original, but it does suit the piece. before any repair their should be a lot of thought involved. this sofa will require involvement. i know it is not impossible to find out who the maker is, this is what i meant by involvement. knowing who the maker is could be a wonderful asset. this is for local pick up. there are companies that do pick up and deliver, but i am not familiar with them. i hope my pictures will give you some insight and help you make a good decision. thank you, william-415

Antique Victorian Walnut Settee 1870's Era
This is a Victorian Settee 1870's Era in Fine Condition. Professionally restored. A beautiful piece of furniture made of solid walnut with original glass castors and horsehair padding. In the restoration, the wood was steamed apart and original dowels retained. The animal hide glue used then. Was replaced with modern glue. It is covered and tuffed in a lovely soft pattern of green. It measures 60 3/4" wide. The seat is 18" deep. And is 18" high from the floor. The height from the floor to the top of the carved ball is 40 1/2" It displays well. And would accent any living room or parlor. I have personally owned this piece for over 25 years.

Antique Victorian Settee and 4 chair Rosewood Parlor Set
Item up for bid is an antique Victorian Rosewood Parlor Set. It includes the settee and four chairs. One with arms. There are two larger chairs and two smaller chairs. I do not know much about this set as it was inherited. I am unsure of its age. The frames of the settee and chairs all have patterns with grapes as can be seen in the pictures above. It is slightly different on the chairs than on the settee. Obviously the upholstery is of different colors, but could be reupholstered to match. The condition of the set is good. But it is in need of some repair. The back comes off of the largest chair. I included a picture, so you can see the pegs that hold it together. It looks as though there may have been some repairs to the settee and you can see scuff marks on it in the picture. The items do have scuff marks on them, and there is a chunk ... moreout of the bottom of the wood part of the settee. Some of the seams in the wood of the settee are off a bit too, I included a picture of that. The underside of a couple of the chairs have the fabric torn loose under them, so you can see inside the chair. There is a chip off of the top of one of the chairs as well, on the grape pattern. It features a full barrel back. Loosely tufted with a curved crest and outward scrolled arms. The upholstery is quite comfortable and in overall very good condition, noting the minor flaws mentioned below. It rests over six carved cabriole legs, each terminating in lightly scrolled french toes. It is a fine piece for that sunroom or corner of the bedroom, very sturdy and strong throughout and perfect to stretch out on.
