This classic victorian style piano stool is very pretty. And would make a great restoration project. The bottom frame is composed of cast iron. It is beautifully engraved and features three gorgeous twisted legs that add volumes to the overall style. The seat portion appears to be made of pine. It looks as if it was just the base that a padded cushion or covering was glued to. You can see some of the left over residue from this in the pictures. The cast iron portion is in great shape, with no dents, dings or bends whatsoever. The part that adjust spins up and down quite smoothly. There is light surface rust in a few places that should be very easy to remove. It is around 18" tall, and the legs are 18" apart at there widest points. This is a very nice piece! For your consideration an ornate antique c.1890 Victorian organ stool. Fresh from a local estate. The stool is made of solid wood. I think it is cherry. It has cast metal feet. The legs and base are ornately turned. The edge of the seat is also carved. It is adjustable in height and has a large steel screw and shaft in the center. It works perfectly. It measures 18 1/2" in height adjusted down and 23 1/2" in height turned all the way up. The seat measures 14 1/2" in diameter. This is one of the nicest organ stools that I have seen in a long time. It is wonderfully made and in great condition. A great addition to any home or antique collection. I am selling this item with no reserve. SC! Imagine the history that has happened around this piece! While I have no idea of its age, I am certain it is very old! The wooden base appears to be mahogany and is in superb condition. Attached to this base are three sturdy cast iron legs with beautiful ironworks designs that are in really nice condition minus flaws as seen in photos#1, 13& 14 below. The seat itself(measuring just shy of 14 inches x 14 inches) is soft, plush and spins just like new. This stool can be raised to a maximum of 26 inches in height and it can be lowered all the way down to 20 inches. The seat itself is in pretty nice ... morecondition for it's age with a few scratches around its decorative edges. It sits very comfortably and does not rock(but you can make yourself dizzy spinning around in circles on it if you like) or give that unbalanced feeling. You are bidding on an authentic vintage adjustable piano stool. It is solid oak. It has lizard claw feet with scales and glass balls. I believe the lizard claw feet are solid brass but do not know for sure. The seat edge and the legs are carved as shown in the pictures. It is in quite good condition consistent with its approximately 100 year age. The wood is very solid. There are no scratches or gouges. There is one area on the central stem where the stain has been rubbed off and could use a touch-up. You can see it in picture number 2. Also. The legs need to be re-glued where they fit into the central stem as they are loose. The seat could use some polishing- see picture number 3. Neat old stool; probably recovered and refinished at one time. Note the side lift adjustments; I've never seen them before. Measurements at the legs are 13" x 16" With the feet protruding making the 13" depth 16" at the feet. This stool will adjust from 19" in height to 23" in height with a heavy cast iron screw mechanism as pictured. This sto ol is circa 18 80s to the early 1900s. The round seat measures 14 1/2" in diameter and has a ribbed edge and a slightly concave top to fit your bottom. This is an ornate antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ/ harp stool. The stool is in great condition and has been restored. Re-glued and reinforced. It is made of solid maple that is stained walnut. It has metal claw and clear glass ball feet. The glass balls are not cracked and the legs and base are ornately turned. What appears to be the original seat has been covered with padding and vintage toile floral cloth. The cloth is not ripped or torn. The metal support plate attaching the seat to the adjustment screw has been placed with a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" x 1/4" steel plate to provide ultimate reinforcement. There is some light wear and scratches from use on the wood. The seat is adjustable in height and has a large steel screw and shaft in the center which works pefectly. Up for sale a beautiful antique wooden piano stool made by Tonk-out of Chicago and New York. America. This is hard wood-may be oak or maple. This is in nice condition-the wooden seat is free of cracks, it may have been refinished I do not know I am not the original owner, we have simply used a good wood cleaner on it. The seat is adjustable, it has a screw type of hardware under the seat that simply turns right or left to raise& lower it. There are a few marks on the seat-as pictured. This also has wooden legs and a ball& claw design foot. The 5th& 6th pictures are more true to color on the feet-the last 2 pictures look darker than they actually are. The hardware piece under the seat is marked with Tork Chicago& New York. Made in the early 1900's by the Henry Holtzman Sons Piano Company, which operated in Columbus Ohio between 1893 and 1959. This highly desirable company produced piano covers, stools, chairs, benches and cabinets. This piano stool is made of solid walnut with beautiful contoured parts and turned legs. The legs rest on cast/iron and glass ball and claw feet. The rotary seat makes it possible to raise and lower the seat and is functioning well. The cast iron bracked is marked Holtzman& Sons Columbus and the center wood is stamped NUT.PAT. JUNE 18 08. The stool has not been restored. Vtg Antique Parker Adjustable Piano Organ Stool Glass Ball & Eagle Claw Feet
Wonderful antique adjustable piano/organ stool. Made by The Charles Parker Company. Not sure of the exact age. Very solid sturdy condition. Clear glass ball and metal claw feet. It has the original rippling finish that comes with age and has not been refinished but at some point somebody sprayed some gold paint in some places on the base. I imagine they thought they were giving it an"antique" finish. Not over done or offensive. It could be taken off with a little elbow grease and steel wool without getting the original finish off. The patina on the top of the seat is a little lighter from use than the base. There are some nicks and wear on the base. Nothing out of the ordinary. The underside of the stool's is embossed The Chas Parker Co. Meriden Ct. on the metal hardware. The stool's round wood seat is in good condition ... morewith expected marks that can be sanded off and waxed or refinished with minimal effort. Or not. Feet are in very good condition. Seat measures 14-1/4" across. Stool is about 19" high and adjusts up and down when spun. Overall in nice condition and very attractive. This is an antique highback swivel piano stool/chair. It was made in the late 1800's by Tonk- Chicago& New York. This chair is in very good condition for it's age. Very sturdy. it has the glass ball claw feet. It's a very nice piece of furniture to have for your collection. Max Tonk, born in Berlin in 1851, went with his family to Chicago in 1857. He learned to carve and worked in his uncle's piano and organ factory carving embellishments of the instruments. In 1873 he opened his own carving shop supplying the Chicago cabinet industry with fancy ornaments for cabinets and caskets. In the 1880s Tonk Manufacturing began to make swivel seat piano stools for the growing musical industry.
