This is a very unique(and adjustable) lamp and has"Hubbell" on the switch(see ... morepicture) This item stands about 7" tall without the shade or bulb and around 10" with bulb and shade(came with a 25 watt bulb which is not included) and weighs a bit under two pounds. To my surprise this lamp is adjustable in heigh t. The metal base unscrews to make this lamp go from 7" up to about 9 1/2" 12 1/2" with shade and bulb) This piece shows great patina throughout and is being left to next buyer as to how much cleaning is to be done. The wiring on this lamp is definitely older and may need to be redone. As you can see from one of the pictures it does(or at least did) work when I carefully and cautiously tested it! I cannot guarantee that it will continue to work without rewiring. That being said I am including pictures to show the plug and socket wires. Some fraying of the cloth cover is evident at both ends. I would rather err on the side of being cautious but the rest of the cord seems to be in fairly good shape. No tape jobs or cuts. The"HUBBELL" switch seems to turn nicely and has great on/ off clicks. The shade(which is non metallic) sort of snaps around the bulb. Pictures will show this mechanism on the inside of the shade. I am not sure of the age of this lamp. But I knew it was something different and unique when I saw and obtained it. Hopefully you will too and give it a good home. The large wide one covers all the 22 small storage drawers with larger decorative columns on each side. These drawers have birds eye maple on the inside. You are looking at one fine piece of furniture. Part of JDI Collection* and purchased new by the current owner 25 years ago for a larger home than the bungalow* she now resides in. She paid just under a $1000.00 for it from an elite furniture store. The photos say it best. I have included with and without flash photos so you can see it the hues in different lights. To my eye it is a bit less red and a bit more golden(typical of fine oak) then either set of photos shows. Since the carved legs stand proud the base is larger than the top surface. The base is approximately 40" x 40" outside foot edge to outside foot edge) and the top is 36+" x 36+" Stands 17" off the floor. I have checked the web and a comparative is about $1200.00 today from JDI. Beware of lovely looking carved tables that are not the real thing. Look at the solid-thick-heavy oak legs. They are as tight to the frame as the day it was sold. This table is lifetime quality and may become a family heirloom. There are 6 of the original coat hooks and the beveled mirror has NOT been resilvered. The hall tree is from the Arts& Crafts era. Early 1900s. in good original condition. The base does not have the lift up seat. The drip pan is not original, but works very well. The beveled mirror needs to be resilverd or replaced($45) Stands about 80 inches tall AND is 21 inches wide, not counting the umbrella holder. Martin Maier Oak Slat Trunk
This is a restored Martin Maier oak slat camelback trunk. All parts are original to the piece except one roller. Which was replaced because it was broken, and the handles have been replaced due to their poor condition. The interior has been lined in reproduction Civil War Era fabric of gold and black. We have visited the UPS store and they estimated the cost to pack and ship this trunk from here to the East Coast at approximately $300. If a cheaper way to ship can be found we will find it. Georgian Antique 1750-1760 Oak Secretary Desk / Bureau
18th Century Georgian Country Oak banded with Mahogany English 1750-1760 Slant Top Secretary AUTHENTIC! not a Repoduction! Country of Orgin: England. Purchased in 1988 while living in the UK at Antique Dealer in Great Missenden, Buckenhamshire. Have reciept and document of authenticy. AGE: circa 1750- 1760 Georgian Maker: British(could be England. Wales, or Scottland) Style: Slant Front/ Bureau style with three over three large drawers. Unlike other slant ront desks of this era the writting/ front drops down and rests on outside drawers. It does not have pull out blade rails that support the writting surface the pulled out top drawers accomplish that. It has a fitted writting surface of genuine leather( this was a refurbishment some time in the mid 1980's) There are small drawers and cubby holes within and even secret compartments. All ... morebrass hardware is intact however one drawer handle is loose. Bonus hidden cartonnier featuring a well. The cavity beneath a sliding panel, directly behind the writting surface behind the closed doors. Another hidden drawer is behind the closed doors as well. Bracket feet are solid and level. Lock: yet no key Dimensions: height 45" width 37 3/8" depth 19 7/8" Condition: This Country Secretary was built as/ and designed to be a utilitarian Country piece of furniture it is not a highly polished. Unused Hepplewith museum piece. It could use a good cleaning and some very minor restorations. It has miscellanous mars, dings, scratches, wear, shrinkage and separation due to age and use but it all adds to the rich patina of age. It does need a small amount of repair to the mahogany banding on the left front. I don't think this secretary has ever been fully restored. It was a real workhorse at a working country manor house/ estate. Definatly shows some patching and mending from the many years of it's long life. This is a beautiful thick oak wooden frame which is circular. It is new and never used although I've had it for a long time. It is a typical oak color and pictures#1 and 2 are more accurate as far as color. This is a magnificent frame that would be wonderful for a vintage family picture or many other purposes. Original gold tone liner in the frame. Which is dark and has discolorations. DETAILS: The antique print is in good condition. Not faded, not torn, not stained. The print has a mat with hand drawn lines around the opening for the print. The upper left corner of the mat was cut just a slight bit more narrow– see my photo with red arrow. Frame is good and solid– corners are tight. No wiggle. ... moreThe finish on the oak is the original dark oak color– almost looks like walnut when hanging on the wall. The frame has glass and a old stretcher backing behind the print to protect it– see photos of side and back of print. Partial remains of label on backing. Up for auction is a very nice and very detailed. Hand carved oval shaped black forest style wall hunting plaque; carved to simulate tree branches with oak leaves and acorns. The plaque is stained a nice rich walnut brown and has small wild boars carved on each side of the shield. There are two holes drilled in the center of the plaque from a previous mount. This is one of the best carved hunting plaques that I have ever seen! This will make a great addition to someone’s collection or a nice plaque for someone to mount their own trophy on. This is a vintage oak framed mirror and it measure 22" x 16" It is in great shape for it's age. The mirror has no chips, the frame has a couple small knicks, but it doesn't take away from the piece. The frame has been removed from an old vanity and was made into a hanging mirror, you can see the holes have been filled where it use to hang from the vanity( photo's are in the listing)and this doesn't take away from the piece either. Amazing Miniature Spoon Carved Eastlake Folk/Tramp Art Cupboard Oak & Pine
Miniature Eastlake Cupboard Extraordinary Craftsmanship& Attention To Detail As dealers. Every once and a while we come across something that we really want to keep; this is one of those items. It is quite honestly a work of art. I couldn't even guess how many hours of love went into this perfectly scaled and highly detailed miniature tall cupboard. This amazing cabinet is only 17 1/4" tall x 10 5/8" wide x 5" deep. The front and doors appear to be either oak or chestnut with the top. Bottom, sides and back appearing to be pine. It looks and smells to me like it is in original finish. No linseed oil or furniture polish. If you have much experience with antique furniture, you know what I mean. It has that old furniture smell. The back is single piece; the sides and 4 piece front are fitted into slots like floating panel ... moredoors. It is constructed just like a full sized cupboard would be. All of the wood is hand planed. The spindles are either hand turned or carved, the hardware is hand made from wire and all of the details are hand carved or impressed. One spindle is missing from one door as seen, and it has a couple of white paint dots on one door; otherwise truely excellent condition. I see no restoration repairs; it is solid and clean. No splits or cracks but the top is slightly bowed, just like a full sized one that is showing it's age. It has a very few tiny wire brad nails in it. So I would guess it is no earlier than 1880 and no later than perhaps 1910. Note that the knob on the door has the same impressed design as the centers of the"flowers" on the doors. Constructed of solid oak and of good quality construction. Dovetail joined with metal fixings to the corners of the case. There are catches which are in full working order which hold the front leaf in place when closed. The front leaf removes to reveal five graduating drawers each with it's original bakerlite drawer knob. The drawers are with the original baize lining excluding the bottom drawer as has been phtotographed. Also the original baize is missing from the fall front leaf- it has been later replaced but could do with re-lining. This is a wonderful cabinet dating from the 1900s- 1910s that has tiger sawn oak with checker maple and ebonized inlay along the tops and ... morebottoms of the glass fronts. The whole perimeter of the serpentine glass door, and the rest of the cabinet is quarter sawn oak construction. It has three wood shelves with plate grooves in the back, and two glass sidelights in the front, one on each side of the serpentine door, which is“S” shaped instead of curved, which is quite unusual. It has tapered legs with molded rectangular posts, and also glass on the sides. It’s in its original finish which shows some scuff marks here and there and some rub marks. It’s in good, honest original condition, and it has only been wiped down with a rag. The overall size is 44 inches wide, 18 inches deep in the center, and 64 inches high. There are a few nicks and dings here and there, and it has its original key. All the glass is good. Carved Footed Wooden Bowl 1909 Child Bear Oak Leaf Motif
There is a boy and his bear drawn in the bottom of this hand carved wooden bowl. They are walking hand and hand with their back facing and look very much like Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin. But, in fact, the bowl predates the story. The sides are carved with an oak leaf and acorn design, and there are three round feet. On the bottom it says"Many Birthdays to You" The M is faded. The bowl has some discoloration, and a small amount of wear. It is very lightweight, and measures about 7 and one half inches across and about 3 and three quarters inches high. Drawer fronts are oak, the rest is cardboard. One is missing side, the other the front is off. Cardboard is very worn. Drawer fronts do have handles. The drawer fronts measure, 4" x 3" Drawer is about 8" deep. Please check out the pictures they are the best description.
