Measures about 28" tall and 13 3/8" square. ... moreI am uncertain as to the origin or age of this stand but believe it might be earlier 1900's. Stand is in very nice shape but does show normal age appropriate wear- some scuffs/scratches in the finish, one area(shown in pic) on one leg where the finish has been scratched, and it does appear that a repair has been made on one of the top pieces(shown in last picture) Originally thought it was a scratch until further inspection- honestly don't think it is noticable. The rest appears to be all original finish, and worn areas can be seen in the finish especially on the top. This stand has 4'sections' in it. Each of the four legs are surrounded with brass coverings. Canes shown for display only and are not included. I believe there would have originally been a drip tray with this but is missing. But it will really always be"Grandpa's writing desk" Unfortunately my seller is downsizing their home and grandpa's desk needs to find a new place to go. It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. You can see it in the photos. The interior is plain with no shelves, drawers or cubbies. The information that I received from the appraisal company is as follows: The drop front oak(not quarter-sawn oak) writing desk is a Mission style Arts and Crafts desk; there is a keyhole in the top of the fall front and a small gallery or backplate on the top back of the desk. There is an"H" stretcher in the middle bottom of the desk and a vertical"X" stretcher on each bottom side of the desk; the legs are quadrant legs; there is one drawer with round brass pulls beneath the fall front. I would date the desk C. 1900-1915; the value would be between $625.00 and $700.00 in today's retail market. Due to the size of this item it will not be available for shipping. This is a framed Giclée print from the original Taber& Prang chromolithograph from 1905 with a quarter sawn white oak frame. The print is under glass. Lovely arts and craft mission oak footstool with nice quartersawn oak grain. Has a nice cross stretcher on two sides and on the other sides it has a real nice arched stretcher. Has a limbert or Stickley Brothers look but is not signed. Very solid. Professionaly recovered with burlap overlaps. Then cotton webbing and a nice mission reddish brown leather. Has very nice brass tacks around the footstool. There is one small hairline crack that does not affect the footstool but photoed. Antique Arts& Crafts Mission Era Coat Tree/Rack: Quarter Sawn Oak with 4 Brass Double Hooks This is an antique. Original Arts& Crafts coat rack from the early 1900's. It has its original finish. Three of the four hooks are original(one is slightly different than the others) Size: Height 71" Base 21" x 21" x 4.5" tall. There are three wood pieces: cross base is one piece then a small square piece has a cross cut out of the bottom so it sits perfectly on the base. The middle post has a long metal threaded post on the bottom which runs through the square base and feet then is secured with a washer and nut. All wood pieces fit very tight and securely together. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern furniture to disguise the inferior materials underneath; these veneers are very thick and help strengthen and stabilize the door, as well as protect it against warping. A solid oak door would've warped a long time ago. The door has a beautiful and rare. Arts& Crafts style arrangement of 12 thick, flat glass lites. Hardware: The door doesn't come with any hardware. A little more interesting than many I have seen. It is labelled F.S. Harmon& Co. FS Harmon is a Tacoma based company that made furniture in the early 1900s. It is labelled on the bottom(pic#4) This library table dates to the 1910s to 1920s. An interesting thing on this desk. Is that the drawer has a hidden spring activated lock below the drawer which is original. You pull the spring knob down(pic#3) and you can open and close the drawer. If you don't pull the spring knob, it doesn't open. Condition is fair to good for age. Finish is old and possibly original. I noticed an area on the top wear the finish is quite worn. I noticed a few rings on the top of the table. Could use ... morea coat of wax but looks nice as is. There are some scuffs and dings on the edges from age and use. Normal scuffs, dings, and scratches from age and use. No breaks or repairs. Overall a very nice example of antique Washington State produced furniture. These chairs are a matching set of Mr. Mrs. Mission style rocking chairs. One of the chairs is a tad bit smaller and closer to the ground. They are in perfect condition They were painted light green when I purchased them. I do professional antique restoration and I stripped and finished them. They have many coats of hand-rubbed finish on them. I have finished them in a mixture I combine myself so they are weather resistant and have some UV protection. Please do not subject them directly to the elements.use on a covered. Sheltered porch. They also will look beautiful as fireside or living room seating. The wood that they are crafted from is quarter sawn resulting in what is called"Tiger Oak" and it is simply beautiful. Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. This is an antique coat. Glove and hat rack. I believe it is from the early 1900s. It is approximately 32" wide, 20" high and 9" deep. I think that the wood is oak. It is in good condition for its age. The metal brackets are intact and have just a little surface rust. The mirror is foggy due to age and the material that it is made of. Antique Arts & Crafts Mission Oak Tall Case Clock/Great black stain!
A very fine. Circa 1900, antique Arts& Crafts Mission Oak Tall Case Clock finished in black stain. It has excellent provenance as shown by the letter in my photos- it was owned by the President of Boston Edison, so it came from a well-to-do Boston family. That correspondence will be included in the sale. The structure is made out of oak with what looks to be the original black stain. I do not see any maker's mark on either the clock or the works. Size is impressive: 77&1/2" high, 18&1/2" wide and 14&1/2" deep. The chains are finished with wonderful original carved acorn pulls. The original weights are a study in the Arts& Crafts Movement itself- they have a simple, yet stylish shape typical of the Period. Each weight is about 7 pounds. The chain runners going through the housing are porcelain. The pendulum ... moreis finished in brass- the stylized numbers on the face and the hands look to be original and made of brass. Condition is as found and as shown. The clock has been running great(and keeping good time) for the few days we have owned it. However, I have not heard it gong, but I assume with some tinkering, it will. The hammer is there, etc- I don't know enough about clocks to know why it is not sounding on the hour. I think most of the black stain finish is original. There may be some later black stain or paint on a portion of the slats on the back. Tilted in the light, you can see it is more opaque than most of the oak- most of the oak has a strong feeling of the grain of the wood showing through the stain. The slats in question cannot really be seen behind the pendulum and weights. Finally, there is one rivit missing on the lower left side of the clock. Structurally it is very sound- the finished end of the rivit is gone. Overall, this is a beautiful, simply-designed clock that could fit in virtually any decor. Art& Crafts Mission Oak 1905 Antique Sofa. Authentic furniture from the Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak period about 1905. This sofa has a quarter sawn oak frame. The old satiny finish is in very fine condition with minor mars at the edges. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its antique patina. Upholstery is recent. There are spots on the tops of the seat cushions and a rip on the cording of the reverse side, see photos. Soft fabric is not worn, the seat is firm and comfortable. The plant grew from a modest start until by 1900 it covered twelve acres and employed some 800 workers. This enterprise was known as the Mattoon Manufacturing Company until the founder's death in 1904. The name was then changed to the Northern Furniture Company. In 1916 the firm was bought by the Reiss interests(of the C. Reiss Coal Company, a prominent name in Wisconsin) The company continued to manufacture tables, desks, bookcases and buffets apparently through 1949. Intense tiger-striped grains, cleaned original finish, great detail, dark golden brown hues, nice patina, unusual and elegant design. It has a raised and carved face and a 1" wide inner gesso frame. Very solid, tight, NO separation/age shrinkage to the corners, some wear to the old original finish. It holds an old restrike of a bird's eye view of Boston. The print is in excellent antique condition with no stains or rips, does have some wrinkling. The face frame is about 4" across and measure approximately 23" x 27 1/2" outer dimensions, 16" x 20" inner dimensions. Original label on this Lakeside Craft Shops piece. Original finish as well. In very nice condition. But please remember this is about 100 years old so has that antique look and light wear. This must have had an insert(perhaps copper) but is gone. You can see shadow lines where the rim(of this missing piece) was atop this. Nice sturdy solid frame and joints. Measures 22 5/8" high.The top is 10 3/4" across. Hole measures 6 7/8" diameter. All the original plugs are in their respective holes on all 9 legs. It is depicted Straight out of the Arts& Crafts Mission era, it is pegged quatersawn oak. It measures approx. 21" x 12" x 29" tall. Note 33" tall to the top of the four peaks. It is missing its copper pan, but other than that in fantastic condition. Here is an Antique and really a wonderful Rocking Chair. I think. And ONLY THINK, This may have been a Salesman Sample. May have been made for a doll. It is so well made, which leads me to believe that is a Salesman Sample. But, Might be something else. It is old!
