Designed by Milo Baughman, first released in 1955 these models are from the first year's production lines. Dog Bone" handles. Ample space, silver Elm wood, they are great looking. The top of the Buffet was refinished though there is still faint indications of a deep scratch. Minor scuffs here and there and the hutch has some discoloration on one side which I have seen occur in other products produced from Elm. Overall very very acceptable and very clean with no stains in the drawers or on the two shelves. This is a very hard piece to come by and is sought after. The glass is 3/4" thick and is massive. The visiable area of the glass is in excellent condition, there are two corners that have small chips but they are way inside the columns and not visible while in use. The columns are made from polished aluminum and are in good vintage condition showing normal wear. If desired, you could polish these cylinders up to a mirror finish. Offered is this mid century modern chrome bench. Looks like Baughman but there are no makers marks. A nice quality bench with solid steel flat bar chrome plated Y shaped legs and yellow or tan vinyl quilted upholstery. In very good vintage condition with a small puncture in the upholstery(as pictured) otherwise its nice a clean. The chrome legs have oxidation and rust spots but is shiny overall. It's possible the legs could be clean up or polished. The bench measures 45" long by 18" wide and is 16" high. Perfect piece for a hallway. Foyer or at the foot of your bed. Design Institute America Milo Baughman Mid Century Brass & Glass 3 Ring Table
Absolutely amazing 3 ring occasional table by Milo Baughman for Design Institute Of America. The table is in excellent condition and retains all the original 1/4" glass inset tops. I didn't shoot them due to reflections but they are all present and free of chips or noticeable scratches. The tables top two rings spin 360 degrees so there are multiple positions the table can be displayed in. The top two rings measure 19" inside diameter. The larger rings are 27" inside diameter and the entire piece is 14" tall. Again. This piece is very well made and very impressive in person. No dents dings or rust. Chromed steel sled based desk with parquetry bamboo covered casement and inset black glass writing surface. Has chrome pulls on the pair of drawers. Designed by Milo Baughman circa 1970. Desk is in overall very good condition but does show some light wear that would be commensurate with age. The bamboo parquetry desktop is actually a bit more whitewashed in color than depicted in the pictures here due to the lighting. The chrome sled base surfaces are all still very shiny. Will have few minor scratches and dings, and have little(if any) oxidization. It does look as if a bamboo strip that was originally on the front edge of the desk that encased the glass was removed to fit a larger piece of smoked glass in the space that would extend to the far edge of the desk instead of the bamboo fully encasing the glass. This is a gorgeous and rare oval shaped expandable dining table by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. This table came in a few different styles and this was the largest made. This is similar to the more well known rectangular table he designed and is identical in construction. This table stretches to over 9" when both leaves are added. It is in near mint condition. The glass is scratch and chip free except for a miniscule 1 1/2" scratch that was so minor I couldn't get it to show up in the pictures. In pic#10 is one of the four expanders. Each of these shows very minor pitting on the inside. Obviously, these are covered when the leaves are in place. As seen in pic#11 one of the leaves has slight scratches and pitting. It is in mint condition. There are no stains holes or rips. It is a little shorter than most sofas but very deep so it could be used as a loveseat as well. The structure is very cool. The seat cushions do not touch the bottom of it so you can see right through the sofa. There are hooks and rings on the two seat cushions and sofa to hold them in place. Vintage 1970s Milo Baughman Style Cube Sofa Couch Mid Century Modern. G reat looking sofa. In pretty rough shape and will need a complete rehab. Worth the trouble, has a really cool shape. I do not know the maker, the labels have been removed. In the style of Milo Baughman, probably dating from the 1970s. Measures 24" tall(not including pillow) x 81 1/4" wide x 34 1/2" deep. Seat height is 16" Poor Condition. Signs of water damage-has water stains and a faint musty smell. Was stored in a basement and not well cared for. Definitely needs re-upholstery. This auction is for the actual item(s) as pictured. I find all of my items at estate sales and antique stores. I do not repair any items or do anything other than a light cleaning and dusting. All items are sold as-found. I will do my best to note any flaws. I do not know the maker, the labels have been removed. In the style of Milo Baughman, probably dating from the 1970s. They measure 23 1/2" tall(to top of frame not including pillow) x 33" wide x 34" deep. Poor Condition. Signs of water damage-have water stains and a faint mildewy smell. These were stored in a basement and not well cared for. Definitely need re-upholstery. One has a hole cut in the side under the pillow. One wooden plinth is water damaged and in poor condition, and will need repair or replacement. It has several nails in it, and has warping& separation of the wood, as well as veneer loss.
