VINTAGE MID-CENTURY MODERN SUPERIOR FURNITURE TO SMALLER SCALE TIN TOY DOLLHOUSE
DESCRIPTION: This is a group of 37 pieces(the bed is 2 separate pieces) of mixed furniture. Fixtures, and appliances that would have been used in a Superior lithographed tin dollhouse from the 1950’s to 1960’s. There are items for every room in the house, including: living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry, bedroom, bathroom, and nursery. There are even a couple of pieces for the patio. It is a bit smaller scale than the usual size that was used in Marx dollhouses, but there ARE some Marx houses that it would fit into. A lot of the pieces are marked with the Superior name in a flag logo. MATERIALS: Vinyl or soft plastic DIMENSIONS: The refrigerator and pink dresser with mirror are each about 3 inches tall. CONDITION: Overall in GOOD TO VERY GOOD. PLAYED-WITH CONDITION. I looked them over for damage, and saw that the TV/ radio/ phonograph ... moreprobably had a picture glued to the TV screen that is now missing. Also, the pink vanity with mirror may have been lying against one of the dark blue pieces of furniture for many years, and it caused some light blue-ish discoloration on the mirror. One of the aqua sofa sections has a pin hole in the front. One table lamp that is attached to the bed frame has a bad factory mold flaw or chip out of the lamp shade. Many pieces have some degree of warping(mostly insignificant) that you would expect to see in 50 year old vinyl. They all still sit straight, and are very displayable. Some pieces could use a clean-up. If you collect Marx. Renwal, or Superior dollhouse furniture, or have an empty dollhouse to fill up, this will be a great addition to your collection. FYI: Our pictures are taken under bright incandescent camera lighting or using a flash that sometimes fades out the colors or makes them appear brighter. Outstanding vintage mid-century modern two-tiered end table made in the 1960's by Lane Furniture. This side or end table(no. 997-07) was made as part of the"Rhythm" collection. It is made from solid walnut. But has a lighter coloration, closer to teak. Clean, sleek modern lines were likely inspired by the Danish Modern movement. The underside of the table is stamped with serial numbers and the Lane mark. Overall, this table is in very good condition. However, there is some light wear and scratching consistent with use One watermark see photo. No breaks or repairs. The table stands 14 1/4" tall at the lower surface and 21 1/4" at the top tier. Purchased from an estate, all original(except I replaced the six old and worn cushions with six brand new ones that still have the tags) There looks to be no repair work ever done on this, like I said it is very sturdy. This is a very nice dining room set with only a few minor scratches and dings. It is very solid and well made by the Fancher Furniture Company in Salamanca. NY. The table is 66" L x 44" W, and has two leafs that are 17" each. The table pad is all there, but the seams are in need of repairs. There are 6 upholstered chairs in great shape with no tears, rips, or unraveling. There are a few very minor spots that I have not tried to clean. The side buffet is on wheels and is 18 1/2" W x 43 1/2" L plus has a 10 1/2" side wing. There is a ceramic tile for anything hot. The hutch is beautiful with sliding glass doors, a center flatware drawer, 2 lower drawers, and a large lower area to the left. The lower base measures 641/2" L x 20"W x 31"H. Welcome to Grandpa's Garage.where grandma is selling her things as well.Today for bid is Grandma's Plant stand that she used to display next to her piano so the plant's could hear her play as well as the stand has music notes I believe(not sure) on both sides of the stand. The stand was painted gold and has held up very well. It measures 24" tall by 25" long by 10" wide. It is a roller and the wheels are all present.
