I assume ... morethey did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. This beautiful old table is solid and extra-long. Based on its construction, I’m guessing that it’s around 100 years old. I have found no identifying marks. Overall Dimensions: 95 ¾” x 41 ½” x 30” L x W x H) Table Top: 93” x 39 ½” Distance from floor to bottom of the frame: 24 ½” Weight: 163 lbs. Each of the 4 massive legs is made up of 3 or 4 pieces that were glued together before being turned. The leg diameter about halfway up is 4 ¾” And the foot diameter is 5 ¼” There are a few scratches on the top. As you would expect to find on a table that was used for decades. The frame of the table has been repaired in a couple of places, and near one ... morecorner, glue is visible along the outside of the lower edge(see photo#6) There are a few vertical“stripes” around the perimeter, where dark stain ran down the sides. Two of the boards that make up the table top have separated slightly near one end, and the separation extends for a little more than a foot. Each leg is secured by a single square nut. Antique Victorian 1/4 Sawn Oak Library Table with Impressive Legs
Table measures 30 inches high and the top is 44 by 26. Flower wood appliqué on corners. Legs are a fancy spiral that ends in an impressive scalloped ball then a smaller. Smooth ball which holds the metal caster with wood wheel. Photo with soda can for size perspective. One drawer, measures 21 inch across has a brass pull. Top, shelf and drawer face are 1/4 sawn oak. There is a slight discoloration on table top. See photo. Finish is in good condition with a rich, warm patina. We purchased this table with this finish. Perfect table for a foyer or anywhere you want to have an impressive accent table. We have enjoyed this table but have to send it to a new home, due to downsizing.

1920s Spanish Revival Library Table Carved Top Turned legs Amazing Workmanship
This auction features what I believe to be a Spanish Revival library table. With what appears to be an Art Nouveau style carving on its top, and a beveled or grooved edge to the top all way around. The legs are cylindrical and turned, with ornate side panels connecting front and back that cap off the sides of the angled book rack shelving beneath the top. The table is rectangular and approximately 24-1/8" high by 24" wide and 12" deep. It has the original finish with fair patina for its age and mild wear and discoloration that is to be expected in an original piece of this nature. There is writing on the underside that I have not attempted to clean for fear of ruining the finish, so I will leave that to the professionals. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL. Antique, dining or library table. The table is solid wood and has been beautifully and artistically refinished in paint. The table features INTRICATE carved details on the top perimeter. There is an outer, pie crust" pattern along with a center veined leaf design. The inner border design features a carved/incised rope or barley twist accent. The table top is finished in a black crackled paint with silver paint applied to the leaf and rope patterns. The table pedestal is substantial in diameter and is accented with large, carved acanthus leaves. The table has four legs which are prominently curved. The legs possess carved acanthus leaves on their exterior profiles and carved scrolls on the interior. The legs are completed with wood, ball and lion paw/claw feet. Again, the base, legs and feet are ... morein black crackle paint. The acanthus leaves and scrolls are finished in silver. The table top is uniquely supported underneath with a boxed design support. The center box fits perfectly onto the table base and is secured with two long wood screws. This is a FABULOUS table. Because of the paint, I cannot tell what type of wood the table is made from. Judging by the weight, it is probably oak or walnut. The painted finish has been BEAUTIFULLY done(not by us) and the table is quite gorgeous. The top appears to be designed for a glass cover to fit just inside the carved borders as this area is recessed/lower than the carved area. There is no glass with the table, but a piece could be purchased to fit into the relief area. The table is very sturdy and in very nice condition. Beautiful art deco linesIt is painted a silvery gray color and has a medium gray linoleum top. There is also a gray rubber bumper that lines the edge. There are a few scratches in the paint here and there. But fewer than one would expect from a desk this age. I wish I could take pictures that do a little bit better job of showing the color and minute detail in the inlay work performed on this piece. So. Try to use your imagination. The table is nicer then the pictures reflect. To be sure as to rather or not this piece is from France or American made I cant be positive. However, I have been told it is French and over 100 years old. For sure this is the best inlay work I can remember seeing including the mother of pearl laid in place throughout the piece. A beautifully carved antique. Circa 1890's, Renaissance Revival quartersawn oak petite library table. The front two drawers have prominent north wind type pulls, the reverse with a faux north wind. The legs are partial spiral carved, with baluster cross stretchers, the bun feet on casters. It measures 31-1/2" tall by 42" wide by 28" deep. Very good condition: original finish, carvings and case without chips or cracks. There are three top boards, one of which has a butt joint separation to the other two, and with varnish chipping along that line, some minor stains or a ring spot to the top. Drawer interiors in plain maple, the bottoms chamfered.

We use it so seldom nowadays we’ve decided to let someone else enjoy it– someone younger perhaps– one who doesn’t simple take the book to bed and prop it up on bended knees. It’s on 360° swivel casters. And it rolls smoothly and easily. Below the slant ... moretop is a shelf. Which is where we always kept our big dictionary. In a way, I miss using it, but the online version is so much quicker and easier. Age? My best guess is anywhere from the late 1920s to 1940. But I could be off a little in either direction. The finish of the slant top is excellent and original. The top surface is 24” by 12 ½” with a rail all the way across the lower edge. It is a 2” slat. Which creates a 1” lip. I’ve never gotten it“up to speed. but I guarantee, if you ever push it along at a high rate of speed, these first quality casters won’t have a conniption fit like a grocery cart having a seizure. There is a dark ring inside. On the surface of the shelf. I have no idea how someone managed to do that. It wasn’t me. Thank goodness, you can’t see it unless you shine a light inside the opening. The selection of mahogany used is quite attractive. ... moreThe wood has a lovely color and patina. A key is present and all but the upper right hand drawer lock. That lock is broken. The drawer pulls are solid brass. The type of handle is a swan neck pull. A writing surface of fine, red leather adorns the top. The care and attention to detail that went into the construction of this antique writing desk is evident through the hand cut dovetails. Dovetails are the strongest way to join a drawer. They take careful precision to do properly. But offer the greatest longevity to the piece. You will also notice the back is fully finished which allows you to place the desk in the middle of a room if your layout requires that at any time. Overall this desk is in very good condition. It is strong. Sturdy, and will last for many years. The leather has sustained the most wear of the desk. You will notice in the accompanying pictures that the right side of the leather has a number of parallel lines which are hard to see unless you are looking closely. There is also a light colored stain near the middle. The mahogany has minor surface wear here and there, but is overall in very nice shape. The height from the floor to the bottom of the desk is 23.7

Antique Mahogany Library Table Desk with Single Pedestal - PRICE REDUCED!
This graceful. Pedestal desk is in good condition for its age. It was refinished many years ago after it was found abandoned in a Chicago area alley and has belonged to my husband for over 40 years. There are no manufacturer marks on it. It has one locking drawer with hand-made key. Drawer knobs are wood, but are probably not original to the piece. Drawer is 23 ¼” wide x 19 ¼” deep. India ink stains in the drawer give an indication of its age. Drawers have dove-tail construction and are solid wood. The top writing surface is in good condition, but there are some gouges and dents that give it‘character’ The pedestal is 31 ½” wide and is 19 ½” in depth. There is some veneer chipped off of one of the pedestal ends and some surface scratches on the base of the legs as shown in the pictures.
