Up for Auction. Vintage Wabash 4 Drawer Dovetailed Library Card Catalog Cabinet. Solid Wood. Wabash Cabinet Company from Wabash. Indiana was a turn of the century cabinet company that made filing cabinets of assorted shapes and sizes This is a very solid piece of craftsmanship. Dovetailed joints and very rich rustic looking wood and hardware. There are some scratches on it but it only to me adds to the character. I am not certain the wood it is made from. When researching it I get a few different answers so I will just say it is a very solid piece of wood. 25LBS. It in 15 1/2 deep. 13 1/2 wide, 9 3/4 tall. Very nice piece for display. Ive seen a couple used as recipe holders.

Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. Here's an antique quartersawn oak library card catalog. Made around 1920-1930. It has the4-drawer configuration with it's original adjustable card supports, brass hardware. This file is a great example of the quality American craftsmanship of the first half of the twentieth century, with beautiful oak woodgrain patterns, dovetailed drawer construction, and raised arts and crafts side panels.This particular file also has nifty brass rods that allow the top to come off in case you have other units that you would like to stack. Please look at the photos to see how nice this is. Dimensions are 16" wide by 13" tall. By 19" deep. It holds the 3 by 5 inch index cards. The top is walnut veneer, which has some chipping and the one side has some marks that look like a child's doodling. Hi. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Globe Wer. Co. library catalog file cabinet/box. I believe it is made out of Tiger Oak. All the joints are dovetailed. This was an estate find. I have done nothing to it-no polish or Old English. It is a beautiful piece of History and would make a wonderful addition to someone's personal library! All the drawers are made to fix 3"x5" index cards and they all are still in fine working condition. Large 90 Drawer Vintage Oak Library Card Catalog File Cabinet- 53" X 34" X 18" Vintage Oak Card Catalog File Cabinet This listing is for a 90 drawer vintage library card catalog file. The cabinet is constructed of quarter sawn oak and the individual drawers have oak fronts and(I think) maple bottoms/sides. The drawers are made with dovetailed construction. The previous owner put a removeable masonite bottom on almost all drawers which was more suitable than the metal slides for dividers for storing small items(see photos of a few different drawers. A couple of the drawers have adjustable dividers. Most are plain. All of the hardware is present with the exception of one drawer pull. The back is open but the drawers have stops and they will not push through. If the unit goes against a wall. A back would not be necessary. The ... morecabinet measures 53" tall X 33-1/2" wide X 18" deep. I'm told that the weight is over 300 lbs. It is a 4 drawer cabinet that has the original slide adjusters in each drawer. It is dovetailed made as pictured. The cabinet measures 19 ¾” x 16” and 13 ¾” tall. It is in great shape as pictured. It is solid oak except for the back which is a veneer. There are some chips in the back veneer as pictured… nothing big. On one side. As you can see from the pictures the piece could use a little love but it is extremely solid- the drawers open and shut as designed and the tab to support the index cards will move back and forth as supposed to. Aside from the small area on the back of the piece where a piece of the wood chipped off. All of the original wood is in nice condition. Up for auction is this really nice vintage library card cabinet by Globe Wernicke from Cincinnati.It is a 2 drawer unit. I don't know when it was produced. It still has a paper label on the inside of the cabinet that has the makers name and the stain number. The drawers have dovetails. The cabinet does not. There is a small strip of the veneer missing on the back panel of the cabinet at the bottom approx. 1/2' wide see photo no. 5. It also still has the catalog brass medallion on the side see photo no. 6. It has been refinished at 1 time or another. But seems to still be it's original color. For sale are library card catalog rods made using a steel rod and what appears to be aluminum or nickel plated brass handles. These were removed from a built in cabinet at a local middle school library which was being renovated. These rods are 17 1/2" long overall. The rod portion is 5/32" thick and the aluminum head is designed to snap into an 11/32" opening. These could be shortened for use in different cabinets. For sale are what I believe to be Oak drawer fronts from a vintage library card catalog(They are definitely some type of hardwood) These were removed from a built in cabinet at a local middle school library which was being renovated. They have brass pulls that have a satin nickel plated finish. There is some normal wear on the items. But they are all in great lightly used condition. Gaylord Bros Inc. 60-Drawer Card Catalog Cabinet This beautiful cabinet was recently removed from a middle school that is scheduled for demolition. The cabinet comes apart into four sections for easy moving. Each section has 15 drawers. There is also a base/riser section. Two pull-out table sections, and a top cap. There is a mix of wood and plastic drawer bodies. I would guess that two of the units came with wood drawers and two were added later with plastic drawers. All of the drawer faces are the same, though if you look very closely the guide rod is slightly different in appearance. One guide rod is missing and a couple are loose or slightly bent. The top of the cabinet shows some wear. I also noticed some damage around one of the clips that helps align the sections when they are stacked up, but it is not visible when the units are stacked. ... moreOtherwise it has survived decades of middle school use in very nice condition. Item is in fair condition with minor surface scratches. Finger joint construction. Back finger joint had lid bracket pulled out and is reflected in picture. Lid has a split next to finger joint damage. Look at picture. Their is damage to it. I had this in my vintage office for display and worked very well as the damage is hidden. Up for auction is an excellent vintage wooden two drawer card catalog. This piece measures 16 1/2 x 15 7/8 x 6 5/8" and features two drawers with dovetail detail. This is a vintage piece. So it does show sign of past use, including scratches, scrapes, and dings on the surfaces. At some point, it looks as though the original drawer pulls were replaced with metal knobs, which you can see in the photographs. The drawers still have the metal card catalog framework inside, and I can move the framework back and forth from the bottom. I have not cleaned or polished this piece, but I would imagine that it would look even better with a little care. Please view the photos carefully, as they best describe the condition of the item being sold.

Here is a really nice antique tiger oak library Index 4 drawer Card Catalog made by Amberg File& Index. Genuine. Circa early 1900's. Nice aged patina. Quarter sawn oak construction with dovetailed drawers. I am not sure all are the original drawer pulls-the bottom 2 are the same, but the other 2 are different. All 4 drawers have label holders. Drawers open and close smoothly. The original block of wood inside the drawer remains in all 4 drawers. It measures approx. 15 1/2 inches x 15.5 inches and 11.75 tall. Nice, well built. Weighs about 26 lbs. Shows ordinary wear, dings, markings etc. Very good overall condition. There is a half torn off label with a zip code from Rittman, Ohio on the side. Very nice collectible!

The construction is very nice with dove tail joints and is still in good shape as far as the stability. Each drawer has a card hold the works to keep them from falling back if the drawer isn't full. Early Primitive Library Card Catalog Harvard College Size Patent 1892-1903
Up for bid is one of the earliest and most beautiful library card catalogs that I have encountered. It is the size of a coffee table. Without the legs. This has patent dates of Mar. 15, 1892- May 26, 1903. If you look up the history, I used the website, Library History Buff" to do some research and what is found is that this catalog is one of the early forms that were made. From the double wide drawers, to the 2" x 5" size of the cards that fit the drawers. These 2" x 5" cards are called Harvard College size. These were one of the two standard sizes adopted at the first American Library Association conference in 1877. These smaller catalog cards were abandoned by 1925 due to the fact that when the catalog cards were tightly packed, it was difficult to read the text towards the bottom of the card. The catalog. Being ... moreover 110 years old, is in beautiful condition. The only defect is that there is a chip off the top of the front left side. Shown in photo#4. It does not at all take away from the beauty of the catalog. There are 3 missing wooden slides for the drawers that hold the patent stickers. The brass pulls are also missing and brass screws were put in to fill the holes. The catalog measures 42"wide, 23 1/2" deep and 13 5/8" tall. There are 9 double wide drawers that measure 12 1/2" wide and 3 3/4" tall. Like I said before, each divided side holds a card 2" x 5" There is beautiful"alligatoring" of the finish on the top. And the catalog has georgeous paneling on its sides and the back. I always said that it is hard to display because the backside looks so good, you don't want to hide it. It does have the original hardware including the"Library Bureau Solemakers" tag on the front. It also has a stamp on the inside of one of the drawers"COM. OF MASS. and on the top right front drawer, there is a brass circle tag that says"M D P W-18- 349" I am not sure where it was actually used but the, COM. OF MASS stamp tells me th

Vintage Industrial Wood Card Catalog Four Drawer Library Index Card Organizer
Measures 13x13 1/2 x 9 inches. It could use some attention like a refinish. I will leave that up to the new owner. It does not have a maker but does have four capital letters on the left upper corner(FBVE) which I believe it stands for Federal Board Of Vocational Education. And to the right the numbers 2- 1006. It is made of wood and appears to have some light water damage on the bottom. All four drawers open and close without a problem. It also appears to have all its original hardware.
