This is a beautiful original wrought iron bed about 100 years old. It was professionally restored several years ago and I also have the slats to go with it. Perfect for a day bed or a child's room. i have a Vintage 1890's Victorian French Iron/Brass Bed with Mother of Pearl Motif on both ends. This is an extremly old bed that is well preserved for it's age. I tried to take pictures from all angles. I have not tried to repaint or refinish this piece. I thought someone might want to do it differently. There is only some surface rust and all the pieces except three small brass pieces on the footboard are all their including all four casters. The missing pieces are the little cap that goes on the horizontal cross bar, the little brass section that goes down from the cross bar on the footboard to the mother of pearl emblem and one other little small brass cap. This bed has the following measurements, the headboard is 60 inches tall x 53 inches wide, the footboard is 48 inches high x 53 inches wide, the bed itself measures 54 inches ... morefrom side to side, the mother of pearl emblems on each end measures 60 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide. Wonderful turn of the century(late 1800's or early 1900's) tubular iron and brass bed. Simple brass ball-shaped knobs top each of the four posts and a decoration supports the center of each brass rail. The painted white iron stiles are decorated by simple trefoil designs at the joints. Both side rails are included. Over all this piece is in good condition. There is a little wear to the paint. But no breaks or visible repairs. When assembled. Old white iron round tube type full size bed
I don't know for sure when this bed was made. But think it may be late 1800's or early 1900's. My husband refinished it about a year ago. Has high gloss white paint on it. He put new rollers on it, too. It's the round pipe like bent, see in the pic. The rails are the tapered peg(pin) type that fit in slots on the head and foot boards. Dimensions: 74 1/4" long from tip to tip. 68 3/4" long between the cast iron ends. The pins are 1" wide at the top and taper to 3/4" at the bottom. This bed is the highly desirable'mountain top' or also called'triple hump' style bed with fancy iron castings including angel faces on both the head and foot boards(see photos) The bed is a standard full size 54" wide. But someone has already had the rails extended in length so they can acomidate a queen size boxspring and mattress which is longer also wider than the old style fullsize. The bed measures 67 1/2" tall and 54" wide. The footboard is 51" tall. A modern queen size boxspring or foundation is 60" wide and 78" long. Old Antique Ornate Wrought Iron Bed, Aged Red Paint, Cast Iron Decoratives, Full
Here's a nice old or antique wrought iron bed we received recently with some estate items. This one is probably from the 1880's to perhaps 1920's with red paint and an assortment of what appear to be cast iron decorative pieces for an ornate appearance. I'm not sure what style this would be called but these decorative pieces and curved lines might be called an art nouveau style versus a primitive style. The red paint has signs of age and use giving it a nice naturally aged appearance. Though some may elect to paint it. This is a full size bed with the space between the rails at about 53.5 inches and the space between the headboards about 75 inches. The headboard stands about 61 inches or slightly over 5 feet tall, and the foot board is about 46 inches tall at the tallest point. The angle iron cross bar brace piece at the bottom ... moreof the headboard has been broken at some point. The other connective pieces hold the headboard together well but this should be braced, clamped or tack welded by someone handy. This bed is relatively clean but has been stored for some years and could use a little more light cleaning. Overall a nice antique wrought iron bed for those who seek functional furniture that provides an interesting decorative appearance. This bed is being listed for"Pickup Only" and is located about 15 minutes from the junction of Interstates 89 and 93 near Concord in central New Hampshire. Description We have for sale a beautiful queen size vintage country french style iron toleware headboard from a very nice estate. This is a lovely piece that is hand painted with a gold urn and lattice motif. The flame shaped center arch of the headboard is supported by two posts mounted with hand chased brass orbs. DIMENSIONS: The the tallest point of the center arch is 55" high and the two side posts are 49" high. The width is 62" The depth is 1.5" The weight is approximately 40-50 pounds. The headboard has a stretcher rail allowing it to be mounted to an existing bed frame. The stretcher has a hairline crack but it does not hinder mounting the headboard to an existing frame or distract from the beauty of it.
