VINTAGE FLOUR BIN FOR HOOSIER OR KITCHEN CABINET Here is an old tin flour bin that came out of a Hoosier type kitchen cabinet. It has a glass window to see the flour level and a handle that cranks a sifter. The inside area where the sifter is has a good amount of rust and the wire screen has completely deteriorated and is not useable. I believe it can be replaced but am not positive. The rest of the bin appears to be in good condition with minimal wear and rust. Look at my many close up photos for condition description. It measures: Total height is 17.5" front and it slants to 16.5" high back. 11.75" wide across the front. 9" sides deep front to back. Square bin only without spout dispenser is about 10.5" high. This is a similar idea first used by The Hoosier Manufacturing Company that used a"Want List" and later a"Hoosier Daily Reminder" which the housewife used to remind her of what she needs before she goes shopping at the store. She would either put a tack beside the item she needed or pointed a hand like on a clock to the item she needed before going to the store. The actual name of the company that this was made for is"The Boone Campbell Smith Richie Co. in Lebanon. Indiana. They were one of the larger and better kitchen cabinet manufacturers in their day. Up for auction is an antique tin flour bin for a hoosier or sellers cabinet. The handle turns easily to sift the flour. The brackets to attach to the cabinet are there. The top is bent a little but looks like it just sits on the top and fits into the groove. There are some scratches. Paint loss, small dings and surface rust from years of use. Hezzie and the Hoosier Hot Shots was a"rube' band in the 1930's and 40's. Hezzie was renknowned for his slide whistle technique. You don't see these come around every day. Made in the USA by Trophy Products. Measures approx 9.5" long. The whistle is in excellent condition except the mouthpiece slides on/off.both the inside of the mouthpiece and the tube are clean(as a whistle) and could be held with an adhesive if preferred. I am individually listing several thimbles that were donated to the local Humane Society by a generous benefactor who had been collecting thimbles for several years. Most of these thimbles were acquired new in the 1970s and 1980s. The collector stored these thimbles. Choosing not to display them. Many are still in their original boxes, and the dates of acquisition were established because the original sales receipts were stored with the thimbles. It is a pewter thimble that features Indiana and some of its finest attributes. It measures about 1 1/4 inches tall and is in perfect condition. Beautiful antique Hoosier style/type of kitchen cupboard/cabinet for sale. This beautiful piece of wood furniture appears to be either pine or maple. But not sure. It has a wonderful natural wood, fine, soft finish, fine wood details, beautifully curved lower drawers, turned legs, and very nice wood knobs, all of which make this piece of furniture stand out and complement it's character beautifully. Displays of antique jars, tins, cans look terrific on the cupboard/cabinet! I have owned this cupboard/cabinet since the early 1970's and believe it to be one of the nicest antique kitchen cupboard/cabinets that I have ever seen and that is available for sale today.

Original Antique 1900's Boone Hoosier Tin Litho Canister Set- 8 Piece Set
Up for auction is this relatively. Rare, hard to find, 8 piece, Boone Hoosier Cabinet Canister Set consisting of Coffee, Tea, Allspice, Cloves, Baking Powder, Ginger, Cream of Tartar, and Cinnamon. These Sets were most commonly associated with Boone Kitchen Cabinets. Some of these canister sets were marked. Boone" these are not. As you can probably tell from the pictures. This set certainly shows its age. which is early 1900's- The Coffee Canister(7" high. 4" wide) shows most of its wear on the lid but does have the original knob on top. The word"Coffee" is very legible. The"Tea" Canister(5" high, 3 1/4" wide) is pretty much in the same shape. Although worn. None of the 8 tins have any rusted through spots, nor do they have any significant denting or wear to litho. Of the Spice Tins(5" ... morehigh, 2 1/4" in diameter) they vary in condition with most of the rusty, worn areas on the top shaker parts and rims. Three spices have shaker lids with original close tops. The photo pretty well tells the condition story on all of these tins. VINTAGE ROUND HOOSIER SUGAR COOKIE COLONIAL PATTERN JAR
Up for your bid is a vintage Hoosier round sugar jar. This is a paneled pattern with a slant texture to the top. There is no lid or wire holder(the jar has a faint line in the glass from resting on a wire holder. The jar is 8 inches high and 8 inches in diameter; the top opening is 4 3/4 in diameter. The bottom is marked Pat Apl 1924. Embossed in the glass. There are a couple of areas of edge roughness along the top opening and some scratches on the exterior.
