This is a vintage modern bedroom 4 drawer dresser. Made by Bassett. The frame is solid wood, painted black, and the drawers are wood, with a natural wood walnut veneer. Looks very similar in style to some very high end designer pieces produced by milo baughman and Robert baron for Glenn of California. The back is unfinished. Stamped with a code by the manufacturer, and has a 3" hole that has been patched up. However, since the dresser sits against a wall, the hole will never be seen. The top drawer slide runner is damaged, so the top drawer doesn't slide perfectly, but is still completely functional. Top drawer also has small nail holes on top and bottom edge, but Arnt really noticeable during day-to-day use. This lovely chest of drawers measures about 52 inches high and is 36 inches wide and 18 inches deep. Solid Maple with Dovetail construction. back and drawer bottoms are plywood. Antique Bonnet-ed Mahogany Highboy 1790- 1840. Found in an estate in Munson Township. Geauga County, Ohio. We have gone over this piece extensively, and so have many other professionals in the appraisal business, and we are confident it is an original built sometime between 1790- 1840 most likely in Connecticut. It is a very ornate, all hand carved, which is uncommon for these of highboys. Only other one we have found online that even comes close to looking like this one is in an antique shop in New York City. The piece is in very very good condition for its age. Does have wood cracks and chips here and there from being moved over the last 175 years or so. On a scale of 1-10 on condition this piece is a high 8. Any questions please ask before bidding. Rare burled flaming maple with princess beveled mirror highboy/tallboy dresser from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Solid wood construction with serpentine front. Cabriole legs set on wooden castors. Each drawer is solid wood as shown dovetailed construction each with it's own escutcheon and skeleton keyhole(keys not included) bottom full sized drawer is missing the solid brass escutcheon. Fine American Chippendale Walnut Highboy Antique Tall Chest of Drawers, PA c1790
AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS OVER OGEE FEET Pennsylvania c. 1790 Item# 410QNP11W A bold and impressive object. This fine American Chippendale Tall Chest of Drawers originates in southeastern Pennsylvania, possibly the Delaware River Valley. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the cabinetmaker choosing vivid walnut planks carefully to showcase the most important and striking aspects of the chest. Note in particular the wonderful flowing grains along the sides of the case, the overall horizontal flow of the grain along the front of the drawers lapsing in random swirls and burls of the plank. The case is crested by cove molding projecting over three small drawers, two medium drawers and four broad drawers- all carefully graduated to flow harmoniously together. Noteworthy are the two drawers with patches, not unusual for these cases ... morewith overhanging lips on the drawers- these are particularly susceptible to being damaged when a drawer is closed unevenly or too harshly, as is probably the case with one or both of these drawers. The repairs were done rather competently, the restorer having to carefully choose boards with at least as much figure as the neighboring parts of the drawers. The drawers are embellished with replaced pierced brass hardware. The frames handsomely dovetailed white pine with integral runners mitered to accept the chamfered white pine bottom, mostly crafted of a single huge plank of pine, this tacked along the back edge with iron nails. The drawers are flanked by fluted corinthian columns with turned caps and bases, the whole case resting over very striking and significant ogival feet. They project an unusual sense of strength and masculinity, each with soft scroll cut returns and resting over thin blades. The back of the case shows the simple and tidy construction we expect from the best craftsmen of this region, the triangular rear foot supports dovetailed into the facings for a permanent joint. She painted it green(ARGH!I’ve never stopped giving her grief about it:^) I stripped/refinished it back in the 70s, and it’s been in constant use since then. It’s in overall GORGEOUS condition. No damage anywhere EXCEPT on the top where my sister placed a plant without protection(another ARGH! The spot is very slightly warped…I’m 99.9% sure that it could be sanded out, but I chose to leave it(didn’t want to mess with the aged finish) Otherwise, other than a bit of green paint remnants here and there(nothing obvious) it’s in fantastic condition. No wobbles…firmly seated. Dovetailed drawers are all solid/function perfectly. All are unlined except for one of the small center ... moredrawers…it had been lined in(worn) red felt for years; I recently replaced the felt. Perfectly functioning side cupboards. Description Fine 18th century highboy with beautiful burl walnut veneer and cabriole legs ending in club feet. Made in New England. Torus molding below the cornice is the front to a hidden drawer. This is an earlier highboy and was made circa in 1725-1750. Provenance: Northeast Auctions. Portsmouth, NH. Dimensions 69 inches high. 22 inches wide, and about 18.5 inches deep. 69x22x38 Condition The condition of the highboy is very good for its age. It is structurally sound with nice color. The are some places where small amounts of the veneer is missing(see photos) But this is normal for a pieces of this age and I don't believe it takes away from its appearance. Its back panels are fastened with very nice rose head nails and frankly all toll these do not get any finer. We have brought some of the very finest 18th Century Highboys to market in the United States over the last few years and this is something of our ongoing experiment if this sales platform is mature enough for this caliber of material. Vintage/Antique 2 Part Mahogany Highboy by W.A. Hathaway circa late 1920's/1930's. The piece has a total of 12 drawers all with identical and original brass pulls. There are 4 full drawers. 2 half drawers, and 6 third(1/3) drawers. All the drawers are of dovetail construction and maneuver in and out perfectly. Also, the interior of the drawers are in excellent condition. There are 3 finials at the top with a true bonnet top. Offered is a vintage highboy dresser featuring carved flower knobs! It has 10 drawers which are all dovetail construction, and two drawers have locks. But when I bought the piece 8 years ago from a private seller in Illinois. They did not have the keys, or any other information about it. It is heavy and sturdy. with no significant scratches. The largest dimensions are 56 inches tall(including both parts) 35 inches wide 20.5 inches deep Manufacturer and specific age unknown. Manufacturer numbers on upper piece is 1234 1/2 and numbers on main piece is 1264. The top piece just sets on top of the main piece making it much easier to move such a heavy dresser. The age I am guessing anywhere between 1900-early 1950s. I re-decorated my master bedroom into a mid-century modern theme and my other rooms do not need a dresser. Beautiful 3 pieces for your bedroom. All 3 pieces are in very good condition. Solid with dove tail drawer construction. Not sure of year it is from or what kind of wood. Ladies vanity has 2 drawers on either side then on the top of vanity on each side is a drawer. Wood posts are for mounting the mirror with hardware included. Lovely old antique solid oak highboy dresser from the turn of the century. It is 48.5 x 44 x 19.5" Very nice condition with a beautiful original mellow patina. There are a couple of discoloration spots on top and at the top of the backsplash the wood is chipped. It can only be seen from the back. Otherwise excellent shape.
