In great condition, has sort of a Swedish look to it. The enamel top does have a couple of spots where it has been scratched. The top pulls out on each side to make a wider table top, in tans and green design and the wooden part of the table has a green trim to it on legs and base. ANTIQUE circa 1800s WOOD SHEEP SHEARING TABLE, PRIMITIVE FARM TABLE
Up for Auction is a real nice old SHEEP SHEARING TABLE. The don't get much more primitive than this. It came out of the Pennsylvania area and I believe dates to the mid to late 1800s. The top and sides are made of a solid piece of wood that measures right at 30 3/4" wide. The sides are connected to the top by mortise and tendon joints and the cutting board and shelf are connected to the top with large old wood screws. It has a split on the top that is 45" long that was there when I bought it. The split doesn't effect the sturdiness of the table. The cutting board I believe was used to put the tools when shearing the sheep and the shelf was where the kept the tools. The lady I bought it from was using it as a coffee table. Beautiful old table made years ago here in NC. It's handmade with one working drawer in the side. With pencil style shaped legs. The drawer has a thin bottom and has an open slit at the front and a small hole near the front slit. Please see the picture on this. I've included many pictures so the table can be seen from every angle. The top is beautiful, made from only a few boards. I bought this at a NC auction earlier this year. It measures 28 1/2" from the floor to the table top, and 23" from the floor to the apron bottom. It's 48" long and 38 1/8" wide. I purchased it in an antique store in1990 in Ohio. I have never refinished it is in it's original state with all natural wear. This is handmade. The table top shows its wear and almost feels as smooth as glass. I believe the table may be Oak or Pine but have not ascertained the wood type. This is truly a wonderful piece. NOT a reproduction, NOT mass produced, but by a reputable furniture cabinet maker. The label is hard to discern but it is of an Ohio craftsmen possibly ... moreout of Marysville or this region in Ohio. The table is in good condition for its age but has normal fragility(the piece is over 100 years and has not been reinforced since it was in its original state and it shows no signs of repairs prior to my ownership, it would not be appropriate for heavy use but would be fine for a side table or very lightly used desk. He told me that the table top wood was heart pine and came from wood that was originally part of the old Millen, GA Charm Barn. Solid pine top constructed of 3 boards 1 5/16" thick with the following widths: 16" 9" and 11" 6 wonderfully turned legs attached to a stretcher assembly running the length of the table. Table dimensions are: 12' in length. 3' in width. 32.25" in height. This table retains is original white paint surface. It can be cleaned and preserved to retain an authentic. Distressed patina or to showcase the grain and quality of the boards, turnings, and construction, it could also serve as a statement piece restored with a natural finish. AMERICAN SCRUBBED TOP BLUE PAINTED HARVEST TABLE Mid 19th Century Item# 1407FAE25P The top is crafted of three huge planks of worn pine joining eachother with tongue-in-groove construction with neat rows of iron hand forged nails affixing the top to the frame. The frame is dense yellow pine with what appears to be an early and possibly original blue painted surface. Though we are not certain of the age of the paint. The table is austere and simple in form and construction, not showing waste or embellishment beyond what is absolutely necessary to achieve desired clean lines- a thin beading is carved into the lower edge of the apron around the table. The underside is clean and appears to be untouched, each leg blocked with a pair of perfectly rectangular yellow pine glued blocks. A picture of simplicity. PRICE REDUCED from $2.500! I purchased this table from an antique dealer in Statesboro. GA in 2008. He said the table top wood was heart pine and came from wood that was originally part of the old Millen, GA Charm Barn. When they tore down the Charm Barn, the antique dealer got some of the heart pine wood. He sent it to a wood craftsman in Atlanta who built the table. It measures 8'10' Long x 34" Wide x 30" High. Seats up to 10. Very heavy. Nice piece of history and an AWESOME table! This table will surely be one that can be passed down through generations. YOU WILL LOVE IT! Recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland. This beautiful antique oak trestle base table with carved feet stands 29 inches tall and measures 66 inches long by 32 1/2 inches wide. This table has gorgeous wood grains seen best on the top surface and on it's turned ballast legs and carved feet. The top surface is not quite perfect but is overall exceptionally nice for a piece this age. It does have some of the age appropriate expected minor nicks. An Antique most likely dating to the 1890's Solid Oak Table. in primitive as found condition. a very unique table. folded up it measures 44 by 29 inches. It has a leaf at each end that folds up to make an oval table that measures 48 by 60 inches. It will then expand to make a table that measures 44 by 96 inches. But the center leafs are missing. you would have to fabricate your own. Or I can give you some oak boards to do that. This table is unique it that it comes with a fifth leg that fits in the center for when you expand the table.The finish is worn off the fifth leg. Lot of 3 wooden chairs. They appear to be handmade. They are approx. 33 inches tall. The seat is approx 14.5x15.5 inches. I believe these are oak. But I am not an expert on wood, so please judge for yourself. They need some TLC. The wood is rough in spots with some staining, maybe a paint spot or two, a split in the wood at the seat back, as shown in photo) some loose nails or joints.very primitive. They could use a refinishing or they could be used the way they are with their added character, just add a cushion! They may need to be tightened up a bit and some areas are a little loose, but you can sit in them as-is. Table: 31" Ht. Table top: 19" Square by 2" Deep. Tier: 11" Square by 1" Deep. Weight: 6 lbs. very light. Spindle legs: 29.5" L x 1" Dia. Original paint and new accent paint. For a steam punk look. Table legs are slotted under top and fitted with irregular wooden pegs. Lower tier slotted also with flat head odd shaped screws. One foot of spindled leg is missing small piece. See pic# 4. This delightful scrubbed top American Painted Harvest Table is of a perfect size to compliment a hallway, as a side table or an occasional table against the wall. It remains mostly untouched after nearly two centuries of use, the finish having been refreshed at least once over the years, the structure still retaining all original blocking. The form is distinctly Neoclassical, the scrubbed top projecting over a neat frame of tenon-mortise construction resting on unembellished tapering legs. The surface is very dry and oxidized, positively magnetic in every way. It will certainly be cherished in your collection for a lifetime.
