The contemporary version of this chair is made of polypropylene. Which in our opinion, is not a patch on these original fibreglass models, which age beautifully. In very good overall condition. With just a couple of small scuffs here and there, in keeping with its age, but nothing noticeable. A stunning chair- a totally classic. Very collectable piece. The seat and base will be dismantled for safer shipping but can be bought fully assembled if so desired- please message. If you prefer other bases please let as know as we have many options so no problem at all. This is a generic listing so the chair you receive may be different to the one in the photos but all the shells we sell are in identical condition with no major marks or cracks and the base is in good vintage condition. Vintage Herman Miller Charles Eames Fiberglass arm chair (red) DAX
This chair is in vary good condition for it's age. Early model with the(3) brio dots and a Z in the middle(pictured) I took pictures of the worse spots on the chair. Not really that bad. Besides that. The chair is in great condition and it looks beautiful. Purchased from the original owner. The base is not perfect, but it does not have any rust. I also took a picture of the letters AX stamp on the front part of the chair, I believe that this is DAX model(dinning& desk chair) from the early models. Will ship the shell and base to most US state for $90. It will be taken apart. Note: Will be out of town from 08/03 to 08/07(Sturgis) That is the reason for the 15 day's to ship. EAMES ALEXANDER GIRARD DIAMOND CHECKER FABRIC Zenith OCHRE Chair Herman Miller!
For your consideration is one(1) super rare EAMES early Zenith fiberglass armshell in lovely ochre or tan covered with a stunning Alexander Girard-designed diamond and checkerboard fabric seat cover. Mounted on a vintage Eiffel base sans glides. An amazing collector's chair. Ideal for Eames and/or Girard fans. Every part of this chair is vintage. Overall great condition for a piece that's about six decades old. The vintage Eiffel base has typical rust and oxidation and one rod has a very slight bend but isn't too noticeable at first glance. There's some typical wear on the fabric cover. As depicted. All the shock mounts of the Zenith armshell are original. But the 2 rear ones were reinforced by epoxy by the original owner, with some residual staining in the center bottom, which can be removed with the proper cleaner. Surface ... moredirt and soiling on the cover, which can likely be steam cleaned away. The cushion is petrified and isn't as soft as it used to be, but as far as we know from our experience, these seat covers weren't very plush to begin with, the way the naugahyde and fabric upholstered chairs were. As depicted, there's some thread fraying and wear notably along the top edge and a bit of lifting near the rear of the cover, the latter of which looks like it could be ironed and/or blow dried flat, but we're leaving it exactly as found. These imperfections are already reflected in the price. Comparable Eames Girard chairs have gone for $3,600 on other sites, and the design of this Girard cover is far more attractive and striking and the ochre armshell far rarer than the ones we've seen that have sold in that range. The seams over the cover are still tight. The full wiring along the perimeter is complete with no breaks, and there are no cracks or chips to the fiberglass armshell, which is structurally sound. Be the first in your neighborhood to sport the worn out Eames Lounge chair. 2 Panels are 1970's rosewood. Middle Panel is a 1990's Herman Miller walnut replacement. FABULOUS VINTAGE EAMES HERMAN MILLER LOUNGE CHAIR AND OTTOMAN IN WARM BROWN LEATHER WITH WALNUT WOOD FRAME LOCAL PICKUP PHOENIX ARIZONA AREA This auction offers a vintage Eames Herman Miller lounge chair and ottoman in warm chocolate brown with what I think is a walnut wood frame. This is an authentic Herman Miller Eames chair. Likely dating to the late 1970s or early 1980s. It comes from a local estate where it was used but lovingly cared for. If you settle down into this soft, supple leather chair and put your feet up on the ottoman, you won't ever want to sit in anything else. It's wonderfully comfortable, not to mention very stylish for today's modern tastes. The leather on the set is in excellent condition except at the arms where there is wear and a bit of rubbing with discoloration where hands will rest. The wood on the back of the headrest has two vertical scratches that will probably be easily fixed with a bit of wood treatment. Up for sale is a lovely set of four(4) vintage original EAMES Herman Miller fiberglass side shells consisting of: 1 x DARK OLIVE/HUNTER GREEN 1 x YELLOW 1 x OCHRE 1 x PARCHMENT Beautiful complementary colors. All 4 shells have the"Herman Miller" logo embossment. The yellow and green have the desirable narrow mount configuration. The original shock mounts have detached(replacements are easily obtainable on this site) Selling as is. Both have the Herman Miller logo embossed on the underside as well as the backwards"Z" with the yellow having a Herman Miller inspection sticker with date stamp. The green is a bit of a chameleon in that it looks gray or brown under certain lighting. The color could be raw umber. Early EAMES for HERMAN MILLER - Fiberglass Rocking Chair RAR Mid Century Rocker
Ray and Charles Eames for Herman Miller- RAR" Fiberglass Rocking Chair A hallmark of mid-century design. This Eames' fiberglass shell rocking chair is in very good condition for it's age. Color of shell is"light ochre" which looks like a butterscotch yellow or gold in some light, and a bit brighter in natural light. The wooden runners are stained a sort of medium brown to blonde. I believe this to be an early model, as it does not have an embossed stamp or sticker(may have had a sticker at one point, most likely the checked Herman Miller version, but has long since been removed) Because of this lack of markings and the plastic's translucency, I think this was produced by Herman Miller with Zenith plastics, but I cannot authenticate this myself. I can say for certain, however, that this is in fact from the early ... more50's, is NOT a modern reproduction, and that the base, rockers, and hardware are original to the piece. The shell is free of cracks or significant chips(does have some minor nicks along edges(see pic#9) and a small discoloration spot on the seat(see pic#11) The base has a black matte finish. Is structurally sound and in great condition. All of the hardware(screws, etc. are present, and do not appear to have ever been replaced or even loosened. The wooden runners are in good shape, with some expected nicks and marks along edges and bottoms(see pics#4,7,8) Shipping within the continental U.S. will be a flat rate of $100. Which will include packing and materials, and will be send via FedEx. If another shipping method is preferred, extra costs will be applied. International shipping can be arranged, the costs will depend on location, but will surely exceed $100 as FedEx Air would be necessary. Selling my very rare Herman Miller Eames designed LCW chair. Color is Aniline Red. It is in very good vintage condition with a minor chip to the back of the seat. Rubber shocks are 100% original and in good shape. Believe it to be from 1958. black stamp underneath with the# 58. 5 2 4 screw configuration. Most likely just after the switch from Evans production. Has a very light LCW stamped in the wood underneath. Unfortunately the Herman Miller tag fell off long ago: 100% original as found from the original owner who had many early Eames pieces. Chair has typical wear. See pics. Red Aniline dye is faded making it a very warm cherry color. much easier to see the red dye underneath. Beautiful chair! Bid with confidence! These pictures were taken outside in bright light to get the best clarity. They will not be as shiny in a darker environment. The edges are in great shape and there are no cracks. Thought to be produced around 1950 based on patent information available online. Missing the canvas back, and the canvas seat that remains is on its last legs, but the seat will be useful as a template and for reference on the original color and edging used. The metal body folds up nicely and the chair stands on its own when folded, but because it's wrought iron, it's quite heavy: about 16 pounds. Superficial rust all around the metal body means a paint job is likely in order, but don't obscure that precious label! This Chair was purchased from the same Estate as the Side Chair currently on offer. The EARLY- ZEELAND CHAIRS were not embossed with a label as are the Later Chairs but came with a paper label. This Rocking Chair no longer has its paper label so I am showing the label from the companion chair. Very few of these labels are still intact but the lack of an embossed signature establishes it age and manufacture. This is from the first two years of production.

The chair was designed by Charles Eames and manufactured by the Herman Miller Furniture Company. The shell dated from 1952 and still has a rare silver Herman Miller medallion. The shell rests on an early zinc plated Eiffel Tower"wall protective" 4 legged base complete with 4 original white self-leveling plastic glides. The base extends further out in the rear so the shell edge does not rub the wall. The chair is known for it's comfort and durability. The shell is produced from fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Originally. The fiberglass was being used during the war to reinforce plastic on airplane radar domes. This very 60's color is one of the most disarble and popular colors of the Eames fiberglass shells. CONDITION REPORT: This chair is in very good for its age vintage condition. The shell is clean. Shows LOTS of FIBER and still retains it's original gleaming luster. The color is extremely bright and vivid with no fading. Looks gorgeous! The original gel coating is intact! There are two small tears in the front corners of the chair that cannot be seen when the ottoman is in place. Someone placed a document on the ottoman and the ink transferred into the vinyl. The frame is made of solid flat bar chromed steel. The chair is 28" wide. 32" deep. and 37" tall. The ottoman is 28" wide, 19.5" deep, and 17" tall. Wonderful estate find-set of 4 mid century modern chair/table legs. Each measures 12 inches and has a brass/gold finish. Not sure what type of metal they are made of but they are weighty and solid-assuming they are steel. See all pics-there is expected wear of the golden finish but this can be painted over easily or left as is. I see no pits. Dents, cracks, rust or other obvious issues-really a solid set that would make any piece of furniture look great. The bases have solid welding of the legs(pics 4 and 10) Each base has 4 screw holes-2 holes at the"V" and another hole on each side for added stability when mounting to a table or chair.
