Beautifully visible fiberglass"hairs" which stand out beautifully on the seafoam shell. Looks amazing under any light-natural or indoor. Exhibits signs of typical. This is very likely a Zenith production and possibly a prototype marked"AX" stands for A rmshell X- four leg base) which makes it doubly rare. The only notable flaw we detect is a tiny chip on the left arm underside/back which isn't really noticeable unless you look closely on the left/back. For sale is my 1958 Eames by Herman Miller rosewood lounge chair that needs restoration. The wood shells are near perfect and have no cracks, drill holes or chips in the veneers edge. The aluminum will need polishing and is otherwise in good condition. The goose down cushions and fill as well as the backing and all clips/snaps are in great condition. The black leather is in great condition except for the seat that needs to be redone. All cushions are still in great and useable condition as is. Great overall vintage condition with no cracks or integral damage but age-appropriate wear such as surface scratches on both shells. Vintage Herman Miller Eames Executie Leather Chair (Brown)
Originally $4995. I paid $1800 for this chair last year. I was told this chair has been sitting in a small town bank for over 10 years. Except for some minor leather scratches/cracks on arm rests. This top of the line leather chair feels great. No modern product can compare. The height of the chair is adjustable. All 5 wheels are working perfectly fine. Amazingly, the cushion is still firm. One of the things I really like about this chair is the depth of the seat. It is deep enough so I don't feel like I might slip out of the chair anytime(unlike some of the modern day design) I am moving oversea and unfortunately it is too costly to ship it. The chrome is nice and not flaking and there is no rust. The rubber mounts are solid and soft and there for the chair is fine to still use on a daily bases. The screws that hold the base to the shell I am not 100% sure if they are original or not but everything looks good in my opinion but I can not guarantee the screws are original. There is a very fine line which is very hard to see that runs along the edge of the back shell on the back side and I do not know why it is there? Great mid-century 50's design by Boston( father of modular homes) architect Carl Koch for Tubbs of Vermont. Tubbs produced snow shoes in the mid-19th century. And later made innovative chairs out of the very same snow shoes in the early 20th century. This modern design reduces the concept even further into a strikingly simple and economical update. Eames Era Swiss Design 1950s Safari Chair in Black Leather
Almost every country has a version of this chair that was popularized by Kaare Klint. Presented here is the Swiss version. Designed in the 50's. The chair has a leather seat and back has carved solid wood supports with leather straps that serve as arm rests and also as mounts. It is quite rare to find a version in black leather with original ebonized wood. The seat height is 14 inches; the total height is 34 inches and the seat width is 21 inches. The designer is unknown but it is often attributed to Hans Bellman of Knoll fame. Because he designed a similar table, the Colonial table. The chair is sometimes attributed by auction houses to the Swiss designer and former Bauhaus student, Wilhelm Kienzle. The chair will be taken apart for shipping and is very easily assembled; no tools required.

PLEASE READ COMPLETE LISTING Beam me up Scotty- this executive chair is futuristic. Modern, stylish and comfortable. Captain Kirk would never leave the bridge should he have this chair. Dated Sept 1968 by the Boling Chair Comp. Siler City. N.C. it must be worth 3 times what I'm asking- a true futuristic mid-century look, American made and functional- The bottom has a height adjustment as well as a tension adjustment for leaning backwards- standard on all executive office chairs- The chair is vinyl with cloth cusion and cloth inset at the back- see photos- the size is 41 inches high. 25 inches across and about 27 inches deep- the base is wooden with metal protectors on the edges- all castors roll as like new- Three(3) small blemishes that need mentioning- on the right armrest. A crack in the vinyl about 1 inch- and just in front of that ... morea slight imperfection- almost nothing but it's there- second is the upper left corner of the the chair back a small quarter inch blemish, and the on the left at the bottom of the chair below the arm rest another slight quarter inch blemish- these are visible in the photos- but you have to look hard to see them(I attempted close up photos. But the light reflection makes it a little difficult to see clearly- NOTE. these blemishes could be touched up with a black marker and made practically impossible to see) the material on the cushion and the back rest is in great condition- slight abrasions on the upper edge of the back rest probably from rubbing against a wall somewhere along the 45 years in the history of this chair- Another note- on the last photo. Solid, and rolls beautifully. It rolls, swivels, tilts, raises and lowers, and the saddle halves spacing is adjustable(closer together or farther, pics show full spread) It is approx. 17” x 17” and adjusts from 24” to 31” tall. It is designed to seat you higher than normal so when lowered it is desk work height even though it is taller than a desk chair. The leather saddle has one small puncture and two very minor scuffs at the edge. Otherwise, it is a clean chair and everything works as it should. Good luck.

Vintage 1979 Eames Lounge Chair by Herman Miller #1
Vintage 1979 Herman Miller Eames lounge chair. Classic black leather on rosewood. The wood portion of the chair has no cracks or large scratches though it does have small dings and wear along the exposed edges. The leather cushions are still soft and have no holes, tears, or significant wear, even on the armrests. The metal base has all five original"Insulated Domes of Silence" and lots of wear marks along the edges of the black coating. The chair twirls around nicely. I have not opened the cushions but they have held their shape very well and don't have that squished, deflated look that happens to old couches. However, the plastic/vinyl bottom of the seat cushion has a crack at one corner. I unartfully repaired it with tape to protect the cushion when I slid it back onto the clips on the wood shell but I'm sure someone ... morewho knows what they are doing can easily patch it using the proper materials. The chair is one of two originally purchased in 1979 by my father. Alas the sales papers are long gone but it was from an Herman Miller/Eames furniture dealer in Southern California. This chair was in his home office and rarely used which is why it is in such nice condition. I am also auctioning off the one he had at his work office which is very nice but has more signs of use. I can either disassemble the chair and ship it to you or am happy to pack it up whole for a freight shipper. Local pickup would be wonderful.
