The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. It is of smaller proportions making it ideal for a smaller room. The approx. measurements are: 3’ 6½” tall/ 2’ 11” across the front and is 1’ 5¼” wide. There are a couple of very small little marks or bumps but nothing major and overall it is in Very Good used condition. This Would Be A Very Stylish Addition To Any Home! Vintage Mid Century Modern Steelcase Lounge Chair W/ Tags Saarinen Eames
A very stylish. Mid cen mod lounge chair, made by steelcase, and still has all the tags! Reminiscent of some of Saarinen or Jens risom designs, it's really an eye catching chair, but Very cozy and not so large it dominates a room or space. Just a very well designed accent chair. Dimensions are approx 30" tall, 25.5" wide/deep. 17.5" seat height. Condition is excellent. Some minor wear/scuffs on the legs. And some very minor wear on the fabric. Eames Herman Miller Softpad Aluminum Group Mid Century Modern Desk Office Chair
This is a vintage. Authentic herman miller softpad management aluminum group chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames, and featured in time life magazine. The chair is a classic. Though it does have a few condition issues. There are some scuffs and scratches on the arms, and small tears on some of the edges of the fabric. The upholstery is faded over time, and the foam is breaking down. It's easy to replace, and actually has a zipper to open it up and restuff the upholstery, so it's a simple enough maintenance issue. The base itself is in working condition. However, the knob to turn for raising and lowering the chair height adjustment has been mishandled at some point, and now the edges are sharp, so gloves may be necessary to adjust it. Once height is set, it's great, but it's by no means in mint condition. Also, if the chair ... moreis lifted upwards,it will slide off the base. Overall. It needs some TLC and restoration, but it is an all time mid century modern design classic, and with the proper care, will look great and provide a comfortable desk chair for many years to come. Vintage Eames Chair and Ottoman If you're looking at this posting you likely know at something about Eames chairs. They are the epitome of design. Comfort and workmanship. This particular Eames chair and ottoman was purchased new roughly 20 years ago and is a one-owner set. Both pieces are in great condition with only the slightest signs of wear(one armrest, shown in photo#5) The armrest leather has minor scratches, but is certainly nothing too worrisome. Our opinion is that it's hardly noticeable. Beyond that the chair and ottoman really could pass for new. The leather is still soft and pliable, the wood finish is clean with no scratches or dings and the metal bases are tight with no adverse signs of wear. We're not sure which wood the structures are made from: it looks a bit like the Santos Palisander shown on the Herman Miller ... morewebsite. If any of you Eames experts know please feel free to chime in. Bonus: For those of you who'd really like a pair of these chairs. We also have a matching chair/ottoman. Both sets were purchased at the same time by the original owners and look virtually identical. 1960's Plycraft Leather Lounge Chair & Ottoman Mid Century Modern Eames Style
This is a very nice early circa 1960's Eames style lounge chair and ottoman by Plycraft. It has been freshly re-upholstered in luxurious marine grade black leather that is as soft as butter. The frame and wood is in great condition with mild wear and one small spot where the wood grain is lifting on one wooden support bar but it is not a crack(see closeup) The base has some rust underneath and the adjustable feet glides have rust. There is moderate wear to the five leg base. One arm is missing the four wooden screw cap covers. I have to pick up the ottoman later today so just the picture of the bottom is shown. Beautiful Mid Century Modern vintage Ray& Charles Eames style lounge chair and ottoman. Dating from the late 60s to early 1970s. All the proportions of the chair are deep and wide. Chair features a four star chrome base. The ottoman. And the back support mimics the classic Charles Eames' iconic chair. Although the lounge chair and ottoman are not Herman Miller originals. They are made by Plycraft, a high-end maker of the period. The chair and ottoman have been outfitted with soft birch wood. And a durable soft espresso/ dark chocolate brown leather upholstery. Mid Century Eames Italian Carlo Mollino Attributed Adjustable Lounge Chair Gio
Buyer must arrange and pay for shipping co. to pick up at our home. Attributed to the Italian Designer Carlo Mollino 1960's adjustable Lounge Armchair. Carlo Mollino first created the adjustable armchair in the 1950's and continued creating new designs for this chair thru the 1960's. It is not marked. It has been reupholstered unprofessionally many years ago. No breaks in the wood. Adjusting mechanism is under each arm rest and they work fine. Two of the wood plugs that go over the screw are missing easy to replace. I did find this chair in a catalog the original upholstery was a light tan. Or honey colored. Carlo Mollino has become incredibly popular, a few years ago his desk sold at I think Christies for over 3 million. That woke a lot of people up. His pieces command high prices. He was a very unique gentleman. His furniture ... morewas intended to copy the curves of the naked body. He worked with Gio Ponti and the other popular Italian designers of the Eames era. Authentic Herman Miller Eames Aluminum Group super low lounge Shell Chair Base
Up for grabs is a Herman Miller aluminum group low lounge chair base for shell chairs. This is a very low height versions. I had it on my zenith armshell before i put the original solid rod x-base back on it. It is in overall excellent vintage condition. Some wear to the bottom of the original plastic feet. it still has a nice shine to it but there is some tarnishing. This base came out of a local college. The height of this base is very low and and has a wider stance than the standard height. I have only seen 2 other bases with the same height. NOTE: When i acquired this base. One of the back tabs on the spider mount had broken off. Instead of having it TIG welded back on, i cannibalized another aluminum group desk base for the spider mount. The difference is that the desk base has a thinner steel rod(1/2in) so a 1in steel sleeve was milled ... moreon a metal lathe and friction fitted on the the 1/2in rod. It is very strong and not noticeable at all. Listed for sale is a very special side shell! It is a Herman Miller side shell by Charles and Ray Eames with 1955 aluminum contract base. Matching the Eames 671 ottoman! It was named the PSC and is one of my favorite bases. The base was produced for a very short time and this example is paired with a parchment/ivory shell. Charles Eames. 1907-1978, was one of several architect/designers who in the 1940's explored sculptural forms in furniture intended for mass production. Perhaps his more admired piece was this formed, laminated wood hair which was first exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1947.
