Condition: This chair is in excellent vintage condition. The square seat and back are made of black padded leatherette. The vertical ebonised feet contrast beautifully with the horizontal chrome tubular structure. And all is held together with the signature broad and stylish chrome screws. The tubular structure is made of chrome metal struts whilst the vertical squared feet are made of ash wood and lacquered black. The chair is very comfortable, elegant and stylishly low slung. ... moreIt would complement beautifully a modernist interior. It is possible to disassemble the chair. The original Arkana logo and patent are embossed to the underside and read as follows: Arkana(Bath) England Made in Great Britain Patent Applied for Registered Design 924.933 and 924.934" The chair is in good vintage condition. There are a few age and use related marks. The chrome has flaked off in places. Revealing a slightly yellowish undercoat of chrome(see pictures) the leatherette is in very good overall condition despite a minute 3mm diameter pinpoint loss on the seat, a slight 11cm-long scratch on the backrest, and a tear(3.5 cm long and 2.5 cm long) at the back of the backrest that has been professionally repaired(see pictures) The ebonised finish on the feet has suffered scruffs and scratches and the latter have been professionally restored(see pictures) However. In my personal opinion, the aforementioned does not interfere with the overall look of the piece. Please note that the chair will be shipped disassembled and flat packed. Please note that. 1 of 2 Eames DCM chairs found in my mother's heated storage unit. All original. Never been refinished or harshly cleaned. Has been in heated storage for 20+ years. Date stamp under seat says 1/53. In very good condition considering it is 60 years old. Still has the paper that was on when originally given to my mother. There is a little rust on the feet but no rust I can see on the frame. Even though the plywood chair was a compromise of the Eames's vision to create a single shell chair. It still constituted a successful design. Materials include moulded 5-ply seat and back connected to 8-ply legs and back brace by means of rubber shock mounts. Vitra included red and natural versions of both the LCW in the original Miniatures Collection in 1992. The 1:6 red and black veneer LCW chairs were retired in 1999 and 2000 respectively. In the plans for their chairs. The Eameses frequently came up with a number of variations by combining a seat shell with different base frames or a different finish. Plywood Group, in addition to the bent plywood legs, was available from the outset with a chromed tubular steel base, which lent the chair a lighter look and by use of contrasting materials, made the appearance all the more exciting. Alongside models with no upholstery. The Eameses also designed versions with cowhide or leather upholstery. The covers rested on a thin layer of foam to provide additional comfort. The cowhide cover version was introduced on both the LCWs and LCMs as early as 1946. But only produced in small numbers. In 2008. Herman Miller Select, an annual limited edition release, offered 500 limited issue 1:1 LCWs in walnut veneer with a refined cowhide covered ... moreseat and back, as it was when it was first launched in 1946. In Europe. Vitra have re-issued both the 1:1 LCW and LCM with hide or leather covers, making them available again for the first time in decades. LOCAL ST LOUIS PICK UP ONLY Really nice real leather. In rich chocolate color, and gorgeous light bent wood give this HOT Mid Century Lounger/lounge chair the look that tops off any period room. Material is real leather but piping/trim is vinyl. No tags, but our extensive research shows us that it is a Plycraft- an early model Plycraft when they were quite larger than the Herman Miller to avoid patent issues. Look up Plycraft vs Eames Herman Miller for more info. These do not have the base breakage problem of the HM 607. It is in good vintage condition. It needs 3 buttons replaced(2 on ottoman and one on chair) it has a few very small chips in the veneer wood edge- could be easily repaired, and general wear just from being so old-mostly on arms. Notice this one has the 5 legged atomic base on the chair- from the quality years. Swivels and ... morerocks perfect. Adjustable feet to level chair. Made well. It has been in clean storage and was just cleaned with leather cleaner and wood was polished. Screws aren't as noticeable in person- the flash caught them. Pics don't really show how cool and nice it is. Super comfy too. It looks great as it is right now if you don't want to restore it. It's a money maker or a personal treasure. I hate to see it go! 1983 Herman Miller Aluminum Group Swivel Chair Mid Century Modern Eames, Red
Very solid chair and everything works. Swivel, tension for back and wheels all are great. Fabric has no tears just normal wear and looks it's age. The seat batting need to be changed. It wouldn't take much, there is a zipper hidden on the lower back cushion to access it. I recently removed the filler and turned it backwards but it's uneven and I should have just left it as it was. I would recommend having an upholsterer do it, he may want to use memory foam or just new batting. Aluminum frame is very nice and just shows mormal finish patina wear. This is from 1983 as you can see on bottom stamp and# label. Has the Herman Miller logo on tag as well. Very comfortable chair and will last another 30 years with care. I will likely have to ship in 2 boxes. Seat part pulls straight up and off. Thanks for looking!

Here is a Herman Miller Side Chair that were designed by Charles Eames. The shell is all original Herman Miller. They have the Herman Miller name moulded under the seat(see picture close-up) The original patent stickers at one point but have come off over the years of use. The shell is in good shape for their age, there is a chip and scuff mark. all the shockmounts are glued on tight. They have some color loss on the edges. I think is normal) Other than a simple wipe and removal of some 50+ year gum I did not touch these chairs. The shell have the wide shockmounts. Still a nice set to add to your collection! Vintage Herman Miller Charles Eames DAX armchair in parchment. The parchment fiberglass is semi see-through. It has the big older shock mounts and older x base. It was covered in bad old fabric. Lucky the foam wasn't really glued. The shell is in good condition, it has staining(from glue) on the armrests and need cleaning/sanding and has one small nick in the fiberglass on the edge. You are viewing a fiberglass shell chair made by Krueger Metal Products. Chair is structurally sound. With no major chips, cracks, rips or tears. I found one chip on the front underside of the seat that you can't see until it's flipped over. There is also a little bit of"cloudiness" in the seat(see pictures. The backside shows a high fiber content, so for that vintage look, this chair might just use some light sanding and a new coat of penetrol to smooth out the colors on the seat. 2 EAMES OCHRE ROPE EDGE CHAIRS Zenith Herman Miller CHECKERBOARD CHAIR 1st Gen!
For your consideration is a set of two(2) rare. All-vintage EAMES ROPE EDGE fiberglass chairs. Both armshells will be shipped with black X-bases sans glides(shells in one box. Bases in one box) Golden-hued color(most likely ochre. As it's darker than parchment) with gorgeous swirly fiberglass patterns. One shell is a tad darker than the other. As you can see in the photos. Both have the same swirly fiberglass patterns and make a great pair. Checkerboard label still visible. Clear rope edge details on both. All-original vintage 1st generation Eames fiberglass chairs. Chair 1: Structurally solid with original shock mounts firm and still intact. Exhibits standard age-appropriate wear including spots. Discolorations, cracks, fading, surface scuffs, most notably a crack on the right arm and a chip on the backrest, as depicted. The base has ... morerust and oxidation. Selling as is and already reflected in the price. Chair 2: Beautiful swirly fibers. Very clean, with the iconic Zenith Herman Miller Eames checkerboard label still intact. Translucent and stunning. Large, hockey puck shock mounts. Originally came with an X-base that had been painted white(you will receive an original non-painted black X-base) so there is some white paint residue on the bottom, which won't be seen when the chair is in use. Given the somewhat raised surface grain. Absence of the gloss finish, and the vast swirly patterns of the fiberglass threads, coupled with the rope edge, checkerboard label, translucency of the shell, large shock mounts, and original X-base, it is believed that this chair is a 1st year production, but we'll leave it to the buyer to make their own determination. In any case, it's definitely a 1st generation rope edge with checkerboard label. Recently purchased from someone who had used it in a film shoot. The chair has a couple of imperfections, namely a crack on the lower left edge, which will need some reinforcement, a couple of surface chips/fractures/dings, and stress marks. This has been destroyed by my puppy. Which chewed straight down the center and some further up. It needs to be redone obviously and the black metal could be resprayed also.
