Listed is a set of four Mid Century replacement legs for a chair. Table, stool, etc. purchased at an estate. These are original and NOT reproductions. The color of the wood is a Champagne much like Heywood Wakefield stains. The brass fittings on the end are adjustable to keep the furniture piece from rocking. There is a white plastic base on the legs to keep from scratching your floors. The tops of each leg has a screw in attachment. Each leg is 6 1/4" tall. Set 4 Mid Century 50's Eames Zenith X Base D Side Shell Fiberglas Chair Bases
This auction is for a set of 4(four) Mid Century early 50's Zenith Eames X base side shell chair BASES(i am throwing the shells in for free unless the high bidder doesn't want them) Designed by Charles and Ray Eames. These I believe are an early version of the chair. The X-Base chair is the first generation Eames fiberglass chair with the solid metal legs.These are an x base side shell in painted/ vintage condition. Lots off heavy fiber, I think#2& 4 in the photos(from the left working right) have the stress cracks on corners/ at the bends, they are noted for this) The X bases are all stamped D in the middle of the X's and none of them retain the original boot glides. Out of the 4 chairs there are 3 of the original screws missing. I don't know how to clean the paint off off the shells(it seems to scrap off easily in the ... moresmall spot I tried) but I leave paint removal to the knowledgable buyer. The paint is good but for some dark scuffs toward the bottom of the legs and some light rust neat the very bottom where the plastic glides attach. All four glides are present. The cushions. While clean and useable, do have some wear; mostly along full length of the top of the back cushion. For sale is an awesome mid century rattan/ wicker patio garden set of furniture. The set is totally original with the original patch work print of material on the pieces. The set includes the sofa/ love seat which is made of two pieces that have arms only on the one side. One chair that has two arms, one chair that has no arms(slipper chair) two stools, and one coffee/ end table. The sofa in picture consists of two pieces that each measure about 28 inches high, 24 inches across the front, and extend out from the back to front about 28 inches(together the love seat is about 56 inches wide) The slipper chair(one without arms) measures about 28 inche high, 28 inches from back to front, and about 21 inches across the front. This piece can be placed in the middle of the love seat to increase the width of the sofa to about 77 inches wide. The chair ... morewith the two arms measures about 28 inches high, 28 inches from back to front and about 28 inches across the front. All of the chairs slant backwards a little and are about 14 to 15 inches high at the front with cushions. The stools measure about 22 by 20 and are about 16 inches high to top of rattan along sides. The coffee/ end table has a laminate top and measures about 24 by 24 on the top and is about 16 inches tall. All of the pieces are sturdy and except for some minor scuffing and small sections of wicker wrapping missing are in great shape. The cushions are as I said original to the pieces and the material is in great condition for something that is over 50 years old. All of the cushions except for three are in great shape without any rips. Two have some minor pulling of the material and a small hole in the other. All of the cushions have zippers in them and do have an offensive smell. They are very soft and probably need to have the cushions inside replaced. The pieces have all of the springs attached(one of the cushions has tape on it. The lady said that was to keep the rough edge of it from ripping the material. Description: This is quite the conversation piece and a must have for your mid-century themed living or office space. You will search long and hard to find a more unique set than this. At first glance. It appears odd that the traditonal area for cushions is open making it questionable as to it's functionality. As far as comfort. Looks are deceiving. This is one of the most comfortable mid-century pieces that I have sat in/on. The bentwood legs allow for slight reclining of the backrest allowing for adjustment to a desired position. The bentwood legs do show some chipping and wear at the edges but nothing that affects the function of the couch. These spots are strictly cosmetic and can be fixed if you desire. The"tube" or cylinder shaped cushion and backrest have wear on each piece. I woud recommend that these be re-covered as ... morethey are currently done in the original vinyl. There are tears on both the couch and chair. The top section of the couch is damaged from what appears to be dried and cracking vinyl. This would be one of the easiest upholstery/leather jobs around based on the shape without any sharp lines present. The ends are done in the same material with brass tacks lining the outer edge. The seat cushion appears to be round while the backrest is more oblong shaped. Most likely. This was done purposely to achieve a product that was both appealing and comfortable. As stated earlier in this listing. You can search high and low for something more unique and unusual but you will not find it. This is a set that any mid-century enthusiast should own. The estate that this came from was full of late 50's to mid 60's furnishings. The family could offer no information as to when this was first purchased or where it was purchased at. I was only told that it had been owned by the same family since new. Good luck bidding. You will be hard pressed to find a similar set. Rare. Red. Really! Red was a custom-ordered color only. Armchairs are seldom offered for sale( when was the last time you saw one. at all? But here you have this brief opportunity to make a Big Decision and assume stewardship of this vintage, iconic beauty. It's in the exact same condition it was in when I bought it 20yrs ago and is as follows: Bright. Vivid, primary red hue is factory original with copious visible fibers and clear coat intact. Original zinc base with the rear leg option angled so as to keep the chair rim from hitting the wall has the original glides. Rubber mounts and bolts are original. Herman Miller" is embossed on the underside as it should be. Running your fingers along the potato-chip rim of the circumference reveals some"flea bites" common to this chair, but only in one spot(pics#7& 8) does it ... moreaffect the overall contour of the shell- and it's a pretty minor little"dent" you have to be looking for it. On the seat(pics#9& 10) some idiot left an irregular scratch, and two tiny chips that I long ago filled in with acrylic(it may have darkened a shade- easy to re-do) and, again, you have to look for it to be revealed in a certain light-reflecting angle-blame the shiny gelcoat! At auction we present this near-pristine mid century slipper chair. Finished in shiny and obviously very durable vinyl or naugahyde. This chair is stamped November, 1951 on the underside and its style is right out of the Dick Van Dyke Show! Designed for use as an accent in a bedroom or foyer it was never intended for rugged usage or excessive amounts of weight. The whitewash stained legs are in very nice condition albeit there is some scuffing; the vinyl itself is stunningly intact with almost no condition issues at all. The chair measures 28" high, 23" front to back and 19" wide. The back can easily be disassembled for shipping. Local pickup is an option. Please feel fee to ask questions!

This looks white but when in light it is a very very pale blue.almost white. It does need cleaned. It has one small dark place on the seat that is not a tear and we have not tried to clean it.
