This design by Charles and Ray Eames and their ... moremulti-talented staff was introduced by Herman Miller in 1956 and graces residences around the world. The first one was for friend and film director Billy Wilder. Who lost it in a fire many years later. The second one was in the Eames House in Pacific Palisades house until recently, but is now in storage awaiting restoration. A very recent example now sits in the living area. In 1958 Vitra acquired the production and distribution rights to the Eames furniture lines for Europe and the Middle East. This Vitra chair and ottoman was acquired by the original owners who were living and working in Switzerland in 1972. And kept in their home for nearly 40 years. I have owned this for the past three years and it has only been sat on a half dozen times since my acquisition. The shock mounts between the armrest and lower back seat panel have been replaced, as many of these chairs have needed this repair. The refined combination of Brazilian Rosewood and black leather is still impressive 57 years later after its initial introduction. The rosewood and leather are in remarkable condition and the pieces exemplify fine design and luxury. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a vintage Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman in excellent condition. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area and will deliver within 50 miles for a nominal fee. RARE Selig Imperial egg Lounge Chair with Ottoman Eames Era 1970s black modern. Vintage Eames era Lounge Chair- Selig Imperial egg chair with ottoman. It is black and in very good. Used condition. There is a small tear near one of the button measuring 1/2" The base is a bit wobbly and need to be adjusted. There is a large screw for adjustment, I'm not sure how it works. Chair and Ottoman are both in Excellent condition. The chair swivels and has a tilt mechanism. Upholstered in moss green naugahyde. This is a pre production version with no patent number from 1958. The first year the aluminum series were taken in production. It has the patent pending mark on the bottom of both the chair and the ottoman. The house is full of mostly 19th century antiquities and this is the newest piece of art they own. They believe that it was purchased new in the early 1970's. Condition: The leather is in great.Supple condition with no rips or tears. The wood has no cracks or breaks. Upon a close inspection the finish on primarily the upper shell appears to have had a liquid spilled on it. Clearly visible in the pictures posted on photobucket can also be seen a few areas on the backs top shell. Some white paint rubbed on from being too close to the library wall. This is the narrower base. Base has original shock mounts and original screws, which I have not tightened back down for fear of stripping or cross threading. In GREAT condition. Will need to be repainted due to surface rusting and a paint splotch. No broken welds& no pieces broken. There is a bit of glue left on shock mounts and it looks like one of the rods on one leg has a very slight bow. please see pic. which can be easily remedied. Weight is 3 1/2 lbs. Height is 17 inches. The front of the frame measures approx. 20" tall x 28" wide, and the depth of the frame is approx. 21" deep. Vintage ARNE VODDER? Teak Dining Chair Eames Era Mid Century Set of (4) Nice
These chairs were in my house when I moved in back in the 70's. Always thought they were beautiful but they did not go with my interior design scheme. For the last 30 years or so they have sat in an upstairs storage room. I now need the space so looking to sell them. They are a set of 4. Made of wood possibly teak or rosewood, not sure. Backs are wood and the cushion looks and feels like leather but I think its actually synthetic. There is no makers badge on the chairs that I could find, though I am not sure where I would actually look. They do have an old retailers sticker from the 1960's that sold a lot of the danish and Scandinavian furniture. Chairs are local pickup only but I can however deliver within a reasonable area. I am working on getting more pictures of the set online, and will hopefully have those up soon.

vtg MCM Bent wood swivel chair Cherner Plycraft Thonet Nelson Eames style
Chair swivels! No ply separation- very nice to find one of these without separation or stress cracks! The chair looks like Thonet- but the thin tapered legs look more like a Cherner chair- I am not sure of the maker 24 inches wide at arms x 33 high at rear and 17.5 high at seat. One of the arm rests is missing its upholstery but the come off with two screws underneath and would be really easy to recover. The original naugahyde on the seat and back shows some wear and has a few nicks but overall is nice an useable as is. The finish/patina on the wood legs is a little flakey but in my opinion looks great with its aged patina as it is. If you wanted to refinish the wood it would be an easy DIY project- or just use it like it is! If you want me to refinish the chair for you- I can strip it down and make it look perfect for an additional fee- ... morejust write and we can discuss. HISTORY: Up for auction is a vintage Eames Herman Miller DSX( D ining or desk height) side chair with molded fiberglass shell in red orange color and zinc plated" H" base from the early 60's. The chair was designed by Charles Eames and manufactured by the Herman Miller Furniture Company. The chair has many authentic markings including a rare silver Herman Miller medallion and Z(for Zenith Plastics) The shell rests on an zinc plated"wall protective" 4 legged" H" base complete with 4 original white self-leveling plastic glides. The base extends further out in the rear so the shell edge does not rub the wall. The chair is known for it's comfort and durability. The shell is produced from fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Originally. The fiberglass was being used during the war to reinforce plastic on airplane ... moreradar domes. In according to the Eames fiberglass contract shell colors catalogue, this color was specified as RO(Red Orange) The fiberglass shell has the narrow shock mounts configuration. This very 60's color is one of the most desirable and popular colors of the Eames fiberglass shells. CONDITION REPORT: This chair is in very good for its age vintage condition. The shell is clean. Displays fiber very nicely and still retains it's original gleaming luster. The color is vivid and bright with no fading. Some very min. wear to the edge and surface of the shell(scratching, small nicks) Nothing major but we have to mention this for the accuracy of the description. Looks very nice! The original gel coating is intact. The small shock mounts are in good original condition with no"bleeding" and have NOT been re-glued. This shell still retains its 4 original raised logos: Herman Miller Furniture Company(Zeeland. Michigan) paper label, Herman Miller raised logo, S with a circle around(for Summits Plastic in Kalamazoo, MI) a B, and finally, the Herman Miller silver foil round medallion as proof of it's authenticity. This is a very nice mid century modern Recliner made by Thayer Coggin and Designed by Milo Baughman. The chair is missing its tag but I did email Thayer and they did confirm this chair from there vintage catalogs. They did send a pic of the catalog scan(pic 12) The chair is in great shape with no major damage. There is some rubbing to the vinyl on the back top of the chair where it sat agains a wall most likely(see pics) the wood frame is solid and shows minimal signs of its age. I believe the frame to be teak. other than the rub damage on the back top there is no major damage to the leatherette/vinyl. This chair is around 50 60 years old and shows minimal signs of its age. For some reason. You can't much info on this company, either. We are not sure exactly when this stool was made, but mostly likely sometime between 1960 and perhaps the 90s would be our GUESS. This has bent wood legs that are super sturdy. The seat is molded plastic in a color we call greige because it's a gray/beige ish color. Lightweight, but very sturdy. Vintage Mid Century Modern Eames KROEHLER Sitting Room Slipper Side Club Chair
Vintage Mid Century Modern Retro Eames Era KROEHLER Sitting Room Slipper Side Lounge Club Chair I believe it is from the 1950's. But could possibly be late 1940's or early 1960's. I have had this chair for some time now. And I absolutely love it! I really hate to see it go! After merging 2 households, we have too much furniture, and it just does not fit with the rest of our decor. This Vintage Mid Century Modern Kroehler Chair is all original. It still has the original fabric and all of the parts are original. The fabric does have some worn spots and a portion of of the seat fabric is worn(you can see the difference in the fabric where it has worn on the seat in photo#3) You may choose to have it recovered. But it would not be absolutely necessary, I can tell when I sit on the chair seat I can feel that the springs have aged.at ... moreleast one of the springs has"sprung" and is just not quite right. However, when examining the springs from the bottom of the chair, the springs all appear to be just fine. But you can clearly feel something that is not quite right when sitting on the seat. Again, not a major problem, the chair is fine as it is functional, sturdy and very comfortable. It doesn't need to be fixed right away, but I'm guessing it will need to be fixed at some point. It also has the original blonde wood legs, which are very sturdy and have no structural issues(no cracks or breaks) It still has it's original aluminum KROEHLER name plate on the bottom(photos 8& 9) the original factory tag, which reads, CHAIR 10-01279" photo 10) and writing on the underside from the factory(photo 11) The bottom of the chair has a piece of burlap separating the chair seat and the springs(photo 12) The burlap is a true testament to it's age! Measurements(please note that the measurements below are accurate to the best of my ability) Overall Height: 30.5" Tall Chair Back Width: 20" Seat Height: 15" Tall at the edge of the seat. 15-3/4" Tall in the middle of the seat.

Absolutely gorgeous mid century modern sofa and chair. Set is a prototype made by Hayworth designed by Patricia Urquiola from the openest collection. Color is a reddish orange. Material is a super soft vinyl. Set is new without any stains tears or scratches. Sofa is lip shaped and very unique dimensions are 91" length 49" depth with a 16" seat. Vintage Eames Lounge Chair Plycraft Black Leather Mid Century Modern
Up for auction is a very nice Eames style lounge chair manufactured by Plycraft in the 1970s. This chair has molded walnut plywood shells with black leather seat and back cushions. The base is a chrome 4 star style with no rust or damage. The black leather is in excellent condition. No rips. Tears or wear spots. The walnut shells have a few minor scuffs which is typical for a 40 year old piece of furniture. Overall a very nice piece to add to your mid century interior. A classic chair at a fraction of the price of a Herman Miller version.

Yes. This is an original early Milo Baughman for Thayer-Coggin Scoop chair. This chair is an easy restoration being that it only really needs new upholstery and padding. The frame is structurally and cosmetically VERY GOOD. The chair really has great bones and the existing finish is still VERY GOOD as well. Like I said. An easy total restoration as it just needs new upholstery and padding. Chair may be disassembled for shipping. However. Not sure yet if that will be necessary.
