This great looking piece was designed by Illum Wikkelso and is marked Made in Denmark on the underside of the frame as pictured. The whimsical circular form looks great from all angles and is a pleasure to sit in. This chair does have some wear to the frame and rope seat and is being sold in as found condition for use as-is or for restoration. The frame has a minor split on the top of the left front leg(see picture 3) the rope seat has some minor soiling and a few breaks that have been glued or stapled back as pictured. This chair measures 27" tall to the back and is 32" wide by 27" deep with a seat height of 14" Please email with any questions. Condition: Original as found condition for use as-is or for restoration. There is some minor soling and some repaired breaks to the rope seat. Vintage rare long 4 seater scandinavian couch and chair teak wood RETO Eames
This is a rare extra long Danish or Scandinavian couch and matching chair. These are light yet strong and very comfortable. I love the simple design with the shapely arms and angled legs. The couch and chair looks great from any angle. It has wood spindle back and the seat is supported by tough tight bands(elastic type) The large couch is missing 2 and I put 1" tough vinyl straps on the chair. The foam cushions are clean and comfortable but it is not the original fabric. The wood is excellent on the couch and chair but could need refinishing on arms. The couch measures 88" long. The arms measure 25" the sides measure 31" deep, from the spindle back to the front is 23" the couch and chair is 31" high. These couches are getting harder to find and to have the all the wood in great condition is becoming rarer. Depending ... moreon where you live in Canada or the U.S.A. The base extends further out in the rear so the shell edge does not rub the wall. The chair is known for it's comfort and durability. The shell is produced from fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Originally. The fiberglass was being used during the war to reinforce plastic on airplane radar domes. With its 1950s fabric that is in excellent condition. The only thing notable about it can be seen in the last picture. There is a very thin white mark barely 1"L) on the left side of the chair. It is very faint in person and could probably be removed very easily. I just did not want to chance it. On the same side in the front there is a tiny defect in the fabric that can also be seen in the last picture. Again nothing major but definitely wanted to point them out. The chair swivels and has a round solid wood base. In the picture with the back of the base you can see where there are two very thin surface cracks that were filled in. The item for sale is a vintage Eames style Lounge chair and matching ottoman. This is a made of light color plywood and brown leather having a black and chrome base. The condition is very good. Clean with normal wear. There are no rips, tears or stains in the leather. The ply backing has a ding in one spot otherwise it is fine(see pics) This lounge chair and matching ottoman came out of a clean, non smoking estate. I am sorry, I do not know the maker. THIS IS THE NICEST CHAIR I HAVE HAD YET. IT WAS ORIGINALLY A DULL WHITE VINYL. THE THREADING ON THE FRONT CORNERS WAS COMING LOOSE AND THERE WAS A SMALL CUT ON TOP OF SEAT. I APPLIED LAYERS OF COMMERCIAL GRADE SILICONE TO THESE AREAS FOLLOWED BY LAYERS OF VINYL PAINT. I MUST SAY THE CHAIR TURNED OUT VERY NICE. HOWEVER I DID SPEND MANY HOURS ON IT. MECHANICALLY THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CHAIR. VERY STURDY CHAIR, NO LOOSE PARTS. THE WOOD LEGS WERE PAINTED BLACK BECAUSE IT JUST DID NOT LOOK RIGHT WITH THE ORIGINAL WOOD COLOR. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING BUT CAN NOT FIND ANY CHAIRS OF THIS PARTICULAR STYLE. THEREFORE WITH THE COLORS MIXED IT MIGHT BE ONE OF A KIND. Foam on inner arms has that vintage foam crunch, but otherwise chair is in pretty good condition. The chairs appear to be more orange(photos#2-23) This auction is for chair#2 of a pair that have always been together{from a Chicago Mid Century estate} and are both currently being auctioned. Subtle darkened rings from shockmount epoxy bleed through. On the front shocks{please see photo with pointer-not as dark as chair#1} Color varies depending upon the amount of exposed fiberglass fibers during manufacturing and general wear. Some areas of the fiberglass display wear- armrests. Edges, etc. Original large rubber shock mounts are in good condition. Original X-bases and feet are good with original paint/finish wear to legs, and some rust/rubber cracking at feet. These two chairs were found disassembled without original screws and washers when acquired. New washers and correct reproduction early Zenith screws have been provided. The chairs will be disassembled for shipping purposes and a large headed Phillips screwdriver will be necessary for buyer to reassemble. General Description: A Thonet Chair from the 50's. Was in an institution and belonged to a staff room. Measures 29" deep. 23.5" wide and 42" high. cool ripple effect of the upholstery. Due to having a few cigarette burns the manager had a customized cover made for it. But that suffered the same fate. the cover zips over it and is orange in color. Despite this the chair is in relatively good condition and has few tears or other issues. It is still desirable. Shipping: It is possible to disassemble the chair and post it. Original Herman Miller fiberglass-and-steel DSX chair. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames. This is a very good example: nice visible fibers in the shell, no chips, no cracks. Herman Miller embossed logo is present, as are scraps of the HM paper label. Predates the"Designed by Charles Eames" medallion that appeared in the early sixties, but it's after 1954, since it has the H-style base. There's the slightest bit of wear to the edges of the shell, but really nothing significant. Color is Army green. Also sometimes called dark olive. Bright, even fifties color. Base was sanded to remove rust. Primed, and painted satin black, as original. Glides are originals, not reproductions. Two shock mounts are original; two are high-quality replacements. All four are rock-solid. Narrow-mount configuration. Shell will be removed from base ... morefor shipment. For sale is a mid century W.H. Gunlocke lounge chair that is made of Walnut with a cushioned seat. Label says cushion is 85% latex foam rubber. 10% synthetic foam and 5% cotton felt. Cover model is SM-919 and chair model is 1977USBR. Chair measurements 31" back height. 25 1/4" arm height, 19" seat height, 17 1/2" minimum width between arms, 18" seat from back to front edge. Chair comes from a trendy neighborhood in Minneapolis and is all original. I would say the condition is good. It looks nice from a distance, but if you inspect it up close it will need some polishing. The vinyl on the seat and backing is actually not that bad considering its decades old. There is a 1" surface split towards the front but on inspection it is not an actual tear, just the top layer of the vinyl is splitting. The side lateral support on the left has a 1/2" long by 1/8" chip out of it, but does not effect the integrity of the chair by any means. Other than this issue, I do not see any other real damage to it. I would highly recommend either refinishing or cleaning up the wood, there is nicks to it and the finish is becoming worn. Vintge eames era industrial drafting metal chair stool
For sale is a heavy metal vintage eames era industrial drafting chair/ stool. The chair as pictured measures about 32 inches high to top of back rest and about 13 inches wide(width of seat) However on a chair like this there are three ways you can adjust the dimensions of the chair. First the back of chair can be moved up and down by adjusting the screw on the back and sliding it up or down. Then tightening the screw again. The heighth of the stool section is about 18 inches high as pictured. The height of the legs can be adjusted also to get an additional 4 inches of heighth by unscrewing the screw and replacing it in the slot you want it to be. The back rest can also be adjusted in and out by unscrewing wing nut on bottom and sliding it in or out to level of comfort and then tightening wing nut. The chair has a round metal foot rest on ... morethe legs. The seat is a composite type of material over the metal part of seat. The color of the stool/ chair is a very dark brown. The item does show some loss of paint and specks of paint over the dark brown( could be painted whatever color you want) This is a great industrial drafting chair that is in great structual shape and would look great in your home.
