Vintage Drexel Black Faux Leather and Oak
These Drexel chairs were originally bought from the Joske's store out of Texas on 04/07/1969. That is according the original tags that are on the bottom of the chairs. If you just type in your search engine"joskes of huston texas" you will bring up all sorts of information regarding the store where they were purchased. They are made of a faux black leather which is embossed and with huge nail heads surrounding the chair. The frame of the chairs are beautiful aged solid oak. The chairs measure 22" wide. Floor to top of seat is 15-1/2" and from floor to top back of chair is 31" The large nail heads are 1-1/4" round. The only condition of the chairs I can see are two small rips on one chair. I have one 48" Glass top Drexel table with black base and 4 Ralph Lauren Home Mayfair Occasional Chairs upholstered in Ralph Lauren Home Noble Estates Silk with velvet stripes. I can also include the extra fabric I have for these chairs. This set was displayed in a room that was hardly used. There is slight water spotting on a couple of the chairs. But if you wanted you can use the extra fabric to reupholster them. The collection featured an Italian Provincial design with gorgeous lines as seen in the shape of the armoire. Which is reminiscent of the furniture in Beauty and the Beast. As well as the deep serpentine dresser front and scallop of the headboard. All pieces are antiqued Ivory with a pale yellow tone with antiqued gold trim and adorned with pink. Green, blue and gold floral sprays. hardware is ornate and finished in white wash and antique gold. Both armoire and mirror have a shell center feature. Armoire can be purchased alone for $1000.00. Structurally very sound, some drawers are a bit stiff to pull out, especially the bottom one, could use the drawer slides being sanded down a bit and then waxed. RARE PAIR ANTIQUE 1940s DREXEL FRENCH DEMILUNE NIGHSTANDS TABLES pre TOURAINE
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL and RARE pair of antique. Old vintage(1940s) demilune nightstands/tables by Drexel. This pair is from a rare collection called REVERIA CHERRY. The pair have exquisite lines and ornate, carved details. They are"open" in their design(telephone table design) with a single drawer beneath the open shelf area. They feature a bow front as well as a combination of concave and bow sides. There are carved floral medallions inside recessed areas just below the table tops. Carved shells accent the tops of the beautiful cabriole legs. The feet have large ball/sphere accents. The tables are of the finest quality with solid wood construction. The drawers have dovetail joints instead of staples or nails/screws. The finish is original and is somewhat unique. It is antiqued(glazed) finish which a cream color ... morebase and a golden chocolate brushed over the cream. I could not find any information online regarding these pieces. I called Drexel Heritage and was told that this collection(pre Drexel Heritage) was produced by Drexel in the late 1940s. This collection predates their very popular, Mid Century, Touraine collection. The two collections are somewhat similar but the Reveria collection definitely has a more elegant and authentic French design. These tables/nightstands are quite striking. They are in very good condition with only minor signs of age/use. The finish has some surface scuffs and minor chips which add the aged character of the pieces. This could be resolved easily if you so desired. The tables are quite sturdy and are structurally excellent. The pair measures 28.25" tall. The are 20" wide and 13.5" front to back. The opened shelf area is 8.7/8" tall. 14.5" wide and 12" front to back. The drawers have an interior measurement of 11.25" wide, 1" tall and 12" front to back. There are also three curved drawers in the center that are dovetail and retain their original brass style hardware. The finish is a dark reddish-brown. Mid Century Drexel Mahogany Desk and Chair Set
This listing is for a mid century modern Drexel desk and chair set. Desk is mahogany and has a label in one of the drawers certifying it is'genuine mahogany' from the Mahogany Association. Inc. label is next to the Drexel stamp. All of the desk drawers are in good working order and are dove-tailed. There is a center drawer with a pen/pencil, etc. holder. This drawer has what appears to be an old ink stain(please refer to attached photo of this) The bottom drawer is a bit larger and has built in slats/ dividers for file folders. The desk top is very clean with very little wear to the original finish. Desk includes a glass top protector that was custom made for this piece. Glass top protector has a small chip that does not affect its purpose. The measurements of this piece = 50" long x 24" wide x 30" tall. The matching ... morechair is also mahogany with a thick vinyl seat in turquoise; appears to be original cover. Seat is in good shape with no rips or tears. Only other issue we observed is a chip to the mahogany on the lower left desk leg(please refer to attached photo of this) Overall, this is a nice, clean mid century set, that is solid and intact with loads of personality typical of the era.
