Description Welcome to my auction. For a truly elegant Antique Edwardian sterling solid silver table/ dressing table mirror. Being a superb shape. Fully Hallmarked- Sheffield 1901. Silversmiths Makers mark- W&H" Walker& Hall. The solid silver frame is decorated with lovely repousse silver work of flowers. Acanthus leaves& scrolls. With no splits or holes in the silver. The emerald green velvet back is in very good condition for its age with no rips or tears& still quite sumptious& vibrant in colour. The original bevelled edge mirror is clear with very minimal age wear& is supported by an easel stand. Absolutely Stunning. The velvet edge which surrounds the solid silver frame has become flat due to cleaning with colour loss. This does not detract in any way. There is evidence that the easel support has at sometime ... morein its life been stood out to far causing a crease to the top of the support. The easel still supports well. There is glue residue where the little silk ribbon has been stuck back down to prevent over extension of the support. Again quite minor& mention for accuracy. Measurements: Approx 10" inches or 25 cms tall X 12.5" inches or 32 cms wide. A beautiful& ornate antique mirror that would stand out proudly& grace any table/dressing table. The silver tops are all hallmarked for London 1913 and were made by John Pound& Co. who were a firm producing high quality. Luxury dressing cases in the early 20th century. The two oval section bottles have 12 cut glass facetted sides and the two round section bottles have 10. The right and left hand bottles in image 1 are 9.5 cm tall. A Vintage Cut Glass Shop / Store / Dressing Table Display Stand
This is an interesting and unusual item which I can only imagine is a shop display pedestal. It looks like it should have something draped over or around it and I can't think of any other purpose for it. It would also look good on a dressing table as a sort of giant necklace/ringthing. In my opinion. Judging by the style and shape, this probably dates back to the Art Deco period. Older Medium Size Three (3) Drawer Oak Chest Dressing Table From England
This auction is for an older three(3) drawer chest from England. It's a neat older chest on overall pretty good condition for it's age& travels. The top had a pretty dark oak backsplash with carved trim accents. Looking at the construction method of the drawers. They all have the very wide"dovetailed joints" and you can still see the lines where the maker had measured for cutting the depths of the joints. Most of this type of construction was stopped being used from 1915 to 1920, so I would palce the age before 1920. It has recessed panel sides and the top is made in a different manner than most. It has a 3/8" piece of the older thicker oak veneer over a 1/2" thick piece of secondary wood. I have seen solid oak tops and I have seen many oak veneer tops, but this a first for me. It would make a great addition ... moreto any bedroom or guest room. It would make a decent TV stand for the new Flat Panel TV's. It has a medium dark Oak Patina to it with a hint of red oak. The top is 35 5/8" X 17 1/4" and 30" tall to the shest top and 32 3/4" tall overall. The body of the chest is 33 1/2" X 15 3/4" and stands about 9 1/2" off the floor. All of the drawers are 30 3/4" X 12" They vary in depth starting at the top and going down they are 4 1/2" 4 3/4" and 5 3/8" deep. It's overall condition is good for it's age& travels. It has blemishes to the finish on the top and side panels. Drawer fronts(light/dark spots) some scratches and dings as most of the items we see coming over from England these days. There is no rot to any of the wood and there is no worm damage. With reasonable care, it will last another 100 or more years. Please remember, this is an 80 to 100 years old piece and not a reproduction, it has normal wear for it's age and Looks Wonderful Just The Way It Is.The backsplash will be removed when shipped and the buyer will have to re-attach it when it arrives. A handsome little antique powder pot. Presumably Edwardian. Or perhaps a little earlier. It comes with an exquisite powder puff; I have no idea how old this is. But it has clearly lived in the pot for some considerable time. The pot is three inches tall. And once formed part of a dressing-table set. The lid has the initials AS in silver-coloured metal. The base is marked: EBONY Condition The base of the pot is in excellent condition. With no damage except that the screw thread has worn a little on one side. The powder puff is beautifully soft and feathery. It still has a light dusting of powder. The lid is not quite so good as the rest of the pot. The top of the lid is good-looking. With the silver-coloured initials AS fixed in the centre, and a few marks from normal use. The sides of the lid. However, have 5 hairline cracks- presumably the ... morelid was forced or cross-threaded at some time in the past. The lid can no longer be fastened tightly. Because of the cracks. Pretty Vintage Hand Embroidered Tray/ Table/ Dressing Table Cloth/ Mat VGC This cloth belonged to my grandmother and I believe it was sewn by her- she was a dressmaker. It is in very good condition with no stains or holes. It is really beautiful! The lovely ladder worked edging is finished with blue stitching which makes it really stand out. Two of the corners have beautiful applique and embroidered flowers and the other two corners each have a pretty little embroidered flower. The quality of the needlework is excellent. It has a lovely ladder worked hemmed border and a spray of hand embroidered flowers on the edge of a circle of little embroidered flowers. The mat measures approximately 11" square. This is a 1930's art deco silver plated dressing table set consisting of a hand mirror. Brush and comb. The comb and brush bristles look like an early plastic and the comb can be removed from the silver comb holder(in case you ever needed to replace it) In excellent condition, a little light rubbing to the brush back but all still fully silvered. Each piece is marked either'EBONY' or'REAL EBONY' This super set is in very good used condition commensurate with age. There are no chips. Cracks etc in the wood. The mirror is still clear. However there is some tarnishing just around the edge. This is surely to be expected when you consider the age of this item. The bristles on both brushes are stiff and firmly attached.
