Ebony wood dressing table or desk tray with silver embellished compartment lids. Measures 13 x 8 inches. Stamped'REAL EBONY' to the base. Both lids have vacant cartouches and hallmarked London 1920, makers mark H F Daltrey& Co. the engravings are very clear, not at all rubbed and the hallmarks distinct. The ebony is in near perfect condition; there is a nick to the corner of one lid(see photo) a 1.5 inch hairline crack to one side of the base and a small rough mark to the inside, none of which are at all noticeable but I like to be meticulous. It has a very high polish. The glass has the typical period column design and is in really good condition. No chips cracks etc. Total weight of the item is 174g and measures 9 x 7.5 cm's. Antique SILVER Mounted 4 Piece Dressing Table Brush SET - Art Deco, 1931!!
Up for auction is this lovely Art Deco brush set The 4 items are in good condition overall. The silver shines up beautifully still. On offer is: A pair of oval shaped brushes. The main bodies are wood and still retain most of the original bristles- there are some missing but this is expected with age. Both are silver mounted and this is decorated with a lovely engined wavy pattern with a central plaque left plain. Both are covered in dents especially around the ends and one does have a split in the silver- again at one end. They measure 15cm by 4cm and stand 4.5cm in height A pair of handled brushes. The main bodies are wood which still retain all of the original bristles. They are silver mounted and this is decorated with the same engined wavy pattern as on the oval brushes. There are a few dents here and there especially around the top ... moreend. The handles are particularly decorative- also silver they have a lovely rounded shape and surprisingly are not dented or damaged- how they have survived I do not know! These brushes measure 25.5cm in length. 8cm in width and stand 4cm All four items are fully hallmarked on one side for Birmingham. 1931 and the maker"W.A" William Adams. The silver mount shines up beautifully still The main body is glass and has a lovely rounded shape decorated with engraved patterns. The underside has a star shape cut in The top is silver and simply pushes on. This is in good condition- there are dents over the top but no splits. It is decorated with a gorgeous engined patterned which certainly adds a quality look to the item. Pretty 3 Piece Dressing Table Set - C1900
A pretty 3 piece dressing table set.from around the early 1900's? The set is decorated with large pink and white flowers with foliage on a brown& cream background. On the front, the backs are plain.they originally had gilt edging which has now nearly all worn off. The large lidded bowl has two hairline cracks across the base& up the sides. And two small chips around the inside of the rim. The small lidded bowl has a tiny chip near its outside rim(see photo) The Scent bottle has no chips or cracks and has its original cork stopper. STYLISH ART DECO CHROME AND FAUX GUILLOCHE DRESSING TABLE TRAY WITH ACCESSORIES Dating from the first half of the 20th century this very stylish Art Deco dressing table tray with accessories is sure to make a statement to your decor. Standing on four feet the tray measures 34cm to the furthest points of the handles and measures 21.6cm wide inclusive of the splayed feet. The hard card base has warped slightly giving the faux guilloche a dipped center visable through the glass top. This is mentioned for accuracy and reflected in the asking price. The tray comes with three powder pots. All with moulded green glass bases with chrome and faux guilloche tops. The largest measures approx 6cm tall with an approx diameter at its widest point of 11cm. The two smaller pots stand approx 5cm tall and have an approx diameter of 8cm at their widest point. ... moreWith the dressing table set comes a very decorative candlstick in the form of a nude lady holding aloft the sconce. Again this is in chrome with faux guilloche. It measures 19.8cm tall with a base diameter of 9.4cm. There are a pair of matching candlesticks standing 6cm high with a base diameter of 7cm. The candlesticks may not have originally come with the set as the faux guilloche pattern is different although the colour is identical. Matching the pots is a perfume atomiser which unfortunately has lost its puffer. I have attatched no value to this and am including it purely because it is original to the set. Edwardian ebony wood screw top pot with silver'D' initial. Not hallmarked but tests solid silver. Measures 2.5 inches tall by 2.25 inches in diameter, stamped'REAL EBONY' to the base. Purchased through an estate sale in old Charleston, SC and in lovely condition for a late 19th century piece with three wonderful beveled mirrors, lovely burl walnut on the front of the drawers, six small drawers and two large drawers for lots of organized storage and a nice top surface. The finish is in good condition, commensurate with it's age with only the minor nicks and dents one would expect with respectful use over time. The three beautiful beveled mirrors are clear and in very good condition, free of cracks, chips or pitting. In my close up I show how easily these mirrors on the side remove for easy and safe transport then are simply hooked back in place. The large central mirror can also be easily removed and wrapped ... morefor shipping. This delightful dressing table or vanity with bureau drawers has all it's hardware except one drawer pull has the back plate but is missing the handle itself. SUPERB CONDITION This is a delightful and rather rare ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN solid sterling silver tray that was made by the illustrious silversmiths. S. Blanckensee& Son in Birmingham, England in 1903 at their Great Hampton Street workshops. It is in a gorgeous rectangular shape with lovely embossed decoration and has a beautiful scalloped lip. It is a lovely size. It measures 5 1/2" wide. 3 1/2" deep and stands 1/2" high- it weighs 54.0 grams- which is virtually 1 3/4 troy oz. It is NOT engraved to the cartouche in the centre. Freshly laundered and ironed. All my items are vintage or antique.Hence used to some degree and not split new but will be in very good vintage condition unless specified as for craft work or salvage. Being from a bygone age when linen was mostly sent to a laundry, many items will have laundry identification marks or nametapes in a corner. A stunning mirror made by top-notch London silversmith. William Comyns in a popular and very stylish fluted design almost resembling Peacock Feathers with an Art Nouveau flair. Standing on it's velvet covered easel stand, it can be packed flat for storage and travel. What makes this a particularly desirable example is the heart shaped original bevelled mirror making a very romantic choice. The silver has a full English hallmark for London 1898 and a separate maker's mark, W.C. for William Comyns. As evidenced by the claw and ball feet, which is a harbinger of the Chippendale form that emerges later in the 18th century. This table, interestingly, retains its original highly desirable open-faced brasses and is in fine condition.
