Breathtaking huge Austrian ornately carved solid oak sideboard buffet cupboard
This once-in-a- lifetime piece has been lovingly cared for all of its' life-125 years-and its' condition shows it. The original finish glows and the gleaming brass handles. Hinges and locks accentuate the magnificent hand carving-people, gargoyles, leaves, acanthus, practically a catalogue of the woodcarver's Art. We have owned it for almost 40 years and it is a treasured part of our household. But, time moves on and we are down-sizing. We were told. When we were living in Germany, that during the wars, pieces like this were wrapped in oilcloth and buried out on the grounds to protect them. They certainly weren't in any danger of being carried off! The measurements of this piece are: 10 8 inches(9' tall by 8 2 inches wide by 3 2 inches deep. It needs at least 10 foot ceilings and a nine foot wide wall to look right. But-oooohhh ... morethe storage! There are four. 26 inch deep drawers for silver, placemats, candles and tablecloths. Four cupboards, down below, hold all your china, platters, bowls and vases. Up above, the two-door cupboard holds crystal and glassware and the open shelves show off your collections. For Your consideration I have a very primitive One Door Cupboard or Cabinet. You can see what is left of the paint. There is an old iron latch with porcelain knob and directly below the latch is a lock for the door. I do not have the key. Please check the pictures for the cut out arched door and sides of the cupboard. The hinges are old but do not appear to be original. This is a primitive item and not a fine antique. It measures 30 1/4" Tall and the top surface is 20" across the front and 14 1/4" Deep. It should be cleaned. It came out of a smoky cabin. It has a superb prim look. ANTIQUE HANDCRAFTED OAK DRY SINK BAR CABINET CUPBOARD WITH MARBLE TOP
This dry sink has been in the family for at least three generations. It's solid wood- oak I believe- with a red-brown marble top. It has seen some use and has a few scratched spots(see photos) but is a really nice serviceable piece of furniture; sort of a small gem. I've tried to capture it's character in the attached photos. Features: White oak(I'm pretty sure) construction« Maple( inlays on the drawer fronts« All original hardware. Including the porcelain casters« Dovetail joints on the drawers« Original red-brown marble top. I've been in the marble business for 30 years and don't recognize the stone; I'm guessing it's from an old eastern quarry. 30" wide x 16" deep x 38-1/2" tall to top of backsplash I can find no identification from the manufacturer but the piece is obviously ... morehandmade. While the front and sides are nicely finished. The bottoms of the drawers and the back panels are rough sawn. There are markings on the bottom of the large drawer which say"J.M.T. Macon City Mo, perhaps indicating a customer name as though the piece was being shipped to them. These are similar to the markings on furniture in the steamboat Arabia museum here in Kansas City, all of which dates from the 1850's. While I do sell a variety of items on eBay. I’m not an antiques or collectibles dealer. This is an item from my mom’s estate that we’ve decided to part with. I do know that it’s old, but as I’m not certain of its provenance, I will gladly take it back if you receive it and decide that it’s not what you expected. For shipping purposes. A mid 20th century wardrobe/ cupboard/ dresser. This solid wood piece stands 6 feet 1" tall. 15 1/2" deep and 45" wide across the main body. The crown extends out 2" more on either side. There are 4 interior shelves and the fixed bottom board to use for storage. This piece was originally a wardrobe and the shelving was added later. Along with what looks like hooks for cups to hang on. There are 4 hooks that go with the piece. Please note; there is one hook missing(5 holes, 4 hooks) All surfaces are painted, except for the very top which appears to be a 14" wide oak plank. Antique Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet Copper Counter Slag Glass Doors
Vintage Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet w/Copper& Slag Glass Doors This is a gorgeous old kitchen'Hoosier style' cupboard. It has the base. The hutch and a beautiful copper topped counter that does indeed pull out on the base. The top hutch has three doors on the top part with leaded Slag Glass in green and white milk-glass. These appear to have been added to the doors some time ago when this piece appears to have been refinished. The lower part of the upper hutch have two larger wooden doors. The outside of the right door appears to have sustained surface water damage to it some time ago. The bottom base part has one large latching door on the left side that reveals a metal lined storage bin with one wire rack making a shelf in it. The right side has three drawers where the twop two right side drawers are in wood and the ... morebottom right drawer is lined in tin/metal. The counter is simply beautiful. The counter was resurfaced in a solid sheet of copper sometime ago when the entire piece was lightly refinished. The copper counter has a nice protective coat of varnish or poly on it as does the entire piece. The sheen is in a nice soft gloss. Not a shreakingly heavy gloss that makes one put on sunglasses just to look at it. This piece is on metal casters with wood wheels and is easy to move if needed. The drawer pulls appear to be original to the piece. However some of the upper hardware appears to have either been moved during the restoration or have been replaced. All the hardware appears to be correct for the piece, I just can not swear it is all orginal to the piece. The family reports that they just remember this piece being as it has always been so the restoration work done on this piece was done at least more than 40-50 years ago. If I were to keep this for my very own. I would be proud to display it in my own kitchen and show it as my own. Take that for what it is worth. I will gladly entertain reasonable offers. Large early 1900's painted jelly cupboard
This a wonderful and very large piece of Americana.I purchased this many years ago from a barn sale at an old 200 year old farm in Simsbury.CT.I have used it to display all my primitives which I have demonstrated in the pictures(Sorry,but contents are not include,this auction is for the cupboard only) and I have had so many compliments on it.Unfortunately I no longer have room for it and it breaks my heart to part with it.It is approx 7 feet tall and 5 feet wide but is very shallow so it hugs the wall and as long as you have the wall space it won't take up too much floor space.It is a wonderful showcase for all your primitive collectibles but it can also serve as additional storage in your country kitchen or pantry which was it;s original purpose.Although I don't know it's exact age,I was told when I purchased it that it was from ... moresomewhere between 1900 and 1910.It has at least 3 layers of paint which as you can see in the pictures has chipped away over the years.I have never sealed the piece and rather have chosen to allow the piece to continue to peel over the years but I was told by an antique dealer that it could be sealed with polyurethane which would preserve what is left of the original paint and would prevent any more peeling.The top of the piece has crown molding which was removed when we placed the piece under the roof out on the covered deck but I have loosely placed it on top to show how it looks with it in place.It can easily be nailed back in place.There is also a base molding which is painted a greenish blue and the interior of the cupboard is beadboard which is painted a kind of robins egg blue.I have no idea how old any of the paints are but can see at least 3 layers.The outermost is antique white then dark brown and then a greenish blue.If you have the ceiling height you can also display some collectibles on top as well.I hope someone will see the beauty in this reminder of the past and give it a new home.Happy bidding and thanks for looking!

These brass finish back plates will hide an impressed circle from a previously larger knob. Or dress up a plain drawer front. They are 1/4 inch high by 3 1/2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide. The indent for the knob is 3/4 of an inch wide. This batch of 14 is not polished for the people that prefer it that way. But they do shine up nicely with brass polish. The finish is smooth until you look very close. It has a tiny texture to make it a satin finish rather than polished. The backside is stamped National Lock. I recycle packaging. Angular stepped design. The longer part of the hinge is about 3“ from the outer point to where it bends to connect to the other piece. That other piece is about 2-¼“ from top to bottom. The hinges need some work! Finishes are worn or peeling showing underlying darkened metal. Three of the four have tiny cracks at outer edges. Early Colonial Arch Front Cupboard Original Oxblood - Mustard Grain Paint
Primitive Cabinet* This is an exceptional and very early colonial American cupboard. I purchased this from UT1869. A top rated antique dealer of exquisite, authentic Americana in Virginia in 2004. I have moved to a smaller home and this piece needs a new home. I listed this as early and I believe 1740- 1760, but I am not an expert nor a dealer so I welcome any questions, information or requests for more images to help you decide. I see several different layers of'coloration' The base layer is oxblood. Then a mustard paint. It is heavily'alligatored' The inside is untouched. The original latch mechanism is no longer functioning, although the metal pieces are there. It would need restoration to the metal latching portion on the door to make it original. It has an old knob on the door and a metal twist latch that allows for closure. ... moreThere are areas of the cornice pieces that need tightening as shown. The back board is chamfered and in the original oxblood color. The door frame is mortise and tenon as are other portions of the framework. On the top there are 4 holes of unknown purpose(each measures 1/2" in diameter) There are no signs on the back that this cabinet was ever hung apart from the 4 holes mentioned in the top where it may have been hung from above. The backboard is one piece of wood measuring 22 1/4" across& 25 1/2" top to bottom(without framework) I see about 4 or 5 square-head nails but they are deep and covered with age& patina. The sides have large dovetailing visible at the base. A truly superb find with exquisite patina! She's made from painted muslin and has black bead eyes. She's wearing a Homespun blanket that has been painted and aged with a American Wool sign that was stitched on and made out of paper. Also, I have stitched on the blanket 3 rusty bells. She has a wool tail that has been needle felted on. I used a Kentucky Primitives pattern to create this adorable cupboard Sheep hanger.
