Free Shipping Condition: Used Location: La Grange, United States This is a credenza designed by Florence Knoll and made by Knoll. It is a wonderful example of the Bauhaus ideals of her design work. She resisted being ... morecalled a furniture designer and self-deprecatingly described her furniture designs as“architectural fill-ins” for the gaps around the designs of other designers in the Knoll catalog like Harry Bertoia. Eero Saarinen, Mies Van Der Rohe, Isamu Noguchi etc. Yet the designs themselves have proven her wrong. Beyond the overall form and her leather pull handles. Which are a very well thought out softening of the“touch-points” of the design, this model credenza is quite variable. It was available with a wood, linoleum, or marble top. The legs were either chrome steel, black steel, wooded legs, or even no legs as a floating wall mount. The doors were wood, or white lacquer. The only standard internal components were the pair of shelves, and beyond that they could be specified with a bay of drawers, a file drawer bay, or a bay with pull-out electronics tray for a Dictaphone(the electronic voice recorded of the day, which recorded 15 minutes of speech onto a single use vinyl belt) This particular specimen has a very well balanced mixture of the variables. With a beautiful walnut case and walnut bypass doors, chrome steel legs, and all three optional bays(stack of drawers, hanging file drawer, and electronics tray) The interior is all oak. The drawers in the stack are all solid oak fronts and sides, with dovetail construction. They also have built in drawer stops, so you can’t accidentally pull the drawer all the way out and drop it. The hanging file drawer has metal slides to bear the extra weight. The pull-out electronics tray also has metal slides and the bay has a hole for cords. All the extra space in the bays has holes for the shelf hanger clips, so the pair of shelves can be re-arranged to match your needs. Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. The hardware, as well as the design, makes this piece much more eye catching, with steel pulls and horizontal rosewood tips on each pull. This piece measures 54" x 32" x 18" deep. There are 6 drawers. Shipping will be done via freight or local pick up. If you live near Orlando(32804)I can deliver for free. If you live outside of Orlando please message me for a fuel charge. Mid Century Modern credenza- petite size. Nice walnut tamboured door reveals cabinet space for media/audio equiptment with a sizable rounded rectangle hole in the bottom. This unit has been refinished and shows minute issues- some rubbed spots on the tamboured doors as seen in pic 9. Slight edge wear in pic 10. This piece does not have any markings. It measures 38" x 29" tall x just over 18" deep. Mid Century Modern Credenza Danish Teak Buffet Tamboured Door Signed Plinth Base
Mid Century Danish Modern Large Credenza/Buffet by Dyrlund of Denmark. This piece features a tamboured door in the center and a nice and sturdy black plinth base. This measures 79"x 19"x 25"tall. There is some slight darkening/wear on the very front center top of the credenza. As seen in photos 7& 8. There are some faint teak oil streaks as seen in photos 5& 6.The bottom rim, where the doors slide, has some markings, as seen in photos 9& 11. I'm not sure if these are blemishes or not, because they appear to stretch the entirety of the base rim. Each side has 3 drawers with dovetail joints as seen in photo 10. 72" Stow & Davis Wood Credenza
Stow& Davis Wood Credenza H = 30" W = 72" D = 21" Age unknown. I believe we acquired this in 1983. Not sure if purchased new. I can not find any Stow& Davis labels on this credenza, the only mark is a"74" punched into the wood circled in blue under one of the drawers. We have a Stow& Davis desk appropriately labeled and this credenza matches the style and construction of it. The condition is good showing normal wear and is not missing any hardware(bronze? not sure what type of wood is used. We also have the matching desk for this credenza.
