I have owned this since the 1990's. Purchased in France. Downsizing decades of treasures as we prepare to move again. This chinoiserie tole tea caddy box measures 6.5" X 5" X 3" Hinge is fully intact and functional. Lovely scalloped shape. Please view photos in detail- zoom in. I took photos from every angle and a couple with a flash so you could see the interior. This is circa mid to late 1800's piece. As you can see. There is paint chipping and wear on the black painted area, however many areas of floral chinoiserie design remain. The bottom has heavy wear, and inside has heavy oxidation. While this piece is lovely with a beautiful patina- it is very old and has the wear associated with age and clearly has had use over the last century+ time frame. Antique ca.1871-1880 Chinoiserie Polychrome E.M. & Co.Chang Bulbous Teapot & Jug
Offered is a charming and provincial Oriental over-painted transfer printed depiction of a garden scene with two figures and flowering plants in urns and the earth. With a border on the teapot done in a diaper pattern. Co lors are golden yellow ochres. Raspberry pinks, burnt oranges, lime greens, cad yellow lights and teals over a pale creamy white ground. The over painted trim work is nicely done in a deep burnt red. HALLMARKS: The teal colored E. M. Co. B. mark on the teapot and the creamer denotes Edge Malkin& Co. circa 1871-1880. The teapot has a pattern name of“Chang” The creamer jug has a dog and does not have the pattern name of“Chang” But it is obvious both pieces are of the same design. CONDITION: Teapot: excellent. But for one irregular shaped 3/16” x 1/8” chip to the bottom, which if there has to be one, this is a good place, ... moresince it does not show or detract from displaying this piece. There are no other chips. Hairlines or cracks to the teapot. Creamer: no chips. Cracks, hairlines. Overall the teapot is smooth inside. But for about 5 little brown specks of firing glaze pops that are original to the pot and there is a hint of discoloration inside the spout, most likely from tea. The creamer is smooth and white inside with no toning or glaze pops that I could see. For both pieces there is a little of the usual rubbing to the dark red cold/over-paint. There also is a little bit of the usual very light crazing to this teapot and matching creamer. Sometimes lustrous beautiful things come in smaller sizes and this is one of those times. Offered for sale. To see if this lovely and special collectible swirled shape oval dish with self handles may be to your liking, is a marked Carlton Ware deep Indigo blue that was sponged or dabbed on for a slightly variegated appearance, with gorgeous enamels and gilt detailing. To quote; Best Ware was the name given on the works for the more highly decorated wares. Usually employing elaborate printed and enamelled patterns. The highly skilled techniques needed to make them had been established early on with the Blush Ware patterns. The Best Ware of their time. Often Best Ware patterns were underglaze painted. As well as using onglaze enamels and lustres, gold printing and raised enamelling. The most popular were the many Chinoiserie patterns such as ... moreMIKADO. TEMPLE and the elaborate CHINALAND. This dish is marked in the script mark(1926-1987) on the bottom in gold; Carlton Ware MADE IN ENGLAND“TRADE MARK” Plus below that is a golden enamel little checkmark that maybe the artist’s signature? I am not 100% certain of the pattern name. But from what I have observed this is the Mikado pattern, or perhaps what is called Chinaland. The typical blue versus orange Paul Cezanne colors add delight and vibrancy to this pattern and the rest of the colors are perfectly combined to literally visually bounce off each other. The Scrumptious Colors are; Indigo blue. Brilliant orange, pink, light plum, lavender blue, cadmium yellow bright, powder blue and vivid chartreuse green ranging to a darker mid-green. The thickly enameled 3-dimensional chartreuse colored dots and graceful moss amongst the tree branches also serve as abstracted raised enamel outlines for flowers and shrubbery. Royal Worcester Bowl, Bailey Banks & Biddle 1910 Chinoiserie Pattern Blue, Green
Circa 1910 Royal Worcester Bowl. This striking Chinoiserie design porcelain bowl was made in England by Royal Worcester. This bowl was sold by the highly acclaimed jewelry retailer Bailey Banks& Biddle of Philadelphia Pennsylvania and is marked as such. The dot code used on the Royal Worcester mark indicate that the bowl was manufactured in 1910. The English registry number denotes that the pattern design was registered in 1909. We are not sure if this Asian influenced pattern was ever assigned a name by the company(Replacements calls it simply“RW7” This large wide rimmed(soup? bowl has a diameter of 9 5/8” 24.5 cm) The deep bowl stands 2” 5 cm) tall at the rim. The porcelain is molded with a scalloped inset area in the center of the bowl. The design is transfer printed in shades of green and blue. This is a true vintage After Six tuxedo. Dinner, or smoking jacket-depending on how you choose to wear it. You can see the styling: peak lapels, centre vent, besom pockets, 2-button closure, etc. It was sold at Jacob Reed's in Philadelphia. The colouring's between an indigo and midnight blue. With black chinoiserie woven into the fabric. It's really the colour that makes it a unique and striking piece. Although the wide lapels(4.75" don't hurt. No condition issues to mention. The jacket is in excellent condition. The jacket's tagged a 44L. And measures true to the tagged size: approximately 22.5" in the chest, 18.5" in the shoulders, 26.75" in the sleeves, and 32" from the bottom of the back collar to the hem. It will not fit a 42R. I believe it is likely English and probably dates from the 1st half of the 19th Century. The cup has an incised script number in the bottom but is otherwise unmarked. The cup measures approx. 2 5/8" high and 2 5/8" in diameter. The saucer measures 5 1/8" in diameter. This is from China and during the later 1700-1800's when Chinoiserie was most popular this type of work was imported to England and other countries. I do not know the age of this piece but with the advent of the treadle sewing I would guess 1900-1930. Purchase several years ago at an estate sale. I did not get any information at the time. Filled with birds of different types. Butterflies, bees, and more flowers than I know the name of. Most of the appliques are still intact. But a few have shattered and some are missing a portion of the applique. None are completely missing but a few do have some damage. The backing is a pin striped satin or silk. It has a cotton header that ... morelends me to believe this was a wall hanging. It must have been in a very grand home as it is quite large. Measurements are 92" wide x 88" long. Consisting of a cup, saucer and bread and butter plate was manufactured by Samuel Radford(1879-1957) at their pottery in High Street, Longton, Staffordshire. The pattern number is 1006 and the RD number is 390220. The condition is excellent antique(not new) As it is free from cracks, chips or visible crazing. The gilding is intact. It is normal tea size. I.e. the cup wide mouthed cup stands 5.5cms tall, the saucer is 14.5cms in diameter, and the plate is 17.5cms in diameter. The decoration is a combination of hand painting over a sepia coloured transfer print and comprises stylised Burnt Orange flowers with Gold centres. And a border of Green with gold cross hatching. There is a chinoiserie style picture to the centre of the saucer, ... moreplate and inside base of the cup. All edges are gilded and finished with delightful pie edge scalloping. Despite the crack in the plate this is a lovely antique set from the renowned Radford Pottery. This is a 6& 1/2" plate in the Chinoiserie"Birdseller" pattern. It is a transfer plate with dark brown and pale tan added by hand. It has a pale tan"H" on the back but no other indication of the maker. It is definitely English. It is in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or scratches.

This nice early plate measures 9 1/2" 24.2 cm) in diameter and is 1" 2.5 cm) high(or deep) It is earthenware with the blue under glaze. It was first produced in 1810. This is an earlier one. As it is scalloped and you can see the"raised" blue slip, when you move it back and forth in the light. This was a famous early pattern, with the large ruins and the two Asian style characters in the forefront. The designs on the plate edge are great too, with alternating ferns and palm fronds. The plate is not marked, which was not uncommon then. In"The Encyclopedia of Marks" by Kowalsky, he lists the Potters who did this pattern. There was Davenport, John Rogers& Sons, Job Ridgway& Sons, Andrew Stevenson and Ralph Stevenson. The condition is visibly great overall, with no chips or discoloration. The only flaw is ... morea 1 3/4" thin hairline that runs on the bottom center rim to the edge of the plate. This plate is featured in"Christie's Collectibles-Blue and White China"for $200. English Tea Tin with Chinoiserie Decoration Circa 1890
This large. Beautiful tole tea tin is decorated in gold with a fun scene of two men tossing a ball in a garden under a tree. The word tea is stenciled on the front. The top and sides have been decorated with a"leafing" pattern. This size tin was used in a store from with small personal portions were dispensed. The front of the tin is rounded in, the top is flat and about ½ the depth of the tin. This would be a perfect piece to turn into a lamp base. We are pleased to offer this beautiful table. The table is vintage Maitland Smith with hand applied. Earlier signature. The table is a two piece unit as the tray top is removable. The base is wood with bamboo detail. It is finished in black lacquer with gold accents. The tray top is metal with fabulous scalloped edges. It is hand painted with a floral and urn centerpiece. It is further accented with gilded scrolls and lattice patterns. This is a superb table with an elegant and timeless charm. It is in very good vintage condition with some minor evidence of age and use. There are minor surface scratches(from cleaning cloths) on the top and a few, very minor paint chips. There is nothing severe or distracting. The table is signed but the original gold foil sticker is almost completely removed. This is a larger version(coffee/cocktail) of tray ... moretables. ~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ Absolutely amazing ~*~ this is one of those wonderful fabrics that is 10 times more beautiful in person that any photograph could capture! This lovely panel is an antique French printed cotton dating c1870 ~ wonderful design elements of Rococo and Chinoiserie. Fruit, ribbons, birds, it's all there! This fabric was printed using roller printers for the ground and the LOVELY grey tones were applied using hand carved wooden blocks. Tiny pins pressed into blocks created the beautiful picotage design ~ this fabric is a VERY high quality and would have been an extremely expensive purchase. The top has been machine stitched and gathered and along the top edge as small holes surrounded by rust, which tells me that this piece was most likely nailed to a 4 poster bed. Large Decorative Antique Hand Painted Asian Tole Tray Chinoiserie Circa 1940s
A chic vintage tole ware tray circa 1940s. Hand painted in an Asian theme and signed. The base color is an antique cream/yellow shade. It measures about 25 3/4" by 17 3/4" and is rather heavy weighing about 4 1/2 lbs. There is the remnant of a foil label on the back but I do not know the maker. The condition is very good with wear. From my mom's estate comes this gorgeous. Hand painted Chinoiserie plate which features a floral and butterfly motif, enhanced with gold. The plate measures approx 10.25" in diameter. It is in excellent vintage condition. With no cracks, chips, nicks, breaks, flea bites or repairs that I can find. The painting is all in excellent condition. as well. I have been unsuccessful in identifying the Chop mark on the back and thus am unable to provide any further information as to the maker or manufacturer or artisan or its actual age. Up for auction is a Williamsburg Reproduction Oud Delft Polychrome Pitcher based upon an original Liverpool example from 1740. This Polychrome Jug is in MINT CONDITION! No signs of damage or wear. Decorated with a small Chinoiserie pattern of a house and trees as well as men on a fishing boat. It is a size adaptation of the much smaller original in Williamsburg. Fully marked with the rare RED MARK Williamsburg Oud Delft and Williamsburg Craft House Seal. Used only for a few years before returning to the traditional Blue Mark.
