I hauled this out of the basement of an old home, and it is showing some age ... morewear, most notably with a couple slices out of drawer faces. There is slight pull away of the dovetailing on the bottom, but I think you could probably carefully tap it back into place. The previous owner did a very slap-up job of putting a dark stain on it, so the finish is somewhat inconsistent, you can see the oak in places inside, and there are faint watermarks on top, but I honestly love the look and character of this piece, and it's completely solid and functional. All four metal sliders are still inside, though they are a little stiff/rusty. Measures about 16" x 13 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Vintage Library Card Catalog File Brass Rod Knobs - Oldies !!!
These are the heavy solid brass knurled nuts that are usually on rods but these are not. These are frequently used to show on the outside and the rod not used anyway. Anyway- eight are the threaded type. Two tapered plug, no threads, knurled section slightly thicker than threaded ones. 13/16" dia, project 1'2" off vertical when installed, have a slightly"domed" face. These are the real deal for that classic look. Litttle bit of paint, lot of dirt but they polish up nicely.

For auction are very nice vintage drawer fronts out of old school card catalog. These are solid wood not laminate. Pressboard or plastic! I am not certain, but it appears to be some type of Oak, but it has medium-light color. These are in great condition with just a few tiny marks for decades of use. The hardware appears to be brass(Not 100% sure. But it is not steel) but it has a nickle finish and does have some wear. These would be great for decorative use. Or to replace or repair an existing card catalog. The pin that holds the base of the cards in place is included. Each measures 5.5" wide and 3 3/4" tall and is 3/4" thick. This listing is for 2 rods. In solid condition. These are vintage, brass rods that slide into library card catalog drawers to hold cards in place. Length is 16 3/4 inches. Diameter of the hole these will fit is 11.32" or 8.73mm(see photos-measurement taken below the'stop' of the brass knob) Knobs are solid brass, rod is brass finish over steel. Antique Yawman and Erbe Mfg Co Oak Dovetailed Single Drawer File Card Catalog. This is nice old library card filing drawer made by Yawman and Erbe Mfg. Co. in Rochester. N.Y. It's in original"as found" condition. The box is fully dovetailed on both the top and bottom as well as the drawer itself. The inside mechanism is complete with the slider that holds cards upright. It's just right for 3 x 5 recipe cards which is what I used if for. It works smoothly and is nice and solid. The length is about 17"s x 6-3/4" wide by 4-7/8th tall. Has all the original seperate card dividers A-Z most look to be in great condition.

This beautiful oak card catalog box was made by Gaylord Bros. Inc. and its dovetail oak construction really makes this piece stand out. It's only two drawers. So it can find a home anywhere in your house. It would make a particularly nice recipe box. The drawers also have dovetailed construction and slide open easily. All hardware is brass and has been hand polished to a high shine, including the screws. The label on the back is also polished brass. The oak appears unfinished and has been lightly treated with natural oils to preserve the aged quality of the wood and give it a beautiful shine. This box is in great shape with no major damage. There are a few thin vertical cracks in the sides that I see a lot of in older pieces with dovetail construction. Vintage Card Catalog / Index Card 6 Drawer Metal Industrial Cabinet Brass Pulls
This is an old metal card catalog for 6"X4" cards. The cabinet a slightly rusty industrial gray with a military green under the gray. And it measures 20" tall X 14& 3/4" wide x 16" deep. The pulls are all brass. And in sliding inserts are all there, you can remove them or slide them all the way back to use this piece for storage. The outer shell looks like it is 3 separate units stacked on top of each other. But this is 1 single unit, you may be able to separate them, I don't know. All drawers slide out fine. And there is minimal rust. I would date this to around the 1950s. It came out of a dentist office, and it held patient insurance information. Dovetailed joints and very rich rustic looking wood and hardware. There are some scratches on it but it only to me adds to the character. I am not certain the wood it is made from. Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. Here's an antique quartersawn oak library card catalog. Made around 1920-1930. It has the4-drawer configuration with it's original adjustable card supports, brass hardware. This file is a great example of the quality American craftsmanship of the first half of the twentieth century, with beautiful oak woodgrain patterns, dovetailed drawer construction, and raised arts and crafts side panels.This particular file also has nifty brass rods that allow the top to come off in case you have other units that you would like to stack. Please look at the photos to see how nice this is. Dimensions are 16" wide by 13" tall. By 19" deep. It holds the 3 by 5 inch index cards. Vintage Q Sawn OAK "LIBRARY BUREAU SOLEMAKERS" 2 Drawer 6 Rows Card Catalog Rare
Offering for your consideration this beautiful quartered oak card catalog. This file is in excellent condition. I have never come across one like this in 30 yrs. of buying and selling antiques, it has 3 seperate compartments in each drawer also the drawers faces are hinged to swing out of the way to remove the rods, however the rods are missing and the key also is missing. These are easy to make keys for and the rods are standard round stock. Most people that would use this would not need the cards locked in like this, so it can be used as is. Vintage oak 18 drawer library card file. Some drawers are lined with material. Others still have the original hardware inside.
