Great sounding Ampeg cabinet for sale! I love this thing. It's easy to get around considering its size since it has the wheels on the back and the sturdy metal bar. It's like a half size version of"the fridge" Ampeg cabinet we see everywhere. The grill cloth has a couple vertical tears on the left side of the face that you can see in the photo. The tolex all around is in good condition, but it's used so there are scratches and marks here and there, but no tears and no missing pieces or anything like that. Cabinet portrait in memoriam. Post mortem tribute to James A(bram) Garfield(1831-1881) 20th president of the United Sates. Garfield was shot by Charles J. Guiteau in a Washington DC railway station on July 2, 1881 and died two months later on September 19, 1881. In very good condition with minor wear and soiling to surface of the photo and mount. Photographer and location unknown. This is perhaps the most common image of Garfield(with or without the facsimile autograph) and must have been widely circulated during the latter part of his life. What is of particular interest here is the photographer's mask(motif) of leaves. Dried roses(as well as what appears to be a vegetable of some sort) and dark(oddly brown not black) border superimposed over the photo thereby transforming it into a memorial picture. This auction features a matched pair of Singer Sewing Machine Cabinet Drawers including the framework and attached hardware including a leaf support and two metal hooks with extra screws. The drawer pulls are brass and embossed with Singer Mfg Co. The hardware alone is worth the asking price. The wood appears to be oak. There a few scuffs and chips in the wood from not unexpected wear and tear from an antique piece. Each drawer assembly measures approximately 14-3/4" long x 5-3/4" wide x 5-3/4" high. 1900s Indian Portrait Wild West Show Cabinet Photo
Amazing old antique cabinet photo. With what we believe to be images of a Wild West Show. This is one of 3 photos that we're selling on ebay this week- all three were purchased from an estate. This is photo#3. It features a solo portrait of one actor with norses and wagon/buggies in the background. The subject matter is ideal and you can tell the poor chap in this photo was not interested- he looks hot and tired. Fantastic detail with his costume, and I notice the beaded bag he is carrying has two letters of H and H on the bottom. I think this was called a bandolier bag. I found one similar to this featuring a native american in wisconsin history.org. Maybe the letters give a clue as to where this show as performed. The first photo is on my scanner. The second is a scan at a very high high resolution(please note that this scan changed ... morethe coloring of the photo, much better and clearer than the actual photo, but proof that a very good image can be drawn from this) and the last two are with my camera. I"m not sure if this guy was an amercian actor, or a native american- it is hard to tell. His constume is very ornate and decorative with flowers and leaves. We are no experts on identifying native american tribes, but when doing some reserach, found the costumes in this photo to be very similar to the Ojibwa(ojibwe, ojibway) chippewa, or annishinabe attire. Again, this is just a guess, but these costumes look similar to his. He looks to be holding turkey feathers in his hands and has bells on his feet. Very fancy outfit indeed! The cabinet photo measures 10 x 8 inches, and the actual photo measures 7 x 4.75 inches. The condition of the cabinet is as follows: when I lay it flat, the top left and bottom right corners are raised up so there is a slight curl to the cabinet. All four corners have scuffs/wear. There is a couple of hlight stain marks on the top right corner, very light wear overall. The back has light wear and the bottom right corner has surface chipping. This is an early American Cabinet. Or converted radio cabinet, made in James Town New York by the Tillotson Furniture Manufacturing Corporation. The front of the cabinet is Tiger Maple. This is in beautiful condition with few marks or chips on the outside. The inside has holes where the radio(probably) was connected. Both sides of the cabinet open. The side not pictured is lattice work. All the doors open and close nicely. The top of the cabinet is also in excellent condition. The year of manufacture is from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
