Buffet R13 Bb Clarinet 66mm Barrel GREAT Focus & Sound, better than most stock!!
Now THIS is a barrel! I've tried them all- Bakun. Chadash, Moennig, Gao, David Weber, other Buffet R13 stock- and this is the SECOND best one I've ever played on! The best is currently a vintage Moennig that is just superb, but good luck trying to find one of those! Focus is great. Sound is sweet, projection is solid. Tuning is excellent, and there's really no wear at all on it(look at the pictures for yourself) I'd highly recommend this to someone who is displeased with their sound. But doesn't want to spend several thousand on a new instrument(or over 200 for a Bakun, which, IMO, dulls the sound! This mouthpiece was originally manufactured from a Chedeville blank and exhibits the traditional“1 up/ 3 down” line configuration associated with those blanks. It now features my personal medium long facing and has had the baffle and sidewalls slightly reshaped to offer a more immediate response with greater tonal focus and superior intonation. The 1.06 mm tip and medium facing(18 mm) is a medium design that allows the player excellent control but remains very free blowing. Up for auction is a Vintage Evette Schaeffer Buffet Crampon Alto Saxophone. Serial number 7231. This saxophone date to production in 1960. This saxophone is being sold in AS-IS condition. The sax is playable, but as I do not play I do not know if the quality of the sound. I'm sure with age it could benefit from some adjustment by a professional. All the keys work and the neck is straight. To my knowledge the sax has never undergone any repair. The laquer is worn and appears tarnished in many spots and has many scratches. The salesman told me that the Clarinet needs to be re-padded. There is a little nick out of one end which I have marked with a red arrow.I showed it to Salesman and he said it was no problem at all and would not affect play of the instrument. He checked out the spring action on the levers and said they are fine.and there is a little pitting on a few spots. This auction is for a vintage wood Eb soprano(sopranino) clarinet. The bell. Which may or may not be original as it seems to have a slightly lighter color to the wood than the rest of the body. Is marked Henry Frenier. Paris. This is obviously a stencil of some French maker. But I'm not p ositive which one. It does have the wrap around register key as I've seen on old Buffets. But others probably did that as well. If anyone with more knowledge than me on this subject know s who the maker is I'd love to hear from you! Anyway. I don't see a serial number on it, but I believe it is around 100 years old(give or take a bit) based on the case and what I was told by the person I bought ... moreit from. I got it from the Grandson of the original owner w ho said his Grandfather played it in col lege roughly 100 years ago. This instrument is marked LP for low pitch. The desired tuning for modern use. It is in very nice condition. It was recently fully re-padded by Ward Brot music in Madison, WI and has not b een played since. I gues s the prior owner got talked into it when he brough t i t in for an ap praisial despite the fact that he had no intention of playing it. Anyway. The pads are in perfect shape it plays from top to bottom. I did notice that it was a little stuffy on a few of the lower notes. So it might need a little adjusting. Then again, it might have just been my poor skills on the clarinet coupled with playing on a bad reed(the only one I could scroung e up for Eb sop. The body is in great shape with no cracks or evidence of past repairs. The barr el looks like it may have had one or two interior cracks(that did not go all the way through the bore) glued as a pree mp tive measure. I'm not certain on this as I don't see any sign of a crack. But I do see what appears to be some glue residue on the interior o f the barrel. A t a ny rate. It seems

Fine Pair of Antique Sheffield Silverplate Covered Dish Entree / Buffet Servers
This is a pair of fine Antique Covered Entree Servers with Hot Water Compartments believed to be Sheffield. England, late 19th century. These pieces are deeply ornamented with hand chased floral and leaf designs in patterns nearly identical to other Old Sheffield pieces. These pieces are unmarked, however, the base metal is heavy copper and the process of"layering" silver appears to be present when viewed under magnification as consistent with genuine Sheffield. Each server is comprised of 4 pieces: a hot water compartment on legs. The inner dish, a lid, and a detachable lid handle. The inner dish can be used separately without the hot water compartment and has its own bottom support. The detachable lid handle allows the lid to sit upside down to be used as an additional serving dish. Each piece measures approximately 11 1/2 inches ... moreby 10 inches by 6 inches tall. These are in very good antique condition with no dents, some light scratches to outer surface, and some worn spots to the plating, most noticeable is on one of the lids as shown in photo#12. There are a few deeper scratches in one of the inner dishes from use. There is no maker's mark. Please examine the photographs to see the quality and condition of these pieces. OBTAINED FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN PITTSBURGH PA. BEING SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE. This is an amazing antique with an equally interesting history. This is a very early 20th century, aprox. 1913/1915) EVETTE& SCHAEFFER, BUFFET CRAMPON, Tenor, Gold Plated Saxophone" This wonderful antique has been in one family since it was originally purchased. The Grandfather of the family, Nicholas Anthony Testa Sr. was a conductor and band member, serving as a corporal in the US. 28th division in WW1, stationed in France. He carried this and another saxophone with him to entertain the troops with his companies Army band. While at war. He continued his band throughout the early 1940's era upon return from WW1. His heirs discovered this instrument carefully stored in the old homestead had it professionally restored. I purchased a soprano saxophone ... morefrom the family and was so impressed with its quality that I made an offer and purchased this tenor saxophone as well. I took it to a saxophone repair specialist. Dennis Lawson, who was completely taken by the instrument. He spent over three hours setting it up with new springs, setting the steel resonator pads, adding bushings where needed and playing it. He told me that in his 48 years of instrument restoration he had never seen anything like it. He was so impressed by the instrument that only charged me for the parts and 20 minutes of the three hours labor he put into the sax. He told me that he believed the saxophone was made in 1913-15, that it plays beautifully, and that it has mechanical features not thought to have been invented until much later. He told me that it has a bright, mellow tone that is only available in a hand made instrument such as this. He believes that the hole frames were silver soldered in place and told me that he lamped it and found no leaks.
