Draw sides and back are all oak and not an inferior wood. The interior is all oak. The doors lock but I have lost the key! Currently all the doors are unlocked! Inside at the back somebody cut a hole out. Not sure why that was done but it is there! The only newish part is an interior shelf which is in the main body. I believe it is still solid oak but it lacks the patina of the original. The glass is not damaged anywhere. The marble has exquisite shading and color. With pink, grey and purple variations. It has light scratches on the top and minor tiny chips on the edge as expected for a piece this age. It is not broken anywhere! The carvings are so wonderful with urns. Horns, ribbons, roses, tassels, swags and leaves. Both front panels have cracks on the decoration as seen in the photographs. Very reluctantly for sale! This is a lovely vintage Buffet Wood Clarinet- It is a Evette& Schaeffer Model. The serial number is K19228 which I believe makes it manufactured between 1966-1969. It was purchased a few years ago for over $500. and my daughter used it in Senior High Band and loved it. The bell does have a crack repair as seen in picture. This is a beautiful sideboard buffet and cabinet. It has beautiful carving everywhere! There are 2 upper drawers and 1 long lower drawer which are dovetailed. There are some nicks and scratches on this vintage piece. but nothing major. The beveled glass mirror is a replacement and there are other fairly current repairs to the cabinet doors hinges. The over all buffet measures 81" tall. The top section is 5' wide. 43.5" tall, 14.5" deep. It encompasses a beveled mirror and has a plate shelf on top. The metal bracket aroung the mouth piece reads Buffet Crampon France. The mouthpiece itself reads Buffet Crampon Paris and has A2B 17 5 106 stamped in it. The mouthpiece cover reads Buffet Crampon Cie A Paris. Some of the cork needs to be replaced. There is a crack in one of the pieces as seen in the pictures. There are some scratches on the mouthpiece where the bracket has been taken off and on. The serial number is 81704 and from what I see online, that dates it to 1964-1966. Antique Oak Sideboard Buffet with Beveled Glass & Mirror Gallery
This well-loved and well-tended piece has been with us for decades; we are offering as part of downsizing for retirement. It is a visually stunning and intricate piece. But has seen use and wear which is apparent to the critical eye(see pictures for the most major flaws) This is a hand-carved two-part sideboard(gallery and base) Circa 1870. A lion-motif pediment was added to the top of the mirrored gallery. Barley-twist column supports flank a 3-section vitrine of beveled mirror and glass. The mirror and glass is original and in excellent condition. Underneath the gallery is an open area with double-turned column supports. The gallery is set upon a single base of carved oak possessing 3 rectangular drawers(the centermost is partitioned inside for holding silverware) and 3 paneled cabinet doors. Plus one long rectangular drawer along the base. ... moreThe drawers flanked by barley rope twist columns; the drawers themselves possess decorative carvings and possess their original brass bail handles with embossed heads in relief. All drawers and cabinets can be open/shut easily(pictures available upon request) Parts of the original brass fixtures have been lost from the cabinet doors and the joins between the gallery column supports and the base of the gallery have lost their original façade decoration and cracked slightly open. Maintaining the original finish requires applying lemon oil 1-2 times a year. Drawers slide smoothly provided the runners are rubbed 1-2 times a year with a bar of hard soap. c1895 Large Victorian Tiger Oak Sideboard Buffet North Wind Rope Twist Paw Feet
Being offered for sale is this very Large Victorian Tiger Oak Sideboard/ Buffet with Carved North Wind Faces. Brass North Wind Pulls and Carved Paw Feet circa 1895. This outstanding 19th century sideboard features an abundance of detailed carvings from top to bottom and has three working keys, the original beveled mirrors and the original ornate brass hardware. This sideboard measures a total height from the floor to the top of the carved pediment at the back of 80 inches. With a height to the base at the front of 37 3/4 inches, total width of 59 1/2 inches and depth at the base portion of 24 inches and this massive sideboard weighs approximately 250 lbs and does disassemble into 2 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf measures 59 inches wide by 13 inches deep and is 21 1/2 inches in height from the ... moretop of the base. This tiger oak sideboard is very solid and tight and has a gorgeous presence. The three keys work the locks on the drawers(one key for each drawer) but neither of the keys work the locks on the cabinet doors. The top right drawer does have divided compartments for flatware with newer green felt lining. We believe the large beveled mirrors to be original or at least antique replacements and there is some light spotting and some mild silver loss as common in old mirrors. The top mirror does show a small fracture in the bottom right corner that appears to have been there for sometime and not a major issue in my opinion but there. I have a close up picture of this area. The very front right corner of the sideboard base shows some wear and scuffing please see picture and as common in antiques the top of the sideboard does show some age and usage marks one expects to see on pieces over 100 years old.This outstanding sideboard/ buffet offers a tremendous amount of storage space and is definitely a statement piece to add to your dining area. French European Sideboard Buffet Louis Era Hand Carved Walnut Marble w/ Keys
Very unique. Gorgeous walnut& oak sideboard/buffet. We believe it is from France or somewhere else in Europe, perhaps the Louis Era. It comes apart in 6 different sections! There are a lot of different carvings going on in this piece. The center door on the top has what appears to have a hand carved scene of a man& woman on a horse with a castle in the background. The other two doors on the top have a corucopia design on them. There are also masculine faces that decorate the upper section. The very top also has cornucopias. The center section has a mercury, beveled mirror that reflects on a rose marble top. The upper section appears to be held up by 2 jester looking men that have their legs crossed in different directions. The bottom section is accented by masculine faces around the edge and on the bottom cabinet doors. Besides these ... morekey points, there are many other details that adorne this piece. It measures 7' 9 1/2" tall and 59" wide and just under 21" deep! It also has the original keys for the locks. A very unusual find! The center bottom door has 2 cracks. All intact and excellent condition. This piece could go anywhere. Antique decor as well as contemporary due to its fine artistic style and adournments. Age is not definite, but from what I know and who I know, we believe it was made sometime between the very late 1800s to the very early 1900s, up to 1920. Our gut feeling(see dovetails in picture) is turn of the century.1900. THIS CAN BE PICKED UP ALSO.BUT MUST BE PAID FOR. The server I believe is from Europe due to the estate I purchased it from and its woods and marble are extraordinary. The server measures 55 1/4" wide. 21" deep, and 62" high to the top of the mirror. Speaking of the bevelled heavy mirror, which is in excellent condition, the frame has a marvelous bronze decoration in the middle that looks similiar to a cartouche; where one would expect family initials. All the wonderful bronze ormalu decorations are intact and magnificent. The Italian marble is very outstanding as well and in excellent condition. There were two(because I felt them) fleabite and I mean tiny.nicks on the edge. They are not noticable to the eye. Other than that the marble top and two flanked panels of marble are all intact, NO cracks or stain, etc.they are very nice. The three doors all have original locks. The doors are elaboratly carved. Each end having a basket of flowers and the middle looks like a shell of some kind. They were very tastefully executed. Shipping for this piece varies due to distance. Ship fees in Suffolk. Rare black lacquer buffet/server by Willett Furniture of Louisville. This piece dates to the early 1940's. As can be seen in the Art Deco style. Three large drawers in center and enclosed shelving on each end. The shelves are adjustable. The hardware appears to be silver on copper and does show wear. It measures 19" x 60" and is 33 1/2" tall.
