Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. We are offering a wonderful oak barrister bookcase by Lundstrom. It has four sections with a drawer at the bottom. The entire piece is made of quarter sawn oak and the doors still retain the original wavy glass. The knob on the bottom door is slightly different than the other three. There is some lifting of veneer on the very top of the bookcase. This is not obvious because there is trip all around it. Overall this piece is in very good condition and looks beautiful. It has aged to a nice. Rich color. There is a label in the top section. The entire piece measures 34 1/2" wide and is 57 1/4" high. This is a nice 4 stack antique barrister bookcase marked Globe Wernicke. This piece came out of the Dept.of State in Washington. DC and still has the old stickers. All the glass fronts are intact with no damage. Door slides work fine; one was recently replaced. All sections have the original finish with slight color variations and non matching old brass knobs. There is no significant damage only some minor stains and scratches obtained over the years. In total you are purchasing 6 pieces: 4 cabinets. A top, and a legged base. Each separate cabinet is approximately 33” wide x 13”deep x 14 3/4” tall. Total height of the case is approximately 72” Please see all photos. It comes from smoke free environment. Vintage Globe Wernicke Solid Walnut Barrister Bookcase
This three tiered Walnut Barristers Bookcase was originally manufactured by Globe Wernicke. It comes in five stackable sections. Three shelf units, a base and a topper, all made from sold walnut. The unit is a finely made piece of furniture as displayed in the photographs showing the side panel joinery. It has knobs that do not match that can be easily replaced with more desirable hardware. The cantilever glass doors are in excellent working condition and operate smoothly. The unit has a beautiful aged patina. It measures 33 inches wide x 13 inches deep x 64.75 inches high. The two lower shelves are 14.75 inches high and the top shelf is 17 inches high. It weighs approximately 80 lbs.

The entire cabinet is made of Mahogany. It has all the original glass and hardware. The only exceptional is the pull knob on one of the add on cabinets. For auction is one vintage 2-tier Steelcase lawyers bookcase. It features two identical sections with retractable glass doors and the top cap with the Steelcase logo. But does not have a base. A base would need to be made for it, but even a simple, rectangular wood base(painted or stained) would do. It would also be ideal for adding sections to an existing stack. It is painted a silvery gray color and has light marks and scratches common to age and use. 1900's Quarter sawn oak barrister/stacking bookcase drawer front only. It is approx 32 1/2" x 4 5/8" I only have 1 knob/button and the other is missing. The finish could use some sprucing but is original. There is a small piece that is broken off on the back where the drawer bottom would fit but I have the piece to re-glue it. ANTIQUE MACEY NO. 25 BARRISTER BOOKCASE & OAK DESK - GLOBE WERNICKE TYPE STACKER
I have a rather hard to find Macey Bookcase with drop front desk. Desk is in need of restoration. Lid is cuped and will not close easily, someone drilled a small hole below the lock, I assume it was to aid in opening the lid. Interior with all the shelves is in good order, one of the lid arms is missing, veneer is missing on the bottom part of the lid. Desk top is made to have additional bookcases stacked on top. Unit measures 44 inches tall by 34 1/4 inches wide by 16 3/4 inches at its deepest point. Bookcase area is 12 inches deep by 13 inches tall and about 32 wide inside measurement. Door is probably not the right one but I think it could be made to work, It is wide enough but looks like it is about 3/4 inches too short, if you added a small piece across the top it would probably work. Not sure how the slides work. Has nice pillars on ... morethe front, all in all its a pretty neat old piece and deserves to be brought back, hope someone out there can do it. Early 1900's stacking oak barristers bookcase. Rare Arts and Craft grade 798 1/2 Early English Oak finish. This bookcase has a lovely mission arts and craft look. Each section is labeled with the stickers that read this finish. The bookcase is 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep and about 66 inches tall. The quartersawn oak on the bookcase is beautiful and the finish is all original. 7 seperate pieces that stack on each other. Waterfall top and base. The base has a desireable drawer on it. All sections including the drawer have original brass knobs. Each section has its original old antique wavy glass and the doors open nicely. Practical and attractive vintage modular barrister bookcase made by Globe Wernicke of Cincinnati. OH. Aged dark oak has a wonderful aged patina and, along with the glass front doors, will frame your items beautifully. Brass brackets support the sides and a molded top and bottom unit give this piece cohesion and structure. Each of the six sections in this flexible shelving can be separated and rearranged as necessary. Each shelf has one of three paper Globe Wernicke tags at the back. See pictures for examples of each. Unsure of exact age, but this piece most likely dates from the first half of the 1900's. Overall. This bookcase is in good condition, however it does have some signs of minor water damage and oxidation to the metal parts. Four of the six knobs for opening the glass shelf fronts are also missing. Rare, Antique Shaw Walker Barrister Bookcase, glass front, 3 piece Pick up NJ
Rare. Highly collectible Antique Barrister bookcase from the reputable Shaw Walker company. Stackable 3 piece, glass fronts. I am not sure of the type of wood, either cherry or mahogany- this piece is from the early 1900's- it has been well preserved and taken care of. The front and sides have been painted with a black Ethan Allen paint to match the other furniture we have- the inside of each unit and the back has not been painted. The measurements are about 49 1/2 inches tall(stacked with the 3 pieces) 34 inches width, and the depth is 11 1/2 inches. The top has a small scratch in the paint that measures a few inches, but the wood is not scratched as far as I can see. You can either touch up this paint scratch or remove the paint all together and restore to the orginal wood. Local pick up in New Jersey(zip code 07030)

We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique barrister bookcase. This is made by the Globe Wernicke Company. There is a sticker on the back wall of two of the sections. that reads D10 1/4 299. The top section meausres 13" high to the glass door opening. The next two sections measure 10.5" to the top of the glass door opening and the bottom section measures 10.2" to the top with the glass door open. The assembled piece measures 61.25" high and has a width of 34" and an overall depth of 12" The depth of the main body is 11" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak and oak veneers. This has the original brass hardware. There are some light age and use appropriate scratches and dings. There are paint specks on this. A gouge in the wood on one side and there is an area onthe ... moretop that the veneer is coming loose. There is a piece of sticky tape from a hook on the right side at the top of this. We will leave this fo rhte new owner to remove as we do not know if it will damage the finish or not. This can be seen slightly in the picture of the side view. This is an ornate. Oak top(10-B) for a Macey barrister bookcase. It has a decorative, beaded strip across the front. The piece was made in the very early 1900's.Pieces produced before 1908 carry the name"Fred Macey Furniture CO" or simply"Macey" in italicscript with the tail of the"Y" underlining the word. At some point the piece has been painted beige but the wood under the paint appears to be in good shape. With a little work and a lot of love this would be a very defining top for a Macey sectional bookcase.

The bottom is a stepback unit and has an unusually big section which is labeled E. This refers to the size and is desireable at 13 1/2 inches deep and very tall. Can accomodate large law books. Photo albums and collectibles. There is slight wear to the top cap piece which is in one of the photos. Someone may have left a plant on top and the ring from water appeared. No damage to wood here just finish. It cannot be seen when the bookcase is together. The neat thing about this bookcase is that all labels are different. Look closely at the pictures. The bottom bookcase is manufactured by"MACEY" Grand Rapids Michigan. See picture. The top two cases are paper labels and both have GLOBE WERNICKE scissor door mechanisms. The third from top shows patent dates. See picture. This was called the"Wernicke System"Elastic" Bookcase.
