Globe Wernicke Quartersawn Oak Mission Stacking Barrister Bookcase Section
Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping. MISSION OAK GLOBE WERNIECKE BARRISTER BOOKCASE WITH DRAWER BASE AND EXTRA LARGE UNITS With our compliments we are pleased to offer you this wonderful extra large three section Mission Oak Barrister Bookcase by Globe Werniecke. It has a Model 148 drawer base. Three sections that are a model D-12 1/2" base and two Model D10 1/4" section with a signed Globe Werniecke top all in a 299 grade finish. This Barrister has all its scissors and original parts. It is done entirely in tiger oak with all original old wavy glass dorrs. It is 34" long, 11 1/2" wide and 52" tall. Metal Stacking Barrister Bookcase Bergen County Rockland County FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY Here we have a nice 3 stack barrister bookcase in original grey paint made by Globe Wernicke for the U.S. Army or Federal Government dated 1963. The bookcase is in fairly good condition although the top section is missing its glass. Without the glass the door frame has some flex to it. But will be solid once the glass is replaced. It measures 51-1/4” high. 33” wide and 13-1/4” deep. The inside sections measure 10” high. 12-1/8” deep and 31” wide. The bottom section is a little taller than the other two and measures 12-1/4” high inside. There is a Weksler Instrument Relative Humidity Chart tapped to the door(see picture) This item is for pick up only. Original Oak Arts& Crafts/ Mission Barrister Stacking Lawyer Bookcase Top by Macey(like Globe. Ogee, etc. This is an original Macey bookcase top. This is from the quartersawn oak models(many of them had claw-footed bases and vertical veneer drawers) Very hard to find item. As you can see in photos. The label has worn off some, but you can still make out the Macey name. I am not sure what letter size this is, but the dimensions seem to correspond with size D. Overall measures approx: 34" long x 15" deep x 3 2/16" high Underside frame that fits onto the case measures approx: 34" long x 14" deep As shown in photos. This is in used condition and shows wear. The front profile looks very good for its age and should blend very well with well kept bookcases. The top veneer shows more wear than the front with discoloration, ... morenicks and scratches and some splits, but if this is an issue, you could rejuvenate it with stain and oil/ shellac/ polyurethane. If you want a uniform look, you could lightly sand the entire surface and then add stain, plus sealant. However, because this is the top of a bookshelf you will likely rest items on it to cover imperfections, or it will be so high up that no one will see it. The rest of the top looks to be in normal used condition for its age. Some nails have pushed out and may need to be gently hammered back in place(though I think I got all of them) Please examine close ups of all photos and ask all questions. Questions? Remember. This is a rare double wide colonial barrister that comes apart for a total of 6 seperate pieces. The wood is Mahogany and is grade 598 1/2 the finest they made. The doors open and slide into the bookcase to protect the bookcases. This bookcase came from the library at Marymount college after it was closed. Famous Maker 3 SECTIONS SOLID OAK Offered is a nice Mission Oak bookcase with lift-up and slide-in glass doors which are all in working condition. Each section is marked with the Macey trade mark. It is solid and sturdy. It stands evenly on the floor. The windows have antique wavy glass and there are NO breaks. The sections are graduated in size(9" 11" 13" this is a nice feature for storing different size books. Sections are interchangeable allowing for larger books on top or on the bottom. The buyer can take this bookcase home& use it. I can't say how long we have had these bookcases but can say they are a quality set and will have a major effect on a room when it comes to decorating. They can't help but get a lot of attention. Guaranteed antique- not a reproduction. ... moreThis will retain value- the bookcases are about 100 years old, perhaps more. The bookcase has a removable top lid or crown, 3 stackable sections with glass doors, and a base. The first pictures were taken in natural room light and show the bookcase in as close to original color as possible, if the photos seem a little blurry it's because we used the night setting on the camera. The brighter photos were taken with a flash. The bookcase is all original& retains all original parts, glass, knobs, sections. The condition is above average to better. It does need a polishing but that is minor. There are minor surface rub marks& use marks. There are no structural problems, the top lid's surface is solid wood& not the usual veneer, the wood is quartered oak(what ever that is) and shows a lot of grain through-out the cabinet& doors. There are no repairs. Buyers are welcome to see the bookcase before purchase, we are 75 miles north of NYC& located between Albany-Binghamtom-NYC.
