Two antique matching vases-very ornate-SWS & Co-Sterling
Selling these as part of an estate that we are handling. Check our other auctions for more silver that we will be selling over the next 4 to 6 weeks. These items all come from the estate of a man who had a large collection of very fine sterling. Some of it dating back into the 1800's. This auction is for a nice pair of very ornate. Antique sterling silver vases. They measure approx 5 3/8" tall, and 2 1/4" wide at the top. They have felt on the bottoms which I did not want to remove, but I assume that they are weighted. Weight is very different from one to the other, with one weighing approximately 187 grams, and the other approx. 132 grams. Obviously, one has a lot more fill in the base than the other. Group Six Antique or Vintage Wood Clock Finials, Two pairs and Two Assorted

I am uncertain of the wood but think it is oak. Not sure of the age, and assume they were used for clocks. There is a pair of nice shaped two tier finials with balls at the top and wood pegs, they measure 3" tall. Next is a fountain shaped finial with a pointed top, no wood peg, measures 3 1/4" tall. Next is a squatty piece with a ball top that measures 2 1/8" tall. And, last are two tone finials.the top looks to be oak and the bottom portion is a lighter wood, maybe a birch. They have wood pegs, nice design almost reminds me of an acorn, they measures about 2 1/4" tall without the peg, the base is 1" diameter, the peg is 3/8" ... morelong. In good condition, no chips or cracks but each of the oval pieces on the top have a small flat area on one side probably from being up against something for a long time. This is a set of antique coin silver teaspoons with an"RC" monogram. The backs are stamped E Newbury& Co Pure Coin. They were made by Edwin Comfort Newbury of Brooklyn. CT. Newbury was born in 1799 in Mansfield Center, CT. He was an optician and made eyeglasses and was a silversmith. He was active from 1828 until 1860. He died in 1882 at the age of 83. These old spoons are made of thin coin silver and the total weight of all six spoons is approximately 2.310 ounces. They have a lot of dings but there are no holes. Up for auction is a n antique coin silver salt spoon by Lewis R. Broomall. Lewis Broomall was a Philadelphia. PA silversmith and watchmaker C.1846-1861. He was appointed by Abraham Lincoln as the Chief Coiner of U.S. M int in 1861 to 1863. The spoon is 3 3/4" long and the bowl is just over 1" wide. It is in very good condition with a nice monogram. Lovely pure coin silver spoon made by the Alvah Skinner Company of Boston. Massachusetts. The handle's front features a monogram of the initial"P" along with a strawberry and a leaf. The handle's reverse bears the same imagery as the front along with a patent mark, a mark denoting silver content, and a maker's mark that appears to be the one that the company used between 1830 and 1846. The spoon shows some minor wear(mostly some tiny dents in the bowl that a good silversmith could easily remedy) but is otherwise in amazing condition for its age. The relief is so detailed on this piece. And the mother of pearl inlay around the edges just sparkles and shimmers like crazy. The plate is stamped Mexico and Alpaca on the rear.
