There are 8 pieces in all: 1 jar with cover; 1 heavy jar with cover that does not fit correctly; 1 brush; 1 round hand mirror(5 1/2" in diameter with marks on the mirror itself) two vanity jar covers(1 oval and 1 round) All are monogrammed with a D. They have 3 makers marks but the only one I can make out is an anchor and they are marked sterling. One cover is marked with a flag and sterling 2191 and one is marked sterling 721. But this bottle does not appear to be part of the set of the other three pieces. There is residue of the original contents(I have no idea what these bottles held.cologne, perfume, bath oils? The tallest bottle measures approx. 8 1/2" tall with a diameter of 3 5/8" The shortest is a lidded jar which measures approx. 3 3/4" tall with a 2 3/4" diameter. The others are in between. The seat is made of wood and covered with a soft. Plush velvety material. It measure 35 1/2" tall. The seat is 15 1/2" at the widest point. It is 15 1/2" deep. Overall the chair is in very sturdy condition. There are some breaks in the scrolling wrought iron backing(please inspect pictures) There are no breaks in the wrought iron on or around the legs. No breaks in the wood seat. No tears or stains on the material. There are some chips in the black paint here and there. Antique Sterling Hand Mirror Gorgeous engraving work. With no monogram Marked Sterling with the maker's initials. I am unable to identify these marks. And would appreciate hearing from anyone who may know. The mirror is usable as is. But could use a new glass piece since there is something going on with the current piece glass, although I have used it like this for many years. Measures approximately 13" long and 5" wide(measured at the widest part) This does have some condition issues. But I think that all of them may easily be repaired if you wish. ANTIQUE GEORGIAN VANITY BAND SAMPLER - PRIMITIVE HOUSE - JANE PHILLIPS - POLLOCK
A naive Georgian band sampler embroidered with a wonderful primitive house and other motifs by Jane Phillips. She has also removed part of the date. Making this a"vanity sampler" where the owner wishes to hide their true age. From the stitches that remain I would say the date is either 1818 or 1828. There is some wear to the stitches at the top of the sampler, but we can see that Jane has added the names of her mother and father, Mary Pollock and William Phillips, along with the initials of other family members. It is in fairly good condition with some wear to the father's name, possibly deliberate as the rest of the stitching is mostly complete. It is backed with paper and measures 18.75 by 8 inches(48 by 20.5 cm. The photos can be enlarged for more detail. I guarantee that this is a genuine antique sampler. MARVELOUS ORIGINAL VICTORIAN VANITY WITH WHITE CARRERA ITALIAN MARBLE! This stunning Eastlake Vanity has an astonishing story to tell and has gracefully made it from 1870 to the 20th century in one piece! Works of art like this are VERY few and far between. Very close to the beginning of the Eastlake collections. And VERY similar to Jacobean Revival pieces. Made of Cherry wood. This vanity has an extremely ornate applied lunette cornice with BOLD torus molding that has a stylized carved swag center. Burlwood veneers on raised panel cortuche surround a frieze around the top. The entire piece features artfully accented mottled burl wood veneers on raised cortuche with intriquite applied ornament work. The focal point of the entire vanity is the LARGE exquisite fixed Pier glass cusp arch mirror. On each side of the mirror are matching Cornices ... morefor holding lights of any kind. Whether candles or electric. Originally design so they are high, up and out the of way for more surface space! Also featured are removable White Italian Carrara Marble tops. Two on Etajere graduated shelves and one large piece on the Princess drop shelf. There are two small glove/collar drawers and two large clothing drawers. All four are fully fuctional, and made with the original Dovetail joined construction so they will last forever! Each drawer has Brass and Wood pear shaped handles and the large ones have working/functional flat keyhole rosettes with the original key. And to frame the drawers is a raised molding. Ebony and sterling silver hat/hair pin holder. Hallmarked London 1920 maker H F Daltrey& Company. Stunning engravings, not at all rubbed, vacant cartouche, all fixing pins present. Measures 3.5 inches tall, 2.25 inches in diameter at widest, stamped'EBONY' to the base.
