The Izadora Exhibition is offering a wonderful rose adorned collection of Antique Floral limoges pieces from Pouyat(JPL/JP) Ahrenfeld, Haviland& Straus that date before WWI or before 1910. This listing is for a(1) vanity/serving tray described below: Pouyat rose- gold gilt tray- pat Jan 23. 1906 JP/L with green/pink wreath and numbered(can't make out number clearly) The porcelain and gold gilt on the tray is mint. The bottom is unfinished as you see on earlier pieces with signs of use that are natural with an item over 100 years old. There is one tiny spot on the rim that has no gold- this could be a tiny flake or just a tiny area where there is no gold. When I collected these pieces I purchased the tray separately and married to the teapot set. They are beautiful together or you can use this piece separately on a vanity or sideboard. ... moreMeasures 12" x 9.25" at the widest point. Just acquired out of an estate this week. We are able to offer this original, early 1900's era ~ ART NOUVEAU FIGURAL MAIDEN CAST WROUGHT IRON BENCH ~. It has a wonderful look, and the three dimensional figural design is on all four sides of the legs. It has a beautiful young woman with long flowing hair with an elegant open air pierced design. I would imagine that the gold velvet seat was recovered in the 1960's era and it does show some expected wear. The cast iron is in nice condition with no breaks or repairs. There is some expected wear to the paint, but should be a fairly easy repaint if desired. The bench measures 25 inches wide by 19 inches tall by 13 inches deep. We rarely see original Art Nouveau era benches, so I would imagine that they are not all that easy to find. I am going to take this part for safer shipping. Victorian Antique Organ Piano Bench or Vanity Stool Marsden English
This beautiful organ or piano bench was made in England. Most likely in the late 1800s, possibly very early 1900s. It is made of solid wood, which I believe to be mahogany. It has a beautiful rich medium tone, reddish brown in color. The wood has a beautiful grain which I have tried to capture in the photographs. Underneath the seat is a cast iron mechanism that allows the seat to be raised or lowered using the knobs on the side. The mechanism was made and patented by the Marsden company and is in perfect working order. The wood on the underside of the stool and part of the mechanism is stamped"Marsden's Patent LEEDS 542. See photos) The bench features splayed legs. With lovely turned designs. It is well made and very sturdy, suitable for daily use as a piano bench or vanity seat. The cushioned seat has been replaced and recovered ... morein a gold and beige fabric, but could easily be switched out to match your decor. It is in good condition, no stains. The bench weighs approximately 14 pounds. And measures 19 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 14 inches deep. When raised to its maximum height it is 22 inches tall. CONDITION: This is an antique piece. And as such it does have signs of wear. There are small nicks and dents that do not affect the structural integrity of the piece(please see photos for examples. I feel these marks, which are visible only on close inspection, serve to further illustrate the true antique nature of the bench. There are no major damaged areas and no missing pieces. Here we have an old antique art deco period machine cut silver vanity mirror. It measures about 27.5cm( 10.75" with machine cut decorated back and blank cartouche, it is hall marked with maker W. G. S. Antique Jugendstil / art nouveau silver hand/vanity mirror with monogram "M"
Very decorative old hand mirror with organic floral Jugendstil/ art nouveau design on both sides. The silvering on the mirror is disappearing around the edges of the mirror but the glass is intact and original. Quite heavy. But I did not find any silver or hallmarks, so I assume the material is perhaps silvered pewter(Zinn) A couple of minor scuff marks and one tiny ding in the edges of the frame, it is in remarkably good condition. The monogram"M" is in the middle of the backside of the mirror and it appears as those someone tried to clean this area based on some rub marks. The design is really beautiful and the fact that the design is on both sides of the handle and frame make this unique, I think. It weighs 13 ounces and measures 10-1/2" long and 6" wide. Tri-Fold 19th C Antique French Mirror Travel Vanity Beveled Celluloid Angels
This is a lovely piece. And very rare, not just for its age or quality. You may not have noticed at first, but the center mirror is twice as wide as the side mirrors. This is an unusual feature in a tri-fold antique mirror, and allows both decorative backs to show at once when it is closed. Usually all 3 mirrors are the same width and one door folds on top of the other instead of folding flat like this one. SIZE ~ Each mirror is 8" high with the side mirrors 6" across and the center mirror 12" across. The entire piece stands 11" tall to the top of the finial. CONDITION ~ The decorative part is made of celluloid. An early precursor of plastic. It is impressed with sweet angels or cherubs, surrounded by blossoms. It is ivory in color and in fact may have been meant to mimic the look of ivory. Sadly one cherub has a little ... morechip in his head that shows as a dark spot. When you use the mirror, the doors do not show, so it's not a huge deal and is priced accordingly. The spot could be filled with a little molded clay and painted(if you wanted to try to make it less noticeable. NO breaks or chips in any of the three mirrors, nothing missing, could use a good cleaning. I believe the metal is brass. There is a chain for hanging. Or this mirror can stand on four delicate feet. Antique NOUVEAU Vanity Set-Black Wood Silver Mirror Comb Horseshoe File-C. 1901
Up for auction is a beautiful. Antique, 5-pc vanity set. It includes a hand mirror, comb, horseshoe, nail file, and cuticle trimmer. The handles are made out of wood that are painted black. It's decorated with a silver, Art Nouveau pattern. The hand mirror has a woman's face and the comb is lined with a silver, floral pattern. I don't know if the silver is sterling or plate. It's not marked. The horseshoe is stamped Pat'd Oct. 29, 1901. The only issue is some rust on one side of the nail file and a little bit of paint wear on the handle of the mirror. Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Vanity Hand Mirror Lady and Poppy Flowers
Large art nouveau sterling hand mirror from the early 1900’s. This remarkable piece reflects a woman with long flowing tresses twining through poppies. It has high relief and gorgeous detail. It is marked sterling 925 Pat Aug 12. 02 and measures 10-1/4 inches long. It has a beveled mirror that is in very good vintage condition– only a few light scratches or scuffs that are visible when light reflects at an angle. Some of the outer edges of the sterling frame have some very minor dents- dents that are not obvious unless viewed from the side. Also. The mirror is loose and would benefit from being re-cemented into the frame. The reason we didn’t consider doing this is: now would be the time to smooth the dents from the edge of the frame if the new owner is inclined to do so– since the dents are easily accessible when the mirror is out. This is an extra large antique bowl& pitcher set purchased by my grandmother at an antique shop 40 years ago. This seems to be a French Provincial style with ornate roses in a beautiful rose pink with gold rimming on bowl. Pitcher& handle& vanity piece. It is gold rimmed and I believed it is porcelain. It has two vanity pieces. Which are not in perfect condition as you can see by the pictures. This is an antique piece and does show it's age. There are no cracks in the bowl or pitcher but there are paint flaws and the gold is wearing off in spots. It has a maker mark but. I don't know this maker. Please see pic. Heavy(weighs 12 oz) glass dresser jar with sterling lid measures 3-3/4" wide and 2-3/8" high. Has light decoration on the top of the lid with a small cartouche, within which is a stacked monogram of an"H" and below that an"O" In excellent condition with no scratches. Rub marks, dings, splits or dents in the lid, and no chips in the glass. Lid fits rather loosely. This is an old vintage probably from the teens era white alabaster stone table piveting mirror on stand. The beautiful stand is 12 1/2" by 7 1/2" by 4 1/2" It has an oval mirror that you can pivet to your liking. It has beautiful gold and the feet are decorative dolphin classical heads. It lifts up off of its cradle which is fine. But at one time the two were glued together. The mirror on the back has a white paint drip from sloppy room painter. The piece is in very good condition. The rim of the glass liner has been ground and polished flush to form a seal against the cork lining of the lid as it is screwed shut. Unusual Antique English Sterling Silver Vanity Jar With Cranberry Glass Liner
A wonderful late Victorian dressing table jar. It is unusual to find them with clear glass liners, but to find one with a Cranberry glass liner is even more unusual. The sterling silver caddy which holds the glass is pierced or reticulated and allows peaks of the wonderful rich colour to show through, especially when placed strategically allowing light to shine from the back. The lid fits well and is beautifully decorated with repousse or embossed work around a central vacant cartouche. The silver(top and bottom) have full hallmarks for Birmingham 1900 with the makers initials for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews. Antique English Victorian Mahogany Vanity Bench Piano Organ Stool Window Seat
This beautiful piano bench was made in England. Most likely in the late 1800s, possibly very early 1900s. It is made of solid wood, which I believe to be mahogany. It has a beautiful rich medium tone, reddish brown in color. The wood has a beautiful grain which I have tried to capture in the photographs. Underneath the seat is a cast iron mechanism that allows the seat to be raised or lowered using the knobs on the side. The mechanism was made and patented by the Marsden company and is in perfect working order. The wood on the underside of the stool and part of the mechanism is stamped"Marsden's Patent LEEDS 542. See photos) The bench features splayed legs. With lovely turned designs. It is well made and very sturdy, suitable for daily use as a piano bench or vanity seat. The cushioned seat has been replaced and recovered in a gold ... moreand beige fabric, but could easily be switched out to match your decor. It is in good condition, no stains. The bench weighs approximately 14 pounds. And measures 19 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 14 inches deep. When raised to its maximum height it is 22 inches tall. CONDITION: This is an antique piece. And as such it does have signs of wear. There are small nicks and dents that do not affect the structural integrity of the piece(please see photos for examples. I feel these marks, which are visible only on close inspection, serve to further illustrate the true antique nature of the bench. There are no major damaged areas and no missing pieces.
