It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. Charming Antique Doll Trunk/Chest w/ unique interior paper
You are bidding on a very old. Charming doll's trunk/ chest. This trunk has been in our family for many, many years. I can remember as young girl, this trunk in my great grandmother's house with dolls' sitting inside it. The interior paper that it is lined with is adorable. I have taken an"up close' picture so you can truly appreciate the darling depictions. The trunk contains a removable shelf that is in very good shape. I have shown photos of the shelf both in the trunk and removed. The trunk itself is in normal. Aging condition- indicative of a piece this old. It is from the 1890's-1910's era. The flat top of the trunk has been"depressed" a bit on the top. it is not totally flat anymore, due to age- a bit concave as I tried to show in the photos. This is a really cool vintage trunk made by Texas Trunks out of San Antonio Texas. There is a sticker on the back that seems to put it on united van lines in 1925! To be honest this thing is in very nice shape for something around 90 years old. All straps and buckles are intact and in great shape. The key is missing. There are some scuffs and rubs from the one or two times it looks like it was used for legitimate travel. and on the back panel the laminate is kinda separated from the plywood. You can not see this in the photo.you can only feel it when you run your hand across the back.VERY MINOR. But the pins are missing and one of the pivots is stiff. So, the top comes completely off. There is some sort of texture. Or film, around the lettering on the front of the box. This box has a lot of wear that includes surface scratches. Dings, surface residue and in need of a very good cleaning as I've made no attempt to do so. Nice Old Antique Trunk. I am not sure of the exact age. But the lock on it is from Eagle Lock Co. Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age of the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. This is an antique ca.1820 deer hide covered pine personal trunk. It is 15 3/4"x 9"x 6 3/4" high and weighs 6 lbs. It has the original brass handle and steel lock with a working key. The leather trim was in such bad condition that is was replaced. These small trunks were sometimes given as gifts. By their father to his children when they left home to attend college. This trunk is the perfect size for an antique doll, documents or any other antique item. The interior has been finished with a lovely rose and light gold floral print. Description: EXCEPTIONAL. Early 19th Century TIN DOCUMENT BOX, in Original condition. CHROMOLITHOGRAPHIC FLORAL DECORATION. Done in a classic TOLEWARE Style, is still 90% or better complete, better than I have ever found in this area. ALL ORIGINAL. The colors of Turquoise, Red, and Yellow, though now muted with age, are still relatively bright. Many of these old Tin boxes were faded over the years, or worn, so were then handpainted over the decoration. This one is ALL ORIGINAL, and has never been altered or painted over. Even the TRIM lines are still relatively complete. Again. There is WEAR and muting, but still very very discernible and bright, without being garish. Large-domed lid still has most of the golden TRIM around it. Even the golden DECORATION around the top handle is still nearly complete. SIZE: Approx 9 1/2" long. 8 3/4" ... morehigh. Not counting handle. 6 1/8" deep. CONDITION: Very very good. Best I have ever had. HOWEVER, the LATCH is MISSING. I can pick up by handle and it stays closed, when EMPTY. One small, 1" sep at back. The originally outside paper covering and interior paper have been removed to show the beauty of the pine wood. The wood was sanded and refinished with stain and multiple coats of sealer. The metal covering. Top and front, were sanded, primed and painted with lime green paint and then stain applied to give it an aged look. All hardware is original and in excellent shape. The hinges and lid stay are strong and work properly. All hardware was cleaned and sealed. The working lock comes with a key. The leather side handles are new. The bottom is clean. It has a new tray. Up for auction is a well-traveled and purpose-built antique leather trunk. This trunk chest features real brass hardware with working latch closure. Reinforced leather corners, interesting nail head detail and real flat copper rivets. It is a very sturdy, well-constructed trunk which also has four inner metal braces to make it more crush-resistant, along with a green twill cotton liner throughout. Please look at all the photos to get a sense for the used condition of this antique trunk chest. The trunk has two clasps at its front where a leather handle was likely affixed at one time. In addition. One of the leather seams across the back side has pulled away slightly as shown, but does not detract from the piece as it is on the backside. From my own collection a steamer trunk which we have used as a coffee table.It is good used condition but has marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.The handles are well worn and one is broken.It has been to South Africa and has various labels on it.It is on castors.There is no key and unfortunately I have locked it but I will try to find a key.Size is 20in x 18.5in x 32in. unusual antique grain painted mess kit insulated trunk w/ hot food kettles
SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is one of the most unusual antiques I've come across in years. It's some type of insulated mess kit or hot food trunk. Circa early 1900's in my estimation. I don't believe it's military because it would be army green or black. Possibly scouting or camping oriented. Item measures 36 3/4" long x 15 1/2" front to back x 16" tall. On metal castor wheels which I believe are original. The base is actually formed sheet metal with a faux quarter sawn oak grain painted finish. Which is absolutely fantastic and real looking. You could stair at it all day long and swear it's solid oak- until you touch it. The top band on the box where the hinges attach is the only real piece of oak. The top of the lid is brown painted sheet metal. Box in insulated allover and there are 3 kettle insert ... morechambers. Side chambers are 8 1/4" diameter and the middle one is 10" Each chamber has it's own insulated topper plug with bail handle. Each chamber also has a band metal cross member that lays flat on the bottom along with a heavy cast iron disc to sit on top. I believe the cast iron discs would be to help preserve the heat. Trunk is missing one of the small kettles. The other 2 are Wear-Ever brand with the original lids and in very good condition. Item is in very good original condition although not perfect. Tin metal bottom of the left side chamber is detached and laying loose. Sheet metal is rusted through on the bottom right and you can see some of the paper wadding insulation showing through. Left side also is then and has some small rust spots. Top of the lid has surface rust coming through the paint in some areas. I don't believe the latch post are original. It appears that they were replaced with common flat head screws. Overall very good for its age and it's quite an interesting piece which draws attention from everyone that walks by it. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture. This is an awesome vintage Ajax Auto Trunk! A great antique car storage unit for someone who wants to fix it up a little! Old advertisements for this trunk can be found from the 1918s! This trunk is close to 100 years old! The hinges on the lid are still in good condition and workable. The flip-down locks on the front are stiff but open and close well. The center lock no longer works- looks like someone had to"break and enter" as it is slightly bent and the lock mechanism is missing. There are heavy leather handles on the side that are still in very good condition. Above these handles are eye hooks to attach and hold the trunk still. There are decorative rivets holding the steel in place on all the edges. It looks like a few of them have been replaced over the years. All the outside hardware has rust on it. The black outside material ... moreis canvas-leather like. Not sure what it is but there are some rips and showing underneath is wood.There are small holes on the sides and bottom. Maybe this was used for bootlegging at one time? It looks like the bottom could have been nailed down to something as there are small nails that stick up on the inside. Neat old black and white wallpaper type material on the inside of the lid and in the three cubby-holes on the right side. Very spacious measuring approx. 29" long x 15" high. The largest space on the inside measures 24" wide x 11" Each of the cubbyhole spaces measures approx. 4" x 3 1/4 to 3 3/4" with the center space being the smallest. The inside is lined in a canvas type material. I will say there is a very strong mildew smell on the inside. It is dirty inside too- this is definately in need of some TLC! It looks like someone added leather and snaps to the inside of the lid to hold things.the leather is light colored and newer looking. One of these straps is broken. The original leather strap that holds the lid open is scuffed and worn but still works for the purpose. Overall this is a nice vintage trunk with a condition commensurat

Nice Refinished Antique Curve Top Steamer Trunk With Nice Polished Metal and Interior Tray Here is a very nice clean. Refinished fancy embossed patterned metal arch top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. Here are this beautiful trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 34 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 23 1/2 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 19 1/2 inches. This nice trunk is made up of original fancy square or checkered patterned metal along with oak outer slat boards. We wire wheeled the fancy metal to bring it up to a nice shine which is probably very close to what it looked like back when it was sold in the 1800's. We also refinished the outer slat boards by giving them three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. Overall, this trunk is in very nice condition. We brush painted the rest of the metal ... moreby hand in black and gold leaf. The fancy metal is polished, not painted. This one has the original lock. It is missing the key hole cover. It does work with the key we have provided. Since the key hole cover is missing, the key has less guidance into the lock. With some practice, you can engage and disengage the lock with the key. The front latches are original and do work since the springs are still intact. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. We say Amish made because we obtain all of our leather items for these refinished trunks from an Amish man here in Pennsylvania near our home. This would be a fabulous trunk to put at the foot of the bed and store blankets and other clothing items inside, and it is sturdy enough to sit upon the top if you need to do so while changing your clothing. To tell you the truth, this trunk would look nice anywhere inside your home where storage space is needed. Going to the inside, we have made a nice tray for you that rests at the top edge where the original one once did. Gorgeous Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key, and Two Original Interior Trays Here is an absolutely beautiful fancy refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. If you have been waiting for the magnificent trunk with a tremendous amount of hardware. Then this one is definitely the one for you. It is hard for us to find trunks throughout the year that are really nice like this one. Here are the trunk's di mensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. This beauty is made up of pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some typical older ... moredistress marks which include nicks and dings in various places along with some hairline stress cracks. Just about all of the trunks that we refinish have these older character marks or distress marks, most of which have accumulated over time. The edge banding on the sides of this trunk is made up of some type of composition. It has some typical small splits or stress cracks in it, one of which we have shown in a close up picture so there won't be any surprises. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass, therefore we have brush painted the metal by hand in black and gold leaf. This trunk maker went all out and put lots of fancy hardware on this trunk. This beautiful trunk comes with the original signed working lock. Look at the close up picture and you will see it is signed, Eagle Lock Co Terryville Conn" We have matched up a key for you that does work properly with this lock. This trunk originally came with leather straps with buckles. They were eroded away and missing, so we have run a nice pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top in the same location where the original ones did. I found patent dates on the latches of May 1878 and on the locks of April 1870 which makes this awesome old trunk as much as a 135 years old- a true antique. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the metal bottom is in good solid condition. Has had multiple coats of paint applied, three bottom slats, has four original metal wheels and the trunk rolls easily. Still has the three original hinges which are heavy duty, tight, work well and the lid closes easily. There are 30 plus pieces of original polished hardware and has the original Eagle center lock which has been polished- no key. The two original mechanical latches are HD, fancy, tight and and work well. There are 12 original solid oak slats in a golden oak color on the trunk. All hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish for protection. New leather handles were put on. The hinges are dated Dec. 22, 1891. This is an antique steamer trunk. Used for transportation of personal items while traveling by train or the like. The production date is estimated to be pre-1900. You will find this to be a beautiful piece. The condition is a bit rough but as expected for an item that has been used extensively. Imagine this being loaded onto a train car in the early 1900's. I consider it to be in working condition though since the hinges and latches still work. However the key is missing. This is a seldom seen. Early, iron banded trunk with brass button-head nails. I estimate it to be from the 1840s. This trunk has a small shape for such a"massive" trunk. It measures 24" long. 10" wide, and 10" high. The wood used on this trunk is Poplar, and the boards are up to 1" thick! Very heavy duty for such a small trunk. The trunk has been restored in such a way as to retain its antique beauty, and this includes exact reproductions of the original interior, and leather handles. This trunk has early style Brass over lead large head nails on the bands, valance, and handles. THE LOCK HAS NO KEY AND IT SHUTS TIGHTLY AND STICKS SHUT WHEN SHUT BUT DOES OPEN WITH A BIT OF FORCE. THE ORIGINAL HINGES HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN DONE LONG AGO. BEST Antique 18th C Sm. Leather Brass Tack Trunk Box Revolutionary War Early 19t Description: The BEST 18th. Early 19th Century Revolutionary War/ War 1812 Era Small Leather Covered Trunk Though I've seen many similar trunks of this nature over the years. I've never encountered one with an original label left on the interior! Measuring 15 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 6" this is a typical sized trunk that would have been used during the period to hold personal items as well as documents. Writing utensils, small accoutrements, etc. The piece is a domed shape. Covered in leather with hand wrought iron nails, and then finished with brass tacks and top hardware. The piece retains its original blue paper interior(having flaked at small areas as seen in photographs) And bears a great paper label of its maker, John Waldron of New York City- ... morelisting himself as a saddle and trunk maker below the image of an officer on horseback holding a period sword. Take a moment to click on the images and you'll see enlargements that showcase the label. And the condition of the piece. Interior leather hinges have worn thin. There is a crease to the leather on the back. Some small fraying here and there. Small losses to interior. Bottom has a marker indication of'Bouckville NY' no doubt a purchaser bought this at Bouckville NY's annual Antique show and then inking in there inventory number, this should be able to be removed if one chose to put in the effort, personally, as it doesn't affect the display, I've left it as-is. Just a great example of a smaller early leather trunk that would be a perfect addition to any colonial era or Rev War collection! Up for five days with no reserve!
