I was told a family member that the sofa was reupholstered in the early 1970's to its current white vinyl upholstery. At that time their interior design theme went to black and white. Sofa features. One seat cushion and 4 back cushions. Special feature is sofa has a long hinge that spans the back of the sofa. Upon close inspection this hinged back allows the back rest to be reclined to a 45 degree angle for extra comfort(see photos) Perhaps this intentional feature is to allow more room for use as a day bed. Condition Mention’s: Sofa shows extremely well with only minor wear to the white vinyl upholstery. The underside of the seat cushion is photographed with a few marks. Luxurious rare antique sofa
This antique sofa is very comfortable in addition to its uniqueness and beauty. I bought it few months ago from original owner. He said it was his grandmother's and he was in his 50-ies so assume this sofa must be from 1900-1950-ies or even older. The fabric does show wear. So it can be reupholstered or at least cushions. I tried to repaint the back of one of the cushions with fabric paint. As you can see on the picture, but it didn't look good. Antique Miniature SALESMAN SAMPLE SOFA Rare Upholstered CHIPPENDALE Camel-Back
Antique Miniature Chippendale Camel-Back Upholstered Sofa Salesman Sample Furniture This remarkable miniature salesman sample sofa measures 9” high x 20” wide x 8 ½” deep. The front claw-and-ball feet are beautifully carved wood. Possibly mahogany. The graceful back and arms and three separate cushions are upholstered in a fine green silk fabric. Which has been painted with green, cream and red stripes to demonstrate in scale the actual full size fabric pattern. This sofa, along with a matching Chippendale upholstered arm chair, another upholstered easy chair and a beautiful Pembroke drop leaf table were purchased as a set at an antique show in Santa Monica in 1987. At that time they were said to be 64 years old. Putting them at circa 1923, though they may well be older. The dealer had purchased them in Rockport, Illinois as salesman ... moresamples. The construction and upholstery all indicates that they were in fact made as salesman samples and not apprentice pieces or doll furniture. The mahogany is beautifully carved and finished and in good condition. The joints are tight with no wobbly bits or cracks. The painted silk is fragile and in very rough. Shabby chic condition consistent with age. There is loss of paint. Splits in the fabric and staining. Please study the photos with the zoom feature to see these issues. This piece is incredibly charming despite the vintage condition and displays beautifully. It is extremely rare to find a miniature upholstered piece of this age. Paticularly a sofa, as most have not survived the years. This elegant sample. With perfect attention to detail, is a lovely testament to the history of the traveling furniture salesman. This is a stunning beautifully crafted antique wicker chaise and chair from no later than the 1920's. These pieces are both spring set and have the original horsehair pads that were recovered many years ago with these vintage quilted and floral fabrics and the original fabric still remains underneath. The set is clean and has no odors. The frames and springs are sturdy and the cushions are excellent although a small amount of insignificant stain can be found. These pieces have such great vintage character and need no restoration unless you want to perfect the paint or recover the cushions. This auction is for an antique Victorian style sofa and chair set. Not sure of the age or maker of this set as no tags are on either. My guess is that it is from the 1950's or 60's. Antique Mahogany Sofa Table made in England
This is a very nice antique sofa table made in England. It has satinwood inlay to the front, back and top with flamed mahogany to the top. The drawers are solid wood with dovetail joints. The base has extra under carrage for support, and sits on regency style legs with the original brass castors to the feet. I would say it has had some small repairs but nothing major to to the table. The back is finished so it could go into a center of a room if needed. Measurements are 41 wide.20 deep,28 high and the two drop leafs are 11 each, so in total the table is 63 long. 11

Up for sale A very pretty. Vintage, shabby" white wicker Bar Harbor Reed sofa. On the sofa's back it has the"Triple X" where 3 reeds criss cross. Which I am told means that the wicker was of the highest quality and one of the most well made examples of wicker furniture in the 1900's. The sofa has been in my family for many years. And my immediate family has never had it out of doors. It was well kept in a sunroom for the years I have owned it. I have moved and it no longer fits the room I need it to be in. This sofa is in one of the nicest conditions I’ve ever seen for a piece of this age. It is Victorian. Of solid hand-cut black walnut, and ... moredates from the Civil War era of the 1860s or‘70s. I’m sure it’s been re-lacquered or re-varnished, and the upholstery is definitely not original. The fabric is crushed velour of antique red against the gorgeous solid black walnut that has carving all over the entire frame. There is a crack on both of the top outside edges that we can most likely detail out so they’re not so noticeable, and we can do that if the buyer asks, at no additional cost. Other than that, this is in mind-boggling condition. It has carved knuckles, flowers, carvings on the feet, original brass casters with a square cap, and the front skirt has really heavily pronounced carvings of leaves and a clamshell. The overall size, at the widest point, is 85 inches wide, and inside the arms is 65 inches wide. It is 25 inches deep from front to back, and 42.5 inches high to the center carved shield on the top. The arm is 24 inches high, and the seat is 18 inches high. It’s stunning and breathtaking, and will leave your friends speechless when they walk into a room and see it. Comfortable antique sofa has camel back and button-tufted arms. Two loose seat cushions can be flipped. Upholstery is a beautiful deep shade of blue velvety plush fabric with a cut design of diamond shapes. And was professionally done, though not recently. The legs and lower framework are carved with a shell motif, and the wood appears to be walnut. 73 1/2" long, 35" high at the back, and the seat cushions are about 22" deep.
