This is a stunning beautifully crafted antique wicker chaise and chair from no later than the 1920's. These pieces are both spring set and have the original horsehair pads that were recovered many years ago with these vintage quilted and floral fabrics and the original fabric still remains underneath. The set is clean and has no odors. The frames and springs are sturdy and the cushions are excellent although a small amount of insignificant stain can be found. These pieces have such great vintage character and need no restoration unless you want to perfect the paint or recover the cushions. Antique Pale Blue Victorian Sofa
When we purchased this sofa in 1995 we were told by the dealer that it was handcarved and that it had been built in New England in the late 1800's. I really don't know if this is true and will have to rely on the buyer's expertise. After purchasing this ugly green sofa on the advice of a decorator. We had it professionally(expensively) recovered in a pale blue. This is a wonderful French-style solid mahogany carved over upholstered comfortable sofa dating from the 1920s or‘30s. The carved fronts ... moreare highly detailed wood grain on solid mahogany or walnut face. And the French cord fringe on the bottom of the front that dates it from the 1920s or‘30s. It also has a beautiful down filled cushion that really is comfortable. It features curved arms and a camel back, and the fabric is really nice. I can never tell if these have been reupholstered or not, but this one seems to be in really good condition, with no smells, rips or tears, and could probably just use a good cleaning. It comes with two comfortable pillows, one for each end. The sofa is a great size, allowing a six-footer to lie down comfortably, or two people who like each other a lot could easily share this space to watch TV. The overall size is 90 inches wide on the outside of the arms, and 78 inches wide on the inside. It is 22 inches from front to back. 36 inches high to the camel back, and 22 inches to the seat. 1860 Antique Victorian Walnut High Back Sofa(Colorado Pick Up) Excellent condition. No issues. I purchased this at a consignment store in Boulder. Colorado in 1986. The store said the man who consigned it told them it was passed down in his family and was made in Vienna, Austria and dated back to 1860. He claimed his wife never liked it and because of this it was stored in an unused bedroom. After pressure from his wife he decided to sell it in hopes that someone would buy it who would appreciate it. It has been lovingly taken care of by me since 1986 and I hate to sell it, but we just don't have the room for it anymore. The upholstery is the same since we bought it, but it is not the original from back when it was made. It is ready to enhance the beauty of your home and needs no work or restoration.
