A shaped seat rail is supported by four turned legs and original brass capped casters. This fantastic sofa does have an old repair to one end which appears to be very sturdy and secure and one rosette at the left end of the sofa has some inlay loss. Thank goodness the repair is there or by today's standards it would have been in the dump and we would have lost this wonderful piece of art~just my opinion. The vintage cream colored fabric does show some ware on one corner and arm and needs a gentle cleaning. Please look closely and enlarge the pictures as all the detail cannot be shown in 12. for sale a wonderful period piece. this is an antique mahogany slipper sofa or bustle bench some are called. it is very nice condition. It has new fabric which cost about 500 to put on. the back is tufted. it has great form and beauty. the front of the sofa is 42 inches at the widest part of the outside of the feet. it is 47 inches wide at the top at the widest portion of the part of the back that flares out. it is 32 inches tall at the tallest point and 26.5 inches tall in the middle. the seat is app. 17 inches deep. it sits 15 inches from the floor. it is very cozy and comfortable. it is in great antique condition. there are a few minor veneer chips, but no loose veneers. the finish is wonderful. i just cleaned it with liquid gold so it may look a bit shinny. i started to take pictures in my house, but it was dark where i had it, so i moved ... moreit outside for better lighting. it is solid and sturdy. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. ps. i am starting it for a lot less than i have in it. i did not realize how much it was going to cost to recover it.

No reserve! Gorgeous Cameo or Medallion back antique sofa. C. 1870. This sofa was likely made in England, and is a mahogany frame. The wood is in excellent condition with only minor scratches and dings, nothing that is visible in any photos. The upholstery has been recently redone by a professional specializing in this period; any light spots(orbs) in the photos are the photos themselves, not the fabric. I also have quite a bit of the fabric left over which I am including in this auction; I was told that it would be enough to reupholster a small to medium sized chair. I am happy to measure it for you upon request. The sofa has four wheels at the bottom of the legs. And I am unsure but believe they are original also. ONE OF A KIND 88" ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FRENCH SOFA From ENGLAND - SEE PHOTOS
PRICE REDUCED! THIS IS A $4500.00 ANTIQUE SOFA! This LARGE Victorian sofa is ALL ORIGINAL and dates back to the late 1800's(or VERY early 1900's) It is VERY UNUSUAL and a TRUE WORK OF ART. I highly doubt you will find anything like it as our family has collected French and Victorian antiques for as long as I can remember and I haven't seen anything close to it. This very special piece originally came from a French Estate in Europe. It is NOT a reproduction- this is the REAL THING. The workmanship and attention to detail is incredible. I cannot say the sofa is in Mint condition. But it is in EXCELLENT condition considering it is over ONE HUNDRED YEARS OLD. The wood is a deep walnut tone and ORNATELY carved with beautiful details on each hump and center crest. There are also carved roses in the leg portions and carving at the bottom ... moreof the seat. The legs are curved in true French Victorian style and are attached to tiny wheels. The wood is in perfect condition with no missing or repaired pieces. The upholstery is AUTHENTIC and ORIGINAL to the piece. The pattern and color is a SAGE GREEN(Celery Green) DAMASK. The back portion of the piece is PHENOMENAL- it is completely TUFTED with BUTTON CENTERS giving the piece a most ELEGANT look. The springs in the seat cushion are still tight and hold weight well. This piece was displayed in our sitting room in Florida for years and only used as an accent piece. The only flaw that stands out is some faint damage- ONLY ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE UPHOLSTERY. It appears that rust like colored stains have emerged(on the back of the left hump area toward the ground above the gimp trim) But it doesn't really show when displayed face forward. IT MAY CLEAN UP WITH UPHOLSTERY CLEANER but it probably would be best reupholstered. There is also a slight puncture in the upper portion of the back. But once again, as evidenced by my photos, you don't notice this area if placed against a wall. This is the condition in which we purchased the piece. It may come up with upholstery

Antique LOVESEAT 1880s Eastlake NEWLY RESTORED and UPHOLSTERED SOFA SETTEE HISTORY: The 1994 earthquake destroyed all our furniture. Much of which was antiques collected over the years. After retiring to Florida, we looked to replace some items. We found this love seat and a chair which we are also listing stored in a barn and loved the lines. We then located a retired gentleman who had many years experience in restoring antique furniture. He spent a couple of months totally restoring the wood. Then he referred us to a local upholstering company who rebuilt the seat and back and covered it with this beige velvet. Everything under the velvet is totally new as only the frame existed originally. We chose beige as the other furniture in our living room had bright colors and designs. We dressed this loveseat up with fancy pillows to match or coordinate ... morewith the other bright colors in the room. DESCRIPTION: The gentleman who restored this loveseat said that it was from the 1880s and named EASTLAKE. We went online and looked at Eastlake furniture from the 1880s and found pieces very similar to this. MEASUREMENTS ARE: Floor to highest point in middle of back 34 1/2 inches; Widest part from outside arm ends 36 inches; Arm length 21 1/2 inches from back frame to end; and seat is 21 x 33 1/2. Floor to top of padded seat is approximately 14 1/2 inches. This is very low; however. This can easily be made higher with casters. VALUATION: We research similar items for sale and try to price anything we list competitively and usually below lowest comparable. We located same category items from just under three hundred dollars which needed to be upholstered up to several thousand dollars. As we are serious about selling this beautiful loveseat to move to a smaller place. We decide to offer it for sale for $695.00 which is about what we paid to have it restored and upholstered. This is a pre-Civil War era empire period sofa that dates from the 1840s or‘50s. The boys brought it into the shop and tied down a spring ... morein the seat and fixed some boards underneath the seat cushion. They noticed how pretty the flame mahogany was and they scuffed it down and re-sprayed it with a semi-gloss clear lacquer to brighten and bring out the gorgeous grains. It has been reupholstered by someone in a green crushed velour with a buttoned back and arms. And the frame itself is wonderful. It has a hand-carved crest on top with a flowing mahogany trim piece on top that goes up and down like the waves, as well as carved forearms, carved feet, and a gorgeous carved skirt, which are all hand done. The back was never upholstered, which is common, and it shows the construction of the piece. You can simply tack a piece of fabric in place. The overall size is 82 inches wide across the arms, and 66 inches on the inside of the arms. From front to back is 25 inches deep, to the top of the crest is 40 inches high, and the seat is 21 inches. We’re very pleased to offer this lovely sofa. No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the sofa stands upright, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the Chinese silver and makers marks are still clearly legible although as the miniature sofa or settee is a used antique it does have a small hole in the filigree decoration on the seat and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would enhance it greatly. French Provincial Louis XV Antique Settee Loveseat Sofa, c. Late 18th Century
French Provincial Antique Settee[Loveseat. Sofa] 18th Century Item# 120001GJB01 This listing is for a French Provincial Carved Fruitwood Antique Settee. Probably crafted during the late 18th(possibly early 19th) Century. It is a rather interesting piece, boasting a steeply serpentine frame, curving around the upholstered back with offshoots of acanthus carvings throughout, culminating at the top center in a carved foliate motif. Long rounded arms slope from the back, curling into deep hand rests over cabriole arm supports. A flat upholstered seat rests over a wavy apron with foliate carvings that mirror the crest, flanked by cabriole legs terminating in french toes wrapped in acanthus leaves. The joints are locked in place with exposed peg construction. The back of the sofa is exposed, held in place with iron braces that secure the back firmly ... morein place. This is a cute settee with good strength throughout. Despite it's age and delicate nature, making it an antique you can live with and enjoy comfortably. With a warm patina throughout in deeply polished surfaces and a highly oxidized finish, this antique french settee would work well in the formal living room just as easily as a large bedroom between a pair of windows or at the end of the bed. Measurements: 49" wide x 21 1/2" deep x 40" high; seat is 17 1/2" high from the ground Condition Report: Inactive pest damage throughout. Chips. Dings and repairs throughout. Right arm slightly loose, though not structurally a problem. Minor upholstery stains throughout. Small snags in one area of upholstery. For Sale is a possibly 1850's sofa(an Antique dealer mentioned the possible year after investigating its past) I had it professionally reupolstered in a beautiful neutral fabric with a scroll design. Measures 84x33. Very comfortable and accommodates nicely I am not sure of the origin. I just know what I love and when I saw it I had to have it. The many carvings and details in the wood make it unique. One of the carvings looks like a"genie bottle" Professionally reupholstered by the same person who has done all of my work for the past 20+ years. Vertical spindle bar back, topped with a marvelous crossbar all chinoiserie decorated, with multi figural oriental Asian scenes. Back rest is decorated as well as the legs, please see the photos. Straight legs ending in castor wheels. Made in 19th Century, and it shows in quality. The upholstery has been added(large pillow) due to a hole in the caning below. Made in England Circa 1980 Burgundy leather Recently refurbished in England Comfortable Sturdy Crackling on arms, This gorgeous burgundy leather love seat was made in England around 1980. Before importing it to our store in Atlanta. GA the love seat was refurbished by an expert leather worker in England to bring back the leather’s original color and luster. The removable seat cushions were also re-stuffed to bring back the original comfort and firmness. The buttoned burgundy leather is well worn and there is some minor crackling on both arms as shown in one ... moreof the pictures. The inside seat width is 40″ and the seat cushions are 25″ deep and 17.5″ from the floor to the top of the cushion. This love seat is very strong and sturdy sitting on four mahogany bun feet. It would make a beautiful and classic addition to any sized room! Stunning burgundy leather love seat. The sides are clean. Gorgeous from all angles! The buttons on the back rest are all tight and in good condition. The seating area measures 40"x25" Both re-stuffed cushions are firm. Yet soft enough to be comfortable. These brass brads run up and down each of the rolled arms. Both arms have this minor crackling. The mahogany bun feet are in excellent condition and very strong.
