There are some visible seams on the burled top, and it does have some holes from wood beetles, but it has been treated, and should not have any more issues. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that it comes from France, and was originally contructed between 1850 and 1880. We are pleased to offer to the market this stunning antique English cabinet. The maker of this piece is unknown to us. We believe it to be from the late 1800's. A beautiful. Unique and functional piece the attributes of this are numerous. This is made from rosewood and veneer. The gallery top boasts a beautiful marble slab in amazing condition. Above the gallery there is a cabinet with glass doors. The doors have a pretty bell flower with ribbon& bow motif painted on them. This matches the inlaid motif on the base doors. There is an oval shaped beveled mirror between the doors. This has a key for the upper doors and they do lock. Beneath the cabinet doors the backsplash has a larger beveled mirror. The mirror is flanked by shelves mounted on columns with brass accenting. The base section of this has a single drawer above two doors ... morethat open to reveal additional storage space. The drawer has dove tail seams. The drawer has a lock but we do not have the key and the key that locks the upper doors does not work on this lock. There is a faux lock mechanism on the bottom doors as well. With no lock mechanism inside. This is strictly decorative and not functional. The upper and lower lock areas all have brass hardware on them. Beautiful American Antique New York 1800s R J Horner Carved Oak Sideboard Base
Here is an absolutely fabulous 19th century RJ HORNER New York USA made sideboard buffet base. You can see three small holes on top at the back where a mirrored top was probably attached. I bought this as a base only and had it refinished over 30 years ago-it was a dark mess and the wood grain wasn't visible otherwise I would have left it original. I wanted to see the glorious oak grain and everyone that has seen it over the decades has mentioned what an awesome piece it is. The carving is magnificent-hairy feet. Faces, shells, florals-fantastic quality. The drawers in the center are still there and usable, though could probably use some TLC to get them back to their best-there is a small chip in a corner and chain that holds it open needs some work. There are a couple of minor scuffs-one on top and one on lower side-captured in photos, ... moreand a couple of scratches on the top-tried to photograph. The bottom drawer sticks out-since last move 25 years ago. The nose of a center face has been flattened somewhat-again-with last move. One handle on left drawer is not rounded-may have had a piece off-has been that way since I bought it over 30 years ago. There is some minor denting around key locks-no key available. There may be another flaw,but I don't see them-but again this beauty is way over 100 years old. The back is fully intact-solid. Weighs a ton-built to last forever. AMERICAN PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE BUFFET/SERVER/CABINET This listing is for an Antique Server. It has been in the owner's family for the last sixty years. It comes from a household filled with many Country/Shaker/ Mission/ Primitive AUTHENTIC antiques. It is beautifully hand carved with spindle legs adding warmth and usefulness to any home. We are not experts. And after much research we are still not certain if it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is NOT a reproduction. It has a solid Primitive Americana look and feel. It seems to be either Jacobean or Tudor in style. There are some numbers stamped on the back. Some finishing nails and flathead screws were used in it's construction. The drawer is held together by dovetail grooves. See photos) There is some wear. But there is no evidence of any repairs or restoration. We ... morehave the loosened knob to a cabinet door and it will be included with the item. There are no broken hinges. Both doors open and close beautifully. There is a blemish where a child once painted a face with a magic marker at the top of a back spindle leg. See close-up photo. The server is a deep honey brown in color. In order to bring out blemishes. Some photos were taken in a bright daylight. Most of the photos were taken in different types of light. With two different cameras and on different days. The color may be inconsistent in the photos. But this provides a more informed look at the item. Dimensions: The Server is 37& 1/2" tall at the front. It is 44& 1/2" tall at its back. This includes the splash guard& back spindle leg. It measures 38" wide/across and 16& 7/8" deep from front to back. This impressive sideboard of large proportions has a large mirror upstand with ornate carved showframe over a base of inverted breakfront form with frieze drawers supported by twin pedestals with ornately carved fielded panel doors united by undertier and raised on plinth base. The carving throughout is of high quality with floral detailing and crisp edges. The sideboard is in good working order with no worm or splits. It measures 6'11" 83" wide by 3' tall at top board(3'7" tall at backsplash) by 23" deep. Excellent condition: oak without chips or cracks, original brown finish with gilt accents on the carvings. This is a mahogany formal style Chippendale sideboard with a rope carved top. Swell-front with a step back outside, and an applied ... morebracket foot base. Dating from the early 1940s, it is made and sold by the Drexel Furniture Company, as stamped on the inside. It also has a blue label from the Mahogany Association, guaranteeing that all exterior pieces are real mahogany or mahogany faced. It has solid brass heavy carved hardware on the dovetail drawers, doors, and flat drawers. It also has two oversized doors with shelves fixed in the center, and picture frame molding across all the doors. Above the doors are flat-front dovetail drawers on each side of the cabinet. In the center, there is a curved section that breaks out about 1.5 inches from the sides, and that section has four graduated height dovetail drawers that provide tons of storage. The top has been re-sprayed to remove all the nicks and dings and to reveal the gorgeous dark reddish brown finish used. This is just one of the great items we're offering this week. Unique Antique Linen dated 1823. It looks like A 18(another letter) 23 F. All handstitched.1823) Linen appears to be a cover for a buffet.With crocheted lace on just one side. Detailed hand work is amazing. About 15" in width and 42-43" in length( about 36 3/4"without the lace on each side) The linen feels soft. This came out of a box in the basement with an old sampler(I just listed)The sampler also has the A F name. But no date. I have not washed or ironed this. There are no torn or worn places, but there is some staining,which you can see in the picture. It appears to be mainly from storage. It comes from a smoke free home,however, I can detect this cloth has a hint of being in a box. I am hanging out in fresh air this week,before shipping.

Antique mission quarter sawn oak sideboard-server
This mission sideboard is very sturdy and has been recently refinished. The top has been replaced with a solid piece of quarter sawed oak to match the rest of the piece. The bevel glass mirror has been stripped off and a new mirror installed behind the bevel to give it a look of authenticity. A very fine antique. Circa 1920's, solid mahogany Louis XV style sideboard, the front drawers and sides with veneers and bands of parquet inlay, the sideboard front corners wth walnut burl. It is finely carved on legs, skirt, and stretchers with scrolling acanthus leaves. The straight back legs, and the center drawer, are fluted. The Belgian black marble top with beveled edge is fine without damage or repairs. It measures 7" 84" wide by 3'1" 37" tall by 23" deep. Excellent condition: original brown unworn finish, no losses to inlays, veneers, or burls.

The second thing that strikes you about this chiffonier is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this chiffonier chose some very good quality timbers for the job. This has resulted all these years later in a chiffonier with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by mahogany of this age and quality. This is a beautiful piece that offers wonderful storage with its large drawers and cabinets and features its original original brass hardware. Original mirror back and its old original finish with period dove-tailed joinery on the drawers. This sideboard measures 59 1/2 inches in height to the top of the gallery at the back. Total height to the top of the base measures 38 inches, total width of 54 inches, total depth of 24 inches and weighs approximately 150 lbs and does dis-assemble into 2 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The drawers and doors are nicely carved. This piece is extremely heavy. It has a solid thick marble top. Each glass cabinet on the top of this buffet/sideboard locks. This cabinet does come with two keys. ... moreOne for the top, and one for the bottom doors. This piece is in excellent condition considering its age. Doors and Drawers work appropriately. One of the locks on the bottom door does stick a little, but the key does open and lock it. Remember this is an old antique piece of furniture.
