There is the two door and two drawer top section over four drawers in the base section. The two doors are paneled. All of the hardware is original as are the lock sets. There is one original key. The drawers will also lock. I did not add a photo of the hand planed back boards but have such if anyone is interested. The top of the base opens up to reveal a nice work section. All of the drawers are hand dovetailed. And all surfaces were hand planed. The four shaped bracket feet are a combination of extensions of the sides and applied feet in the front. We are pleased to offer this EXQUISITE. Antique(early 20thC) French, Louis XV, ladies, petite desk/secretary with hutch. The pieces are burled mahogany and rosewood veneer. They are oval(the hutch is demilune) and there is a decorative bottom stretcher that is large enough to function as a shelf. Both the desk and the hutch feature EXCEPTIONAL. Marquetry inlay with unique patterns. The patterns are urns, ewers and flower pots accented with leaves and flowers. These are somewhat"ancient, earthenware" looking patterns, instead of the usual, more formal, marquetry designs. The marquetry is abundant and is present on the front, sides, bottom stretcher, as well as on the top of the table and the top of the hutch. The back profile of the hutch is a grained, rosewood veneer. The desk features a center drawer with old, dove tail joints. ... moreThe hutch features a center, open storage area, two side storage areas with doors, and a center drawer. The doors are hinged with brass hinges and are fixed with brass, flat head screws. There are ornate, bronze mounts on the front legs and the front feet. Antique 1900-1950 Slant Drop Front Oak Secretary Desk - Lionhead
I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite like it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. Welcome This is an antique mahogany secretary desk. It is dark wood and it has 4 drawers and it has the original drawer pulls and drawers open and close good. The secretary has the drop down front which makes it a desk and the glass is not broken anywhere and the wood is in good condition for the age of the secretary. There are minor scratches and nicks from use but this is in good condition. The lock and the key in included here as shown in photo. Antique Secretary Desk Slant Front Wood Mahogany Rockford Chair & Furniture LPU
Selling this wood secretary desk. This was made by the Rockford Chair and Furniture Co. Rockford ILL. I am not 100% certain, but the research I've done makes me believe it was made between 1920 and 1930, but I could be wrong. This desk measures about 32 1/4" wide by 40" tall. Measures about 17 1/2" deep when closed and 29 1/2" when opened. Has various signs of age/use. Such as light scratches, a chip out of the front foot and some rough marks in the one drawer. Please have a thorough look at the photos for details. I am not sure what wood it is but I believe it is mahogany? We do not have the key. Local Pick Up Only! Cash on pick up preferred.

It features plenty of storage space within a compact design. Opened or closed. This secretary makes a statement in elegant simplicity. There is a slight crack in the wood at the bottom left of the door which is only on the outside. it does not go through. Nor does it affect the beauty or functionality of the piece. Replaced back feet Sturdy Very good overall condition, This antique bureau desk was hand-crafted in Victorian England around the year 1860. Today the antique mahogany remains as beautiful as ever. With a rich complexion and a striking grain. Satinwood string inlays and flame mahogany crossbanding adorn the fall, providing a lovely contrast. Each drawer features ... morehand-cut dovetails and solid brass pulls(recently replaced) The brass escutcheons. While quite attractive, no longer house functioning locks except on the fall which does lock and includes a key. Each side has a horizontal line where the piece was obviously cut in half to remove from a home and put back together. These lines are purely cosmetic and don’t affect the structural integrity of the piece. During a past restoration, a line of black stain was applied to these separations to complement the actual dark inlay around the bottom. Inside the bureau desk part is a very nice mahogany work surface that measures 37″ wide x 22″ deep x 31.5″ from the floor. There are three small drawers and eight nooks for storing as well. When closed. The fall does not completely close(there are small gaps on either side) but does lock. All of the drawers open and close easily. You will see from the pictures that they do not close flush to the bureau, as we often see with solid wood antiques. Finally there are a number of minor wear marks throughout and the back feet were also replaced during the previous restoration. This is a beautiful antique drop front desk. It is made in the Larkin style. I have not seen any marks that indicate a maker. The piece is dark wood and may be either mahogany or cherry. I am not a wood expert. There is a mirror and two candle holder/sconce shelves for detail, there are also shelves for books. The piece has some wear and tear on the wood, see pics, but nothing huge. It needs a good cleaning! There is no lock detail on the front and no locking mechanism. The last picture shows a brass detail piece that can be added if you like. It will be included with the item. Antique Drop Front Secretary Desk- 1940's- Solid wood. Has large Ball and Claw feet. And all original brass hardware. It has three drawers, and inside of the drop down has three drawers, a door and six cubby holes. The drop-down locks, but I don't have the key for it. The dimensions are 43" high x 34" wide x 17" deep. With the drop-down open, it is 29" deep. It has a 2-1/2" x 3" section of the lower left front corner where a piece of the veneer is missing. It has some age and wear scratches, and one of the brass drawer pulls is broken, but I have the piece that broke off. These flaws can be seen in the photos. Therefore, this is an as is sale.

The top part has 2 shelves with the cut ridge for plates, and then you have the bottom to act like shelve, under the slanted top is 6 drawers and 3 filing compartments, inside 1 file looks like spilled ink but not exactly sure, then there's 3 regular drawers on the bottom, also comes with key to lock the top and slanted cover. This unit is in good vintage condition. There are no cracks or other damage-it has scratches and nicks but overall it looks very good for the vintage in my opinion. It looks like at some point over the years it had a coat of varnish applied, the varnish has aged quite a bit. Antique Primitive Painted Secretary Desk Victorian chest oak vanity cupboard bed
100 yr. Old Painted Desk We have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. This oak secretary or writing chest is absolutely wonderful and is so much more attractive in person than the pictures. Every authentic antique painted piece of furniture of this nature is original unique and of its own beauty and this one is no exception. Green color is rich and deeper green in person than with camera flash. The green is likely an old oil based enamel or lead paint. The top surface is glared in a couple pictures appearing a different color but it is the same green color as the rest of the cabinet. The paint is not flaking or pealing but is still very strong adhering all over. Loads of character and charm. The whole piece is solid as a brick and not rickety or wobbly. I don't see ... moreany repairs or cracks etc. Typical wear that would be indigenous to this period and stature. I took a close up of damage on interior of the door around the drop hinge arm. Drawers function well and door closes nicely. I particularly like the shaker style going narrower to the floor as seen in the side profile. The detail in curvature of the drawer fronts is unique as well. There has been no back on the cabinet for many years. I have seen hundreds of secretaries in my days but have never seen this particular style before. This little cabinet is simply divine and could be used in so many rooms of a home to suite your taste. Beautiful Antique Chippendale Style Mahogany Secretary Desk
This has been in our family since it was bought new- probably in the 1920s- maybe a little earlier. It is in very good condition- original finish and all original hardware and glass. It is very solid. And inside it has various neat cubbies, including two hidden compartments. It has claw feet and a lot of nice details. I have looked around, but haven't been able to find another one exactly like it. The manufacturer's label is long gone, but it is a quality piece(the original owner had a seat on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange) We would keep it but can't find a place to put it in our house.

Antique Late 1800's VictorianTiger Oak Secretary Desk / Curio; Curved Glass
This is an absolutely wonderful curved glass secretary/desk/curio cabinet. This cabinet is uniquely free-formed carved as shown on the upper trim of the backboard. I have never seen such nonlinear craftsmanship. The curio cupboard has curved glass in front. And the mirror on top is beveled glass. Three lower drawers and the angled lid for the desk has a carved wood relief design. When opened, it serves as a small desk with divided nooks for letters, notes, etc. There is also a small drawer. This is tiger oak and in excellent condition. With only one issue: The handle on the left side of the center drawer has been bent. It looks like it could be bent back/restored, or replaced. 16526 Antique Victorian Walnut Butler’s Secretary Desk - Civil War Era
We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous Victorian oversize 107” tall butler’s walnut secretary desk that came in recently. We are always intrigued with these and they are always found in the old dark Civil War era finish which is kind of grungy and doesn’t show the walnut right. So. We brought it into the restoration shop to hand strip(which takes a long time, but is well worth it to leave the patina or original color in the wood) hand sand meticulously throughout, stain the same factory color and applied multiple coats of hand rubbed lacquer until it builds up a beautiful semi glow lustrous finish such as this. It has the original glass, original triple adjustable shelves, we had to replace some of the center slats and the crest is original. Everything on this desk is original except for the exterior finish and the felt that we ... morereplaced. The cabinet dates from the 1860s era. We are fortunate enough to get one or two of these every year, but we scour the entire United States to obtain the rare and hard to find items such as this. This desk has gothic block pyramid columns down on the base with spoon carving on the incise carved and picture frame panel doors that open for a large space that probably had a shelf previous. If the buyer would like us to put a shelf behind the doors, we will do so if you tell us at the time of purchase. The cabinet also features panel sides all the way up, which a cheap one would not as it would be plank sides, but this one is walnut all the way. There is Cornish molding all the way around the shapely two doors that open to reveal a triple shelf adjustable height interior, carved columns with diamond points for motifs and big leaves are carving in with dainty little cornices. The top of the cabinet has a double wide crown molding and a large center finial broken arch top. It doesn’t get much better than this. In the 1940's these were called"secretary desks" because of the typing height surface that pulls out. The classic design. Excellent tongue and groove construction, and large size make this an excellent executive or home office desk. The typing area is perfect those working on computers. I bought this desk at an Antique Shop in the midwest in the 1970's. Then stripped and restored it. This desk is an unfortunate victim of downsizing. It is very ornate and in great condition with only a small nick here and there. It is very intact and solid without any cracks. Breaks or separations. It appears to be some sort of pressed board with an embossed paper-type coating. The embossing is also present on the inside front of the two compartments.
