Antique Dresser Set, 6 pieces, Royal Bavaria
This is a six piece dresser set. There are no chips or cracks. The pieces are ivory color with trim of pale blue- flowers are blue and pink. Lots of gold trim. The two round dishes. One has a full lid, the other has a whole in it for hair. They are stamped Royal Baveria. The small plate is stamped B&G Co. France and the large one has a stamp GOA France and then printed in ink, M. Miller. The large plate is 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" small plate is 8 1/2" x 3" the two bowls are 5"x4" I don't know why the pieces have different stamps on them. They have the exact same design on each piece. It is a beautiful set.

Fine American New England 18th Century Federal Chest of Drawers Dresser, Antique

Description: This listing is for a Federal Period Red Painted Maple Chest of Drawers. Probably Connecticut c. 1780-1800. It is a gorgeous work of art with a rather early and wonderful crusty red and black painted surface over the primary woods. The top projects over the case, finishing in soft molded edges over four graduated drawers. Each drawer features fully original hand cast batwing hardware and faux-keyhole escutcheons with numerous layers of original and later paints- one picture below shows a faux-keyhole escutcheon removed from the case, depicting the gritty surface behind it as well as detailed closeups of the back of the hardware. Each drawer is hand dovetailed with broad and rough dovetails, using what appear to ... morebe Eastern Pine for the drawer frame and bottom. The bottom is deeply chamfered to rabbet into the frame, and each drawer bottom is nailed at the back, though many nails are later with only a few originals. Each drawer is divided by cross bars that through-dovetail into and through the side of the case and backed by pine drawer runners nailed inside the case with rose head iron nails(one drawer runner top right replaced) The bottom of the case is uniquely designed, sliding into rabbets in the sides of the case along the entire bottom, locking at the front with an exposed through-dovetail. The top, likewise built to last, is joined at the top with a sliding dovetail joint that allows the top to expand and shrink easily without causing cracking or pressure. The back of the case features two board construction, one board being incredibly wide at 20" the second board being 13" wide with a soft ovular flow between the back feet. Original iron rose heads line the perimeter of the case back, locking the very thick secondary wood to the case permanently with only one replaced nail. Feet mostly original w/ repairs and restorations, c. 1770-90 Item# 120010OEY02 This is a beautiful bachelor's chest with fine proportions. Crafted of solid cherry wood throughout all primary surfaces. The case is crafted entirely using dovetail joinery, noting the sides which lock to the top with a half-blind dovetail, covered with a fine molded rim; the bottom mirrors the top construction, and the drawer divider bars dovetail into the face of the chest. These are of only partial depth, not full dustboards, typical of New England designs as it lessened the overall weight of the chest. The facade is four graduated drawers with bold batwing brasses, each replaced using nearly the same holes, ... morethe brasses of the same age as the chest. The drawer construction shows exquisite attention to detail, note the channeling along the top of the drawer framing, a design characteristic of Massachusetts(though also seen throughout other New England states) The sides of the chests wear fine brass carrying handles, each of magnificent proportions with original hand forged screws locking them to the chest. They are likely added to the chest, though since the chest would not have had brasses on the sides of the chest to start with this is difficult to prove. The chest rests on scroll cut bracket feet, mostly original with mostly original blocking, the right side of the feet replaced in exact replication of the rest of the chest. This is a gorgeous piece. A visual delight and crafted with utmost attention to detail. The cherry boards have a wonderful jagged flamed grain with just a tinge of the soft red hue associated with a natural cherry. The woman pictured is young with long flowing hair wearing an off the shoulder dress and a small tiara or jewel in her hair. The box originally contained a shaving set- mug and brush. But they were not included when I purchased the box. There is a small chip in the celluloid at the edge directly above the latch. The latch and hinges are in working condition. The fabric linining is complete but does have some discoloration in spot s. The sides are decorated with floral paper. The box measures about 6 1/2 inches square x 3 1/2 inches tall. Antique Three Section Dresser Mirror with Wood Backing. Assembly stands 37" tall with the center section being 18-1/2" wide while flanking mirrors are 9-1/4" wide. Mirror panels are mounted to 7/8" thick wood backing with metal clips. Flanking mirror are attached to center panel with lift-off type hinges so can be moved/shipped/transported as three pieces. Wood backs of side panels look to be finished while center panel appears to be partially sanded only. The silvering of the mirrors is not in perfect condition as there is some discoloration and splotching. The dresser stands on square back legs and round turned front bun feet supporting the main section where there are two large doors to the bottom. Above these doors there are two drawers that have lovely drop handles leading to the top that is in good condition leading to a bull nosed edge. The top itself sits neatly upon the base and is slightly set back being supported on two columns where there is an open section for storage purposes. There are two doors above with the most wonderfully carved corbles again that are slightly different to the bottom carvings. Behind the doors there is a shelf for storage. We replaced the dull gold dralon panels with the more up to date and contemporary regency red panels and apart from this minute cosmetic improvement the piece is the same as it was when it was constructed approximately 117 years ago. There is a minor black mark to the work top(see pic 10) but all in perfect keeping with age& use. A superb quality piece made by one of the greatest cabinet makers of the 19th century. It measures 121/2" high X 9" at it's widest point. It is very heavy weighing almost 4 pounds! The mirror itself is 5" x 6" It is a striking addition to any room. Antique Moschendorf Bavaria Cobalt Blue Floral Dresser Tray with Handles
Offered for sale is a very lovely antique two-handle porcelain Bavarian tray. It can be used as a dresser tray or as a square dessert or serving tray. It is in very nice condition. N o nicks. No chips. No fleabites. The tray has a lovely. Wide, 1 1/2" cobalt blue edge with a multi-color 4" floral bouquet in the center. The flowers are varying shades of red-orange, peach, pale blue, and fuschia, among others. The surrounding blue edge is symmetrical, but because of the darkness of the color, it was difficult to get a picture that shows the symmetry. NOTE: Under the glaze are four small round areas of blue(shown in one of the close-up photos) These would have occurred during the glazing process. The tray is stamped PM Bavaria. Indicating manufacture by Porzellanfabrik Moschendorf. The porcelain was molded with a relief design around the perimeter that I can only show by manipulating the colors; I've done so in the last picture. Take a look at the pictures! Any white spots are reflections; there are no chips. No flea bites, no cracks. This piece is lovely, whether for your dining room or dresser top. I describe my items as accurately as possible. This 2 piece hand blown circa 1850 piece is 7.5 inches high and is made of with a slightly translucent white opaline glass. It was made in the Stourbridge area of England probably by the W. H. B. J. Richardson firm who first introduced this type of decoration in the late 1840’s. This is a beautiful sterling four piece art nouveau dresser or vanity set with a highly unusual design motif. It features a roaring lion. Amidst jungle vines. The lions on each piece are individual– each different from the others. The vines are in high relief and the lions have fine detail. You can see the lions’ sharp teeth and claws. As well as their ribcages. It is nicely monogrammed on script“GDM” Each of which is in a differently shaped banner. To each of the four pieces is stamped“ STERLING” and the maker’s mark“IB” with a sword through it. For Blackington& Co. of North Attleboro. MA(1862– 1967) As well. Each piece is stamped in various places, as best suit the different items, PAT 1904” and the respective model numbers of the pieces. The set is in very good used antique condition. With some insignificant small dings to the wide ... morehollow sides of most of the pieces. The clothes brush has two small dents. And the comb has five partially missing teeth. Any dark or bright spots not mentioned previously are reflections in photography. The set consists of: A heavy hand mirror with thickly scalloped edges. And two lions amongst the vines facing each other across the monogrammed shield shaped banner central area. The bevelled glass is in perfect condition. The mirror measures 10 ½’ long and 6 ½” across; A hair brush has one lion. The brush’ bristles are clean. Natural and intact. The hair brush measures 9 ½” X 3 ½” A clothes brush also has a single lion. The bristles are in very good condition as stated above. Antique 16" Empire Miniature Chest of Drawers Empire Dresser with 7 Drawers
Offered for sale is a miniature child's toy sized empire dresser. This piece was most likely made in the early part of the 1900s. The drawer bottoms appear to be stained. They are not oxidized. The inside of each drawer is also painted, so it is hard to tell the exact age, since there is no raw exposed wood. Though, the finish on the outside has been on long enough, say 75 years to have crackled. The only way for this to happen is over time, so, we can date this piece to at least 75 years. Large high back splat. With a deck of two drawers on the top. The large top drawer underneath that has two drawers as well and then three long drawers on the bottom of the piece. The style of this is Empire. And has all the elements one would associate with that design, the overhanging large top drawer and the curved elements running down to the front ... morefeet. In as found condition. The edges have bumps and chips, and this needs a good going over with a dark polish to hide the exposed wood under the original finish. Crafted in England c1950, Jacobean style, Tiger oak construction, Dovetailed joints, Disassembles for movement, Sturdy. Excellent condition, This lovely oak Welsh dresser was crafted in England around the year 1950. Today. The wood remains as beautiful as ever, with a lovely patina, a rich complexion, and a highly pronounced"tiger" oak grain. The design of this piece is distinctly Jacobean: the beaded edging, paneled doors, teardrop pulls, and hanging finials are all common design elements in Jacobean period furniture. Each drawer features ... moredovetailed joints, while the top simply lifts off of the base for easy movement. The two lower cabinets also lock with an accompany key; the locks continue to operate very smoothly. Remarkably, this dresser has sustained only the lightest, almost invisible surface wear, so overall condition is excellent. This dresser contains plenty of storage space. The sides look great. Shown here is the sturdy back. The top features five arches; shown here are the three in the center. Each side contains a vertical cabinet. There are two smaller cabinets in the base.
