Up for sale today is a beautiful antique tiger oak dining table and six chairs. This table was purchased in the late 1800's/early 1900's by either my great great grand fa ther or my great grandfather(they had the same name) who lived near Chicago. Illinois. This one comfortably seats 12 and will seat more if you care to get closer. I do not know if the chairs are original to the table. They do match and they are the only chairs I have ever seen with the table, but I was not around in the 1800's. The table is in wonderful condition as it has always been used with the original. Thick table pads protecting it and a table cloth over that. My family ha ve always been non-smokers. So there are no burn marks or yellow marks. The table needs a good cleaning, that is all. The chairs show more wear as they don't have protection like ... morethe ta ble. They are still used daily. The cushions have been replaced over the years and are now a fruit pattern. The last picture is of the store label holding the table for my great great grandfather(or great grandfather) This label is still in place under the table top. The table was purchased at Carson Pirie Scott& Co. This is an expanding table with four 10" leaves for adjusting t he size. At it's smalle st. The table is 54" round. At it's largest. It is approximately 94" long. The pads are made in sections so fit whatever size you wish the table to be. Pictures show the table at its smallest. Its largest, and also with three leaves in place. The mechanics for adjustment work smoothly. There are wheels on the base of the table and it rolls easily. Please look carefully at the pictures. This table is well over 100 years old. In my opinion. It shows very minimal wear for its age, but it is not"like new" Please keep in mind that the chairs, having been used for these many years, show much more wear than the table. TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS TABLE- IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING& BEAUTIFUL. It measures 48" x 48" in its smallest, non-extended(i.e. shortest form with no leaves) It comes with SIX 12" x 48" leaves which extend the table to 48" x 120" INCREDIBLY. When fully extended. It can reach a whopping 13 FEET 2 1/2" LONG! I am not clear on exactly how old the table is but would estimate 1880- 1900. The Leaves fit perfectly and work well. The Table is in overall BEAUTIFUL condition with a few table top scratches/ character marks(see photos) certainly to be expected due to age and use but nothing effecting the tables beauty. The Tables 6 Legs rest on rolling casters for ease of movement. They ... moreare easily removable or replaceable. The Table is 30" tall and I estimate(just a guess) it weighs. Including the 6 leaves@ 100- 125 pounds. I would say not all of the leaves are original based on grain pattern but it still looks awesome none the less. NOTE: The 2 ornate end leg sets are all one piece and easily removable by 2 bolts. I mention this for a couple of reasons. First. The Leg Sets are reversible and can be used either facing in or facing out. I have take a photo with the legs set each way so carefully examine them so you see this effect. It could be just a matter of personal preference as to how you would want to set it up but it is easier to have someone sitting in a chair at the end of the table with the legs facing inward and additionally there is some nice cared detail to be seen(see photo) when they are in this originally intended position. Also, I can dismantle the table for shipping, cost and safety purposes and it would save some space. for auction is one of the finest empire mahogany dining tables i have owned in this price range. i have had horner and others that were in excess of 10-14.000, but none any better built or better quality. this is a great 54 inch split pedestal table with a great turned center leg suppot. it has three 14 inch leaves which have the same grain, color, and patina as the top. leaves installed makes this an eight foot table. if the leaf runner stops were removed, i expect it would open to 12 feet. the table is presented in original finish, there is some crazing to the finish but i would never refinish it. the table is solid mahogany with no veneers, has great grain and a fantastic pedestal which is heavily carved and contoured. the feet are massive claw feet which are carved all the way up the knee to the pedestal. i sold this table to a fella ... moremaybe 3 or 4 years ago and he needed some money, so i have him his money back. with shipping charges i have almost as much in the table as i am starting it for. i am taking it apart to put in storage as i have no room in my house for it. i have like 3o pictures so if you want to see anything else hopefully i have a picture of it, if not i can get one. the table may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. i just spent several hours cleaning the dirt and grim out of the carvings etc. i used new life and liquid gold, so if it looks a bit shinny here and there i probably didn't get all the cleaner wiped away. any spots or usual looking objects in any of the pictures if from a dirty camera. i can't seem to get some of the junk off the lens.

This auction is for a gorgeous antique vintage fine white ... morelinen satin stitch and cutwork dining tablecloth with wide crochet trim. This tablecloth has been lovingly kept in a dining room sideboard. Brought out for only the most special occasions, and professionally cleaned before returning to its place. Please look over the photos to see the motif and construction of this tablecloth. You can see the several panels that have been embroidered and otherwise embellished to create the stunning piece you see here. And then the panels are edged and further enhanced by the crochet bridges. There must be hundreds of hours of hand work in the end product. We don't know where it was made, but the workmanship speaks for itself. This is a cloth of excellent quality with a high thread count; thin and strong. It measures approx. 104" by 73" Counting the crochet trim. There is some yellowing along the main fold lines, so a professional cleaning would be in order. This is heirloom quality! Good Luck!
