Antique Victorian Inlaid Wood Lap desk Travel Train Letter Writing Portable
This is a very neat old travel lap desk. I would guess hand made. Neat inlays and borders. it measures 12.5 long by 8 wide by 5 tall. the inside has compartments, and hinged covers on the inside. the hinge on the left side of the top inside is loose, and the felt has disintegrated from the boards on the inside and the bottom. there is a removable pencil holder. the desk is solid and has no damage other than the broken hinge on the inside. see my other auctions for more neat old items. Antique Australian Cedar Clerks Desk Stand Up Ipad Rest table Tablet 1880's This amazing Clerk's desk is Around 130- 140 years old and is made of the Australian timber known as red Australian Cedar or Red Gold. Its former botanical name was Toona Australis now Toona Ciliata. It is a timber rich in virtues. Scented, soft to the touch, easy to work, resistant to insect and fungal attack, it was the preferred timber for the cabinet making industry until the last of the great stands of trees were cut down at the turn of the century. This is one of the nicest examples of a clerks desk i have seen. Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Golden Oak Antique C-Roll-top Desk with One 4-Drawer Bank and FREE Desk Chair
This is a good looking golden oak desk with one four drawer bank of drawers on the right. It measures 36" wide. 43" high, and 28" from front to back. It is mostly solid oak accept the upper sides are veneered. In the picture the rich golden oak stain and grain is evident. There are three slits on the side-left where the veneer has buckled, and a mark on the intact upper right side of the desk that has a slight black discoloration. There are a few chips on the inside right of the roll-top side that has occurred, otherwise the desk is clean and rich in style. There are two interior 9.5" drawers at the upper desk with numerous open compartments. The four larger drawers measure 10" wide by 20" deep. The original key is included that works for the roll-top only. The lock may not be aligned properly and I haven't ... morelocked the desk for a while. Antique Wood & Cast Iron 2' Tall A.S Co. Student Desk w/ Folding Seat & Ink Well
This little desk is in great shape. The seat folds up and down easily. And the manufacturer can be seen plainly on the side(although the sun was so bright that I couldn't get a good photo of that. There are little worm holes all over the desk which, to me, add to the character. I would prefer local pickup, but will deliver within a 50 mile radius of 75651 zip code for a fee. ANTIQUE MACEY NO. 25 BARRISTER BOOKCASE & OAK DESK - GLOBE WERNICKE TYPE STACKER
I have a rather hard to find Macey Bookcase with drop front desk. Desk is in need of restoration. Lid is cuped and will not close easily, someone drilled a small hole below the lock, I assume it was to aid in opening the lid. Interior with all the shelves is in good order, one of the lid arms is missing, veneer is missing on the bottom part of the lid. Desk top is made to have additional bookcases stacked on top. Unit measures 44 inches tall by 34 1/4 inches wide by 16 3/4 inches at its deepest point. Bookcase area is 12 inches deep by 13 inches tall and about 32 wide inside measurement. Door is probably not the right one but I think it could be made to work, It is wide enough but looks like it is about 3/4 inches too short, if you added a small piece across the top it would probably work. Not sure how the slides work. Has nice pillars on ... morethe front, all in all its a pretty neat old piece and deserves to be brought back, hope someone out there can do it. Featuring a pierced brass gallery wrapping around shaped marble with turret corners over fluted fruitwood pillars with brass mounts. The drawer has original brass hardware with a strong lock in the middle, the keyhole a four-leaf clover lock guard, limiting the keys that can access the hole- this lock mechanism is mirrored on the drop-lid and on the pair of cabinet doors. I believe this is from the 1920's but it is not dated. I figured the 20's because Peiping became Peking in 1928. Siam is also still on the globe which became Thailand in 1948. Globe is in as seen condition. It is definently showing it's age. Some of the cardboard is seperating but is all complete. Solid, and not falling apart. Antique Slant Top Teacher's Desk
Authentic slant top teacher's desk. Made from clear pine. Has a single wide drawer and cubby holes inside the slant top compartment. Dimensions: 31" wide. 21" deep, 34" tall This desk is typical of those used by teachers in one-room school houses in the 19th century. The outside of the desk has been refinished but the inside is in its original condition. The internal lock mechanism is missing. But the outside lock plate is still there. One hinge is also a little loose. As you would expect of a piece used in a schoolhouse, it has a few scuffs. However, these are part of the charm of the piece.

This writing desk has a flush panel top with a simple molded detail on the edges that carry down the outside of the legs. There are 4 drawers with raised panel fronts. The outside drawers are slightly larger and have nice original butterfly pulls. The 2 center drawers have simpler. But very decorative pulls. The ends and back are also raised panels. The vertical frame between the drawers and the stepped stretcher below the drawers have a molded detail which carries down the inside of the legs. There is a Lattice footrest between the legs. This is a well ... moreworn but charming piece. The left legs are approx. 1/2" shorter than the right legs and leans slightly as shown in the photos. We prefer to leave it as is. Bur can be easily corrected with slight blocking attached to the bottom of the left legs or trimming the right legs to match the left. The are some repairs to the lattice footrest and the front stretcher of the footrest is curved down in the front from many years of the weight of feet resting on it.
