Condition: Used Location: Fairfield, United States We are pleased to be offering today what I believe to be a bench made custom solid tiger sawn oak Chippendale raised panel all the way around cabriole ... moreleg flat top desk that dates from the 1890's. The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

The carvings. Period details and burl walnut accents on this 19th century desk are just beautiful and this desk is definitely heirloom quality.a beautiful statement piece for your home! This fine desk measures 45 1/2 inches in height to the top of the gallery at the back.Height to the top at the front measures 46 inches, with a total width of 48 inches, total depth of 26 inches and this desk weighs approximately 200 lbs. The pull out writing surface measures 41 inches wide by 21 inches deep and height from the floor to the top of the writing surface measures 30 inches. The knee hole height of the desk portion measures 25 1/4 inches and knee-hole width measures 18 3/4 inches. The cylinder portion of this desk raises and lowers very smoothly and has a large brass lock mechanism on the bottom which is marked: Indianapolis Cab. Co Pat. The lock is intact but we do not have the key. The inner desk portion is beautiful maple with a multitude of various sizes of storage drawers and cubbies.The old green felt on the pull out writing surface appears original and does show some wear and some spots. The left offers a stack of four storage drawers with period dove-tailed ends and the original pulls. To the right another drawer is found with a storage cabinet below. The lock is missing from the cabinet door. As you can see in the pictures this desk could easily be in the center of a room for it is as lovely on the back as the front and is finished beautifully all the way around. This Victorian Eastlake cylinder roll desk circa 1880 is in fabulous antique condition. EARLY AMERICAN ANTIQUE MISSION OAK DROP LEAF BEDROOM DESK
ANTIQUE MISSION OAK BEDROOM DESK This desk is of the type used in bedrooms during the turn of the century due to the small size of most rooms during the early America years. In addition to being used as a desk they were also used as secretaries. Sewing tables and also doubled as a night stand. This desk measures 47 1/2" in length in the unfolded position. 23 1/2" folded x 23" deep x 25 1/2" high. The folding legs are turned and have wooden casters, and the drawers are made with dove tail joints. This is a very sturdy desk which I have been using for the past six years as my computer desk. There are a few blemishes which can be seen in the photo's which can be best described as scratches and a few heat scorch marks which may have been from an iron. A lamp to close to the surface, or from a sewing machines motor heat ... moreall of which add to the patina of this beautiful desk. It has not been re-finished and am sure it could be if the buyer chooses to do so. I am not sure of it's origin but have seen a few similar which have been described as an item made in New England. This particular one was purchased from an antique store in Colorado over 30 years ago. This desk is in the same condition as it was found in that store. With the exception that the missing drawer knobs were replaced. The desk includes an ink bottle receptacle, pen holder, and three compartments for letters or other small items. The desk sits in the shallow wooden base that is stained to match the desk. The desk only sits in the base. It is not attached in any way that harms the desk's integrity. The base is attached to an antique wrought-iron sewing machine stand. The top lifts for storage and has a hinged arm to hold the top open. All product decals are original and unrestored. This is a solid walnut carved art- nouveau/craftsman- styled desk which is finished on all four sides. I am estimating it was made between 1895-1915. When this style was gaining popularity. However, this kind of desk is extremely RARE. Especially since it is finished on all four sides. The very first photo has the front finished side with the five drawers/cabinets, and the other side has the identical carvings but with no drawers(last photo listed) There are also two different close-ups of either side of the most carved part, photos 2 and 7. The very first picture is a photo of the desk without the red felt covering, which was replaced recently after it was discovered through restoration work that the original top of the desk was red felt originally. Stunning Victorian Inkwell/Stand In dark wood with brass inlaid detail. The brass detailing is amazing and very intricate. There are two glass inkwells and a space under the handle(perhaps for a blotting sponge? The drawer at the front is a handy space for paperwork. The craftsmanship is very good with dovetail joints throughout. Measures: 34 cms X 28 cms X 19 cms. The bad points: One of the feet is missing. This can easily be replaced and shouldn't be so difficult to replicate the other feet. One of the glass inkwells is cracked and is missing its brass lid. Aside from this. The stand is in very good condition and would look stunning on a nice vintage desk.

There is a glass screen that covers the barometer but there is an opening in which you can see the brass mid-section that drives the needles. It measures about 3" in diameter and 1.5" thick. It appears to be a polished brass finish. There is some light pitting around the perimeter and some yellowing inside the glass case. Otherwise good condition. Please see photos for more detail. For auction is a Vintage/Antique hand rocker Ink-blotter. The well constructed blotter has an Arts& Crafts appearance with a faux weathered copper finish. It appears to be constructed of a wood rocker and cast-steel platform. Rocker does display minor wear(see pics) which does not distract from a presentable appearance. Hand blotters came into fashion during the early 1800s. And generally featured a small handle mounted on a curved base, whose bottom surface was covered in felt and gently rocked over written text to absorb wet ink. ANTIQUE FRENCH CHINOISERIE JAPANESQUE INKWELL DESK BOX Presented is a fine antique French papier-mâché inkwell box with wonderful Chinoiserie or Japanesque decoration. The lid of the box is beautifully hand painted and gilded with a scene of Oriental figures in the foreground and flowers. Trees, clouds, and architecture in the background. The sides of the box are gilded and painted with a bird on one side and a teapot on the other side. The interior has compartments for the two original glass inkwells and a center box with a removable lid for other desk supplies. The interior of the lid is recessed so that the glass inkwells set perfectly flush against it. The inkwells never had individual lids. This is exactly the way the set was made. There is a pen rest at ... morethe front of the piece decorated with gilt flowers, scrolls, and leaves. This inkwell box was made in the second half of the 1800s between the 1860s and the 1890s. The condition is excellent. There is one small chip to the lower corner of the box. But it is on the back side so you dont really notice it. The painted and gilt decoration has some light surface wear commensurate with age, but this is minor. We did not clean this piece thoroughly because we wanted to leave it as we found it, but it should clean up a bit if you wish. We will leave that up to the new owner. The hinged lid is working well. The glass inkwells are in great shape. There are no other chips, no cracks, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The entire piece measures 8 3/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/8 inches. Description: This listing is for a Partially Composed Late 18th Century English Chippendale One Drawer Desk. Mahogany. It is a very fine piece with wonderful color throughout, a warm patina dancing across the finish. The top is rounded along the edges, a slight lip over a very wide and thick mahogany veneered surface with outstanding flamed grains. A single broad drawer sides in and out of the table with what appear to be fully original pierced batwing pull hardware and escutcheons, newly polished, and a veneered drawer facade. The drawer is hand dovetailed front and back with a thin single board bottom chamfered along the edges to rabbet into the frame. The lock is brass, appearing to be original with replaced screws, though ... moreto verify this we would have to remove the entire lock and have not done so. The table rests over four straight legs, the interior edges bevelled, both front legs flanked on either side by pierced returns in the Chippendale manner. This is a beautiful and simple desk. The right side has two small drawers above a larger file drawer. The divider board in this drawer is broken. There is also a pullout writing surface abov this bank of drawers. Only one of the other six drawers has a divider section in it. The remaining pieces are missing. There is a locking mechanism on the bottom section. It is a little sticky. Here is an antique Aladd in"The Wonderful Lamp" w/ Emeralite bell shade b ankers or desk lamp. This is the only one of th is model that Ive ever seen. And cannot find another on the web. And goodness knows Ive looked! States on the socket. Aladdin"The Wonderful Lamp" Beautiful bronze plated base and arm. Very Art Nouveau in design. Solid cast metal bottom. Weighs close to 9 l bs. C ased green old shade with the correct bluish green cast t o it. Cold painted Gol d rim(I think shade is Emeralite shade) Comes with 2 fountain pens and 2 Depression glass Green Inkwells. One with silver plated top and the other with brass top, no chips or cracks in the inkwells. I rewired it for safety so its good to go for another 8 0 years. I re-wired it with round bakelite plug and correct twisted cloth cord. I'll let the pictures do ... moremost of the talking here. Take a close look. Shade s ize is almost 5" W by 6" tall. Great old brass slag glass adjustable arm lamp. Amazing Arts and Crafts Mission design. Marked on the socket"Hubbell Pat. It has a date that I can't read. The little ball screw on the top unscrews and the arm slides in and out. The lamp is 12 inches tall and the base is 6 inches square. The total length on the arm is16 inches. The light drops down 8 inches and the slag glass shade is 5 1/2 inches by 5 inches across the bottom. It has the original paddle switch and cloth cord. It works as you can see in the pictures. The decorative metal trim around the bottom of the shade has become bent a little but is still secure. The lamp still retains its original patina. I didn't clean it. This is a vintage or antique iron goose neck desk or table lamp. I'm not sure i f it should be described as industrial or deco but it is a very nice example o f it's era. The design on the iron base is exceptionally nice and we ll defined. On the bottom is says. S.W. Farber I nc. Brooklyn N.Y. Pat. Appld.
